    Magsafe Adaptor

I now have to buy my third adaptor in three years due to the cord fraying at the connection magnetic point. The cord and the product are clearly not of the quality to perform the task. Apple should be ashamed at the performance of this power cord!

Things like this are what make me regret my purchase of ANY Apple products. These chargers are awful and they're expensive. Heck...give me a couple hundred more dollars and I'll buy a whole new computer.

These chargers get outrageously hot, you have to be METICULOUSLY careful with them or the wires will bend and break, and with my charger I have to unplug it and plug it back in frequently because it stops working.

I wish I could speak more highly of your product.

    What were they thinking?

This is by far the worst product ever made. I've had my macbook since August 2011 and I'm going on my 4th charger. They can make a computer that last's forever, but not a charger.

The worst part is they know it doesn't work, but continue to sell them. They really need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I love my MacBook Pro, and I loved the power adapter. Now I see what everybody's talking about. I have had my Mac for a year and some months and the power adapter won't even connect enough to power the LED on it. Apple says they listen to their customers, if they truly do, they will change this piece of &#^¥. I paid over $1000 for a computer and I expected quality. One star? I only put it because they made me.

    Total Piece of Junk!

I am a big fan of all of Apple"s products, except this one. I had to replace the old mag safe charger on my last Mac because it was defective and recalled. Now I have to replace the new style adapter that supposedly fixed the problem, but this time I had to pay the apple tax. The newer style DOES NOT fix the problem, the wires still come apart in the same exact spot as the older, recalled mag safe adapter but this time you can't see the exposed wires. I was even told by a Mac genius that they had never had a problem with the new style, but I choose to believe that's not true based on the 800 or so bad reviews for this product. I have to go before my new charger breaks as well, thanks Apple...I really wish I could give it less than one star.....

Worst charger ever. Mine died again tonight. I will go purchase my THIRD one tomorrow. Apple is definitely making money off these charges because consumers have no choice but to go buy a new charger, otherwise Macbook is a paperweight. I LOVE Apple/Mac products and have converted several people from PCs to Mac, but this charger is JUNK.

    Thanks Apple. Another $84.

In the past eight months three of my brand new macbook chargers have just completely stopped working. At first they usually just work intermittently but eventually that light just never comes back on again. I am getting so sick of taking it into the apple store and getting a new one. Fortunately I am still covered under the extended warranty, but I would just like to get one of the old chargers again or have apple fix whatever is wrong.

... Because it makes them a lot of money. It's funny reading/seeing all these 1 star reviews! lol. I've had 2 faulty chargers, and I learned how to fix them with a soldering iron on YouTube. Then my wife's charger died too. Anyway, I'm ACTUALLY now considering switching to toshiba or something just because of this power issue. I love th Apple UI.software, but I feel taken advantage of. I will switch knowing that I'll miss the apple experience, but I'd rather have a better built product, especially if it's cheaper too.

Apple should be ashamed about how bad their chargers are. If they were $40 and broke ALL THE TIME then fine. but $80? total rip off. They should at least offer a discount if you send in your broken one to prove you didn't just lose it but the poor craftsmanship failed.

6th charger, 3rd of this kind

All I can say is that with the high price and horrible quality of these cords, I will not be buying a macbook for my next computer. I have spent $500 on cords for one computer. Nice little profit boost for Apple. This cord is a slight improvement over the previous version but the actual cord does not stand the test of time. The material of the cord isn't sturdy at all. The part that attaches to the magnetic port is also made poorly. I have to jiggle it to get it to keep charging and because of that it came apart completely after awhile. You shouldn't have to constantly be thinking about whether or not your computer is charging while using your computer. You also shouldn't have to sit like a stone statue to ensure it stays in the "sweet spot". If you buy one of these cord I highly suggest that you take a roll of white duct tape and wrap it around the length of the cord up to the power box. The 6th cord broke this camel's back and I'm writing this review on 18% battery. I will be getting myself any computer that isn't a macbook for this Christmas because of a stupid little cord...

    $80? Seriously?

I'm using electric tape to hold my flimsy charger together and it's officially broken after two years of owning my Macbook. Then I go on your website to find out how much a new one costs, and find out it's 80 dollars? I swear, Apple, one thing that makes me so mad about your company is that your products are so expensive. It's a flimsy, easily breakable charger! It's not worth $80! $80 should guarantee me a charger that works for at least 5 years. This is garbage. And what's messed up is that I don't trust buying it from anywhere else in fear of it breaking in a week. But you know what? I'm taking the risk because there's no way I'm buying it from your company. $80. Get real.

My charger had no signs of wear and tear and had no indication that it was having trouble charging my macbook, it just suddenly quit working one day. How horrible now I have to fork out $80 for a new charger which I was not planning on doing. Apple I love your products but if you want to keep your customers happy you need to either 1. change the design flaw that causes these to quit working 2. provide a lifetime warranty on the power adapters (haha wishful thinking) or 3. At LEAST lower the price on these!!!! SOOOO dissapointed

    3 adapters in 3 years

I have just about everything apple related and love the company's products. I am, however, extremely disappointed in the need to keep replacing my adapter because they eventually fray and come loose at the end that connects to the laptop. My latest replacement just sat plugged up at my desk, not being bent up or coiled and recoiled, yet it still ended up failing around the 1 year mark. At $80 each, this is not acceptable. I understand some users probably cause theirs to wear down with misuse and bending, but there is undoubtedly a design flaw involved for this issue to be so prevalent. I love your products, so please design better adapters to power them.

Easy fix. Why isn't it made?

I really like the magnetic coupling.

But when a plug -- any plug -- connects to a flexible cord, something's gonna fray.
In the journey to ineffable durability, one must accept also the beauty of the transient.

    Keep the wonderful magnetic coupling.
Make the cord itself detachable at both ends
    and cheap.
    Price it at $10.
    Make the first replacement free.

It is the path of wisdom to embrace the disposable as well as the permanent and not gouge the customer $82 a shot.

I'm reading all these reviews and they're saying exactly how they feel. After having the old charger for 3 years, it finally died out and I had to replace it. I got the new design charger around may and it's september and it looks like I'm going to have to buy another one and I'm not happy. It charged on and off and today it just gave out. I don't understand how everyone is complaining about the same problem but you still fail to change it. I always support apple but this is just ridiculous. You guys have got to get it together.

I love my MacBook Pro, but its MagSafe Power Adaptor falls inexplicably short of Apple's usually high standard. I am now purchasing my 4th charger before my computer's 4th birthday. I bought an Apple for its dependability, but I have been plagued by power issues.
