    GREAT DEVICE

    • Written by from Oakland

This thing is amazing!!!! I love it. So much better for designers than the magic mouse which I have retired. None of the jumping problems that the MM had with Adobe software. Easily replaces the mouse with it's many configurations. The best!

A MUST HAVE - RETIRE THE MOUSE

    • Written by from TOPEKA

I have been an Apple owner since 2001. I have bought hardware every year since and can say there have been a few moments when your impressed with the innovation and that it deserves recognition of being a "game changer."

I am very pleased with the Mgic Trackpad, I agree with some reviews that state that this hit the market without being introduced in a large audience or in some notable way but, don't let that fool you!

This amazing little pad is revolutionary in every way; I have a MBA and use a Aluminum Keyboard regularly but enjoy my trackpad so much and have had to be consigned to using my mouse when I am at the office or in "desktop" mode.

However, this is the "game changer" that was missing! Meaning I can quickly type on my Aluminum Keyboard and can now enjoy the gesture based trackpad/ mouse too!

If you wonder "how" it may feel to use it in that configuration; well I can attest that it is very natural and unnoticeable.

    Great Job Product Development Team!

Easy to Use like the MacBook trackpad

    • Written by from Coquitlam

I bought the trackpad to go with my Bluetooth Apple Keyboard. It functions like a bigger version of the recent MacBook's trackpad.

Problem is, I was hoping to use the Magic Trackpad while sitting around on the couch/sofa. In order to use the clickable/press-able trackpad button, I need to set it down on a solid surface.

Otherwise, it's a great product. Works perfectly and I would highly recommend it. I just wish I could use it on my lap, the couch or anything that's not-so-solid.

Magic TrackPad is simply amazing. Takes a few min to get the hang of it. Being a guitar player my right hand thanks you for not having to grip a input device. The four finger swipe to switch apps is amazing.

I am loving this Track Pad. I haven't used my mouse since I have gotten it. For those of you with 27" iMacs, have no fear you will have no problem navigating the pointer from one end to the other. Looks great to, as do all Apple products.

love it, but it's too sensitive

    • Written by from Ypsilanti

I've gotten used to using this thing and love it, with some reservations. But first, let me just say that it feels like input devices have for the first time in a couple decades taken a step forward. I had no idea the MacBook trackpad was so nice. Using the Magic Trackpad feels a little like stepping into the future.

    My reservations...

    1) It's a bit too sensitive. I find myself accidentally activating controls too often. It seems that links and other controls sometimes activate just by cursoring over them, or for no reason at all. I usually love the sensitivity but find the mistakes frustrating.

    2) I'd like to be able to define my own gestures.

    3) One tap held followed by a second-finger tap, or maybe a three-finger tap, would make a handy new gesture for, say, middle-button clicking. There currently isn't a way to activate the third mouse button.

    Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from Hutchinson

I'm not even remotely close to being as computer "savvy" as most people that post here. I don't know for sure how this thing works, and I don't care. In my opinion, it's the best thing since sliced bread. Buy it, connect it, read the instructions, then just play with it! My mouse is in the desk drawer, batteries removed.

    AMAZING! .. & I'm no techie

    • Written by from Germantown

I had a 2008 macbook(the last of the bulkier body white ones) that I had to retire recently because ..well, it was just time. I now have the 21.5 inch iMac which comes with the option of coming with a mouse or trackpad. I choose the trackpad cause I'd read and heard it was similar to browsing on a laptop. & it is! I love it!!! It makes the transition from laptop to desktop much easier because it feels.. not so different. It;s also sleek looking and just nice looking next to the wireless keyboard. Makes for a clean work space. I was back and forth before deciding but I'm glad I went for it. Try it!

    Nice replace for a mouse.

    • Written by from Casper

I had almost always used a mouse and had thought I would never want to buy or let alone use the Apple Trackpad. The trackpad on my MacBook Pro was an okay substitute to a wireless mouse I had been using, but I never saw it, as a replacement. Well, in any event I got an Apple Magic Trackpad for Christmas and boy I am very much loving it. For starters, like everything Apple makes, this item is just cool looking. Beyond the ascetics this item has no moving parts. Also the multi-finger gestures make this a great replacement to an older wireless mouse I was using. In addition I very much like the size, as it is bigger than the trackpad on my laptop. Only downside was a missing manual, so I did not realize that I needed set up the trackpad in System Preferences. After doing that I found some of the finger gestures that had not previously worked, all of sudden were performing wonders. The two finger swipe is great for moving between webpages and is one of my favorite gestures. In all I really like this item and would recommend, as a replacement to a mouse, whether wireless or wired to anyone with an Apple computer (either laptop or desktop).

This product is by far genius! I recommend this product to every one who doesn't want to use a mouse and wants to spice things up a bit at their workplace or home.

Even more coming -- product great now

    • Written by from Brocton

Wow. I've been a PC user my whole life. I loved PC's but after I went to Buffalo's mac store, picked up an iMac, started using the Magic Trackpad and compared the two? WOW. This pad makes doing three things at once seem easy -- because it is! With the new update coming out soon more is coming. If you're worried about how this will compare to your beloved old mouse, you're wasting precious time using this product.

I just got my trackpad today and was easy to set up. WOW, what an amazing toy. I love what all the gestures do, you can switch between windows, make print bigger or smaller and much more. Goodbye mouse. Hello new and improved technology.

Thank you for creating this trackpad, Apple folks.

    It works for me.

Really accurate, easy to use, also my fingers and wrist are pain-free when I use it.

You can do everything you do with mouse, with comfort. It's faster than mouse.

    Good job.

A lot better then any mouse

    • Written by from Stoney Creek

I find I can do things faster and the trackpad can do multiple things that a mouse can't. Not only that my wrist feels better using this device then the mouse and it is very easy to keep clean.

    Really worth the purchase

    • Written by from Meise

This product is one of the few touchpads on the market that actually work. The bluetooth connection works perfectly and you don't feel any difference with the built-in touchpad. Only one thought: why not make 4-finger gestures possibile?

all in all, great product, works the way you want it to work.
