Reviews for Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adaptor (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)

Not even worth buying a Macbook if the one thing you need to make sure your computer is running is so faulty. This is my second adapter, which I was able to get for "free" because I had a warranty at the time, but 9 months later this adapter is also giving me problems. I'll leave it to charge and it only takes the slightest movement for it to stop working. Is this just a scam to continue to generate revenue from macbook pro sales?

This power adapter is so poorly made it doesn't even last a whole year; I've lost count of how many times I've had to replace it. I don't abuse it, fling it around, coil it tightly or put undue stress on it, yet it still stops charging for no apparent reason. Also, the wire is prone to splitting open near the connection to the computer.
This product (and its unreasonably high price) makes me rethink my commitment to Apple.

This is the most inefficient charging device I've ever purchased! Truly a curse to the overall product. Bad thing is to replace it, the cost is another $79.00 only after a year... :(

All I can say is that with the high price and horrible quality of these cords, I will not be buying a macbook for my next computer. I have spent $500 on cords for one computer. Nice little profit boost for Apple. This cord is a slight improvement over the previous version but the actual cord does not stand the test of time. The material of the cord isn't sturdy at all. The part that attaches to the magnetic port is also made poorly. I have to jiggle it to get it to keep charging and because of that it came apart completely after awhile. You shouldn't have to constantly be thinking about whether or not your computer is charging while using your computer. You also shouldn't have to sit like a stone statue to ensure it stays in the "sweet spot". If you buy one of these cord I highly suggest that you take a roll of white duct tape and wrap it around the length of the cord up to the power box. The 6th cord broke this camel's back and I'm writing this review on 18% battery. I will be getting myself any computer that isn't a macbook for this Christmas because of a stupid little cord...

I bought my macbook about 1 year and a half ago, and the L shape charger that it came with is already broken. The part that connects to the port has totally broken of, and I can see the clean cut of wires and the glue residue, this product was not made properly or with quality. Even though Apple states that there products are the best. My older brother has the old apple charger for about 4-5 years now and it still works perfectly. Aren't newer products meant to last longer?
I am very disappointed. Now my birthday present is going to be a new charger since they cost so much. Will i have to buy a new one every year? I hope not.

I have my mac book for two years, I am buying my third power cord. It is very flimsy, cover on wires easily damaged, wires brake. Expensive to replace.

Ok this is becoming very annoying, I am about to have to purchase my 3rd charger for my laptop. I purchased this last one not even a year ago and already I am having to purchase another one due to the charger breaking at the point where it is attached to the part that connects to the laptop...

THIS IS VERY VERY ANNOYING. You are a multi billion dollar company with access to unlimited research and trails, figure out a better way to make a longer lasting charger before we all switch to windows 8 and start buying PC's. R.I.P Steve

the right angle connection is no improvement over the old straight connector (that I notice the new Retina display models are using again), they ALL twist and break near the connector.

Apple needs to incorporate some sort of flexible strain relief near the connector.

I am so gentle with my MacBook and its charger,
but it ups and dies on me anyway. Judging from
the common sentiment represented in the reviews
for this product, need I say more?

But I also think it is unreasonably expensive, especially
for being so lame.

just 15 months ago i purchased macbook pro it costing 70,000 Rs ( i am from india) that time sony , dell and HP offer for 35,000 best laptop almost double cost MAC but now my charger not working , too hit for my laptop i don't think mac have good product just market good way
