Reviews for Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adaptor (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)

Very poor quality. I am on my second charger. The cord on the first charger freighed adjacent to the magnetic connection after a few years. Broke out some solder and electrical tape and managed to squeeze another few months out of it. Finally had a to buy a replacement. The replacement has now stopped working after only a few months. What garbage for over $70!

It just lasts up to 6 months.
I had one with Macbook pro which died in about 7 months. Then I bought another one which too died within 6 months.
If somebody has found better alternative please inform.

Just wanted to chime in on the charger complaint list...my 2009 white Macbook has died, and I also have the issue plugging the box into older wall outlets at my home, and at school. The timing of this is terrible too, because I can't afford a replacement and the cpu is now completely dead with all my semester's worth of work on it! Boo hoo, thanks Apple LOL

I have had a mac book pro since October 2008 and every year I buy a new power cord. I'll admit the first few years could be due to use and storage means. The last two years now the cord has split right near the capacitor? and the cord has seen little movement in those years besides moving plug to plug in my apartment.

For a product that should be the best it's ridiculous that i have to pay for a third charger over the past 5 years! And apple can't help me b/c it's been a year. But that's all the charger last for?!?!?! . I'm very disappointed.

This is my 3rd magsafe adapter in 14 months and it's also defective. I have to wiggle it and try to place it in several positions before it starts working and recently, it's not working at all. I have to spend 90$ every couple of months....

This is my second power cord for my macbook. On this one the outer rubber casing to the wire split and stretched and continually made its way down the wire..I taped it with electrical tape and it even goes past THAT.
What a rip for the money.
I used to love apple .....now.not so much.

This is the third one that I have purchased in 3 years. Why don't you fix this problem, Apple? I love your computer but spending $80 a year to keep it going is crazy! Obviously, there are MANY people with this same issue - it's time you do something about this problem!!

The newer Apple power adapter is better than the old style. With the reinforced "L" connection at the magnetic port on my MacPro, the cord lasted a bit longer than the old style ones that frequently frayed near attachment to the computer. BUT my power adapter cord just gave out by fraying at the other end near the power adapter bo, though it did last a year and a half. How about some reinforcement next time there, too?? I HATE paying $79 for a new cord - they should last longer, Apple!!!
