    Excellent Product!

I really love the design of the MagSafe Power Adapter, and they have never failed me. The power adapter has no issues so far as I can see, only one being that it could be longer. Overall, the adapter is a great product, and I have never had a problem with it. *Note: I am a Mac user of over 5 years, and I have only had to replace the adapter once, when my pet rabbit chewed the wire. I have never had to replace the second one.

The power adapter has worked fine for me, I've had the power adapter for 3 years and I'm always carrying it around. I've never felt that i need to replace it because its built pretty well.

    Great Product

I have had my aluminum Macbook since the late 2008 when it first came out. My original charger lasted me up until last week when it finally died after 5 years!I never had a problem with that charger and took really god care of it. I bought a new charger since my old one finally gave up on me due to the wear and tear around the "T" shaped area which connected to the computer. The new one has connected well and has been doing its job. People need to understand that Apple is a company meant for people of high class, aka for rich people. So if you're someone who has an issue buying a charger at $80, then maybe you should consider not purchasing an Apple product.

    Don't understand the bad reviews

I have an old power adapter from my last laptop that has been working for over 7 years. What do people do to their adapters? It's an electronic device, you can't bang it around and expect it's not going to break. Needless to say, I've been using my new one for over 2 years now with no issues and I have one at all three places I use my laptop most, so I don't have the added weight in my laptop bag...unless I'm going on a trip. I've had no issue with any I've every purchased.

The new MagSafe power adapter is awesome. The design gets the cord and connector out of the way and to date, eliminates the loose connection problems. The thumbs up!

    I HIGHLY RECCOMED THIS PRODUCT

I have went through 3 chargers breaking on me with the old charger for the Macbook Pro. In desperation I went looking for ANOTHER charger because of the third charger breaking.
I came upon this charger and was really excited to see how much they have improved their product. This charger feels very different from the old one and it is well worth the extra $20 to $30 difference.
The charger is sleek and very sturdy. The peice that connects to the computer is made VERY VERY well and when plugged into the computer stays in place when bumped and fits nicely to the side of the computer unlike the old charger that stuck straight out.
If your iffy about buying this product ... DONT BE ... I garuntee you will LOVE THIS CHARGER.

This is a great Power Adapter. It is better than the old design as said by many in the reviews. For those who are considering buying one, don't pay attention to the idiots that can't take care of their equipment. I have had mine for quite a while now with no problems. The people who complain of fraying are simply careless.

    2 Years and going

    • Written by from Mississauga

I am unsure what everyone is complaining about, and how some people managed to go through 3 power adapters. You guys are clearly using it wrong or abusing it.

I have had my Macbook along with adapter for 2 years and everything works just perfectly. The adapter has gone through a lot of travelling and damage but still works great.

I travel to and from school everyday and my adapter comes along with me. The chord has been tripped over numerous times in classes, I am surprised everything is still working tbh.

    Let's Compare...

Alright, so it sounds like these have a tendency to stop working after awhile. Mine still works great, and I love it, but I've only had it for about a month. But if you've ever shopped for a replacement power adapter for a PC laptop, you know that they are just as expensive. And the problem with them is that, in my experience, they break EASIER! Because it's not the magnetic connection, every time someone trips over the cord, it not only brings the charger close to its demise, but also brings the connection to the motherboard closer to ITS demise. And once that happens, it's new laptop time.

It's very difficult to produce a bullet-proof charger, because they definitely get the most abuse out of any part of the macbooks, or any laptop in general. Just realize that ALL laptop users are in the same boat, and really Apple still has higher quality. The magsafe connector is something I wish was on EVERY laptop, patents or not, because they're just THAT MUCH BETTER.

Oh, and to the few who complain because the wall charger is bulky, just switch to the 3-prong extension, and you have yourself a classic laptop charger with the adapter in the middle of the cord. And if you still want to complain, go buy a desktop, because again, every laptop user fights that same thing.

Sorry if this post seems a little troll-y. Didn't mean to come off that way, it just seems that many of these reviewers are a bit....ignorant?

So I have had my charger for about 1 and a half years. It is a little scuffed up, but it works fine. If people would take care of their things they might not break as easily.

    No complaints here.

    • Written by from Forney

What is everyone else doing to their power cords that they're fraying and/or stop working? I've had mine for a year and a half with no qualms and only charge once the battery of my Mac is near dead. There has to be something reviewers are doing they're not letting on to in order to have to replace a cord more than, at most, once a year. I mean, maybe it's denial that you could do anything wrong to contribute to something not working, but some people have to understand things wear out over time. Maybe they stop charging because they're being over-used. It's expected they would fail or lose juice if they're constantly charging your Mac. I agree it is an expensive replacement, but really it shouldn't even be an issue if they're taken care of properly and stop working over a considerable amount of time.

The planet is fine, the people are f*ed

    • Written by from Vilnius

This product is fine - it's sturdy for it's size and weight and efficient for charging time. For all the people complaining about it breaking near the tip of the charger - who's fault do you think it is?

    Do YOU:
*even use the clip-on on the wire to make a straight connection?
*you carefully wind the wire around the "horns" when carrying it?
*you ever pick up the whole charger by the small cord?

If you do, then it's your fault. Get huge chargers with mega layers of protection - go buy a DELL, that will last you for ever...
