    Very poor quality

    I, too, bought this charger and it stopped working after four months. I brought it to the Apple store, and they said it had a warranty of 90 days. I agree with numerous reviewers that this is an exceptionally poor product, and I would warn anyone who is reading these reviews (as I should have!) to avoid this charger! I hope Apple will eventually recall this product and offer a charger that *works*

    Here we go again! I'm on adapter #4!

    I love my Mac computer, but I continue to have adapter trouble. In the last 2 years, I've had my adapter replaced 3 times and the "newest" one is about to go. There's a kink in it somewhere that prohibits power flow. This is extremely annoying! All the reviews are right: if Apple is such a technologically-advanced company why can't they construct a power adapter that lasts?!? I mean, it's all and good if your products look cool, but it also needs to function! Revamp you design and get it right! It's just pathetic. And the apathy you guys show your consumers is enraging.

    Breaks Easy

    Made poorly. Owned my MACBOOK for about eight months than it started to give me problems charging "on and off" for about 2 -3 weeks before It stopped charging completely. The tip fell off while examining the cord. Got a new one, but feel apple should revisit the problem. Like the magnetic feature but feel quality and construction is still lacking.

    Wonderful disposable adapters

    I love Apple. I love them so much that I look forward to my magsafe adapter failing yet again so that I can transfer more of my money to Apple's coffers. Gotta love the "functionality" though. Use it for a few months and then chuck it for a new one. Wish other companies catch-up on the fine-art of designing disposable adapters. At least one technology Apple truly "pioneered". I pity those poor suckers using ancient PC technology. Oops...just realized that I spent too much time typing the review not noticing that my magsafe now shows only a faint green light. It's ka-ching time for Apple!

    if you guys don't change the design of the L-shape charger, at least lower the price to $10 or something. You guys charge $79+tax for a product that will only last couple months. Macbook is great and all, but the charger isn't at all

    Worst Apple Product

    I don't understand how Apple can come up with these beautiful products - the macbook, ipod, ipad, iphone, etc - but can't make a working power adapter.

    I am really good to my electronics. However, my THIRD MagSafe power adapter (for a macbook I purchased in Jan 2009) just went. The power cord near the connector just splits. I take pains to make sure the cord is always in the right place, and never twisted so this doesn't happen. All my efforts don't matter - it still splits. I'm going to the Apple store tomorrow and because I purchased the last one only 7 months ago, I really hope its under the 1 year warranty so I don't have to shell out another $80 for a new one.

    This is just an awful product. Every other electronics company knows how to make a good power adapter. For the life of me, I can't understand why apple can't catch up.

    MagSafe power adapter

    Ive gone through 2 in less than 10 months. The second one just quit on me and I rarely ever took it out of the house, only picked it up by the brick and practiced every precaution to prevent any stress on the cable joints. I have two papers due tomorrow and my laptop wont charge. If you are a student looking for a dependable computer DONT get a MacBook until apple licenses third party manufacturers to make the MagSafe adapters, maybe they can get it right. P.S: I was unable to describe my true feelings about this product due to the language filter on these reviews, but I assure you there were alot of "expletive deleted's". Oh and I wasn't able to give this product less than 1 star

    3rd Time's the Charm

    I love the design of the magsafe but I just purchased my 3rd one in less than 3 years. My two previous chargers broke in different places so there is more than one weak point. The charger just is not durable enough. I have taken good care of my chargers and have tried to protect them. Hopefully this next one will last.

    I love apple products but they should be ashamed of this cord. The plastic began to disintegrate after only 8 months. It rarely travels, so it's not from overuse. The most ridiculous part of the whole thing is that they charge $80 to replace it when it's so poor quality in the first place.

    Really sick of this

    I love my MacBook but I've replaced the power cord twice already and it's just broken again. It's ALWAYS the same problem, the cord just falls apart at where it connects to the MacBook. You would think that after so many complaints and bad reviews that Apple would produce a product with more strength there. The rest of the power adapters are fine except for the flimsy cord so now I have three perfectly good chargers and laptop that is useless until I buy a new adapter.

    60W MagSafe Power Adapter Is Horrible

    I have had my 13" MacBook Pro for a little over two months. The power adapter just quit working. I can't believe Apple is using this horrible product. I would expect that computer which costs as much as this MacBook would have have come with a power adapter that would last longer than 60 days. I am now forced to quit working. Drive to the store to replace this expensive, poorly designed power adapter just to complete the work that I am doing on a Saturday afternoon. I am not a happy camper at this time.

    Lousy Powercord

    The only reason I'm here shopping is because my powercord only lasted about a year. The first one that came with the computer lasted about one and a half years. So now I'm buying my THIRD one in less than 3 years. At 75 dollars a whack - plus tax -- this is ridiculous! Apple computers are great, but the powercords are awful! Shame on you Apple! You're letting a little (but vital and absolutely essential) item ruin your good reputation!

    Surprisingly awful product

    I purchased my MacBook Pro for college. Naturally, I expected great things from a company who advocates so strongly for education. The MagSafe Power Adapter has NEVER worked properly. Each time I connect it to my MacBook, I have to play around with it before the light goes on and my computer charges at all. Now, after reading MANY reviews, I fear that soon it will stop working altogether. I'm extremely disappointed in Apple for its failure to produce a dependable product. As a student, I depend on my computer for my education, and if my computer has no power, what am I supposed to do?

    I'm encouraged after reading reviews that I'm not the only who has had trouble with this product. I thought maybe I was cursed or something. I'm on my third power adapter in less than a year. I'm very disappointed that these can't even last 6 months. Please Apple - design a power adapter that will last! (My old beat up PC Toshiba laptop still works with the original power adapter after 10+ years. Surely Apple could make something that sturdy!)

    Worst Adapter in History (Three Dead in Five Months)

    If I could give this zero stars, I would. Like many of these people, I do not normally write reviews. However, I bought this computer in August of 2010 and my third adapter since then just died – within FOUR days of purchasing it. Absolutely nothing to cause or justify a mechanical failure has occured. It just stopped working. Judging from these reviews, that's incredibly common. Apple needs to do something about this if they ever want me to buy one of their computers again.

    DEAD AFTER SIX MONTHS?!?!

    I cannot describe my frustration in having my second charger fail in 6 months!!!! SERIOUSLY something is wrong with this adapter! If apple knows it's going to fail every few months make it cheaper. Nothing is worse having this fail right after christmas when everyone is already broke!

    For the most part, I love everything about Apple, but this charger is completely unreliable. As a college student, money is already an issue, so dealing with replacing a charger is something I don't want to deal with. The heads always fall off because it's just not durable enough. I never tug on my cord or anything, so I was really shocked when each of my chargers broke.
