Don't let any bad review fool you. You won't look back!

    • Written by from Wandana Heights

Okay, once you decide you want one of these and once you've stopped thinking about the price. GET IT. I've had mine for 4 years and its still perfect. There are some reviews that might mislead you to think it doesn't pair properly or the battery drains quick. Neither is true and is mostly likely related to their technical understanding of the technology. The batteries only need replacing every 4 months or so... I honestly can never remember how often since its usually a long time between renewals. I don't even use expensive or fancy brands. Just cheap batteries, its perfect. Also for those who didn't realise - you can actually even switch to just 'tapping' instead of clicking on a trackpad like on a laptop (or MacBook)... meaning you don't even need to worry about clicking! just tap!. Its makes my usage of navigating my screen so much quicker. Its less mess than a mouse too, its prettier and having the ability to expand and double tap to expand things makes every so much easier. Just get one already. Please, for your own sake. Just do it.

    Makes life so easy!

I love this piece! I am a fashion designer and music producer DJ. This combined with the bluetooth keyboard make a killer difference in my home studio and pro studio. Assigned Tap to Click and life is just a breeze. I hook up my MacBook Pro to a projector and in group sessions I can fly around the screen and edit so easily.

Skeptical because of bad reviews but very impressed

    • Written by from LONG BEACH

I had read some nasty reviews about the Magic Trackpad but decided to give it a try anyway. It works great and is very comfortable to use. I also purchased the Apple Rechargeable Batteries (awesome purchase as well) because I read that the Magic Trackpad drains down batteries like crazy. So far I have been using it for 2 weeks and it still shows over 85% battery life. At this rate, the two batteries inside it should last about 12 weeks before being changed which is more than acceptable.

How did I get along without it?

    • Written by from Seattle

Today I bought an Apple Magic Trackpad. I had been using an HP mouse and it works great, but the Magic Trackpad is so much better! I'll have to get accustomed to the various gestures, there's a bunch of them, but this thing is so much more integrated into OS X and makes everything so much easier. Thank you, Apple!

    Less intense for the hand

    • Written by from Auckland

I bought this to replace a mouse because of RSI issues. It's not an end all, but it's so much more natural for my hand to use a trackpad than a mouse! I find it much softer, and much more comfortable. It looks great, and I love the bluetooth wireless nature of it. Hookup is impossibly easy. Also I if I'm reading documents etc I can just pick it up, but it on my lap and scroll from there. I hesitated with the $102 CAD price tag after tax, but it's absolutely worth it.

    Amazing in so many ways!

Loved the design from the moment I saw it and does not disappoint when its on the desk. Great functions built in and easy to understand guide in the trackpad system preferences. Bluetooth opens up another USB port and it is paired to your computer or other devices in seconds. One more reason to love Apple's innovative approach to computing.

Did I mention just how good this thing looks....

    Amazing for design

    • Written by from Cliffside Park

The Magic Trackpad is awesome, especially the fact that you can drag with three fingers, you really have no need to ever click the trackpad. I chose this and not the magic mouse because I don't need to lift my arm to move the mouse, that means both arms are resting on the table on my preferred position to keep a good posture. I also recommend the small keyboard with this trackpad. As a designer sitting in front of the computer for hours, the Trackpad works great, I only wish it was a little narrower, so you can rest your thumb and pinky easily on the desk on each sides of the trackpad. I give this product 5 stars because all of the above and it is very well thought out and very well made.

    Love it !!!

I received this as a Christmas gift (that I suggested) and could not be happier! I have a Mac Mini and an iPad and iPhone so the learning curve was easy. Set up was also easy. I love it so far. Easy to use, if you have an iPhone you will "get it", works perfectly for me and Apple quality. What's not to love?!!

This Track Pad is the Bomb!

    • Written by from Huntsville

After years of hating those track pads built into laptop computers, I was skeptical this Magic Trackpad would be worth having. But over the last couple of years I came to realize that my favorite aspect of my magic mouse was its ability to process touch gestures. So a few days ago I picked up the trackpad while I was updating my iPad mini. There's a little bit of a learning curve, and I did change the default options in my iMac setup to enable tap-click and higher sensitivity, but I can honestly say that rodent pointing devices are now officially retired on my home computer. Perhaps I should build a shrine for my Magic Mouse to honor its memory, but I'll probably just throw it in a junk drawer with all the other obsolete hardware I've collected to date. I can now say that the track pad has come of age with this Magic Trackpad and is a suitable replacement for a mouse for my purposes. We'll have to see how it does with photo-editing software, but I'm very impressed with it.

Makes Working at My Desk a Breeze

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I use the Magic Trackpad with my MacBook Pro when I have it hooked up to an external monitor at my desk, and it's an absolute joy to work with! I tried the Magic Mouse for months before connection problems made me turn to the trackpad. I wasn't thrilled with the prospect of having to use a trackpad all the time (change is hard), but this one has made me a convert in just a few days. Plus, it makes using my MacBook away from my desk (when I just use the built-in trackpad) easier because I'm so familiar with all the gestures now. Oh, and the Magic Trackpad has none of the connection issues I experienced with the Magic Mouse, so if you're experiencing that issue, don't hesitate to make the switch.

    Great Add-On

This trackpad has a fantastic feel to it. You can do so much with this trackpad that you can't with a mouse. For day-to-day use, I actually use this alongside the Wireless Mouse. A must buy.

    Amazingly user friendly

    • Written by from Findlay

I am a fierce user of Mice. I'm a gamer and mice are more convenient.

I purchased my iMac a couple months ago and chose to keep it with the trackpad. OMG, I was so right !

Super comfy, it sits right next the Apple keyboard and at the same height. It sold with batteries in it and although not rechargeable, they lasted 2 whole months without issue.

It's fast, it's natural to use (you can configure almost everything in it), the gestures are so convenient it's worth taking some time to learn them.

It doesn't get dirty, it doesn't feel fragile, it's sensitive enough to just need to be slightly touched if needed, it's big enough that you don't need to drop and get back to scroll for a whole screen.

I even surprise myself using it for some of my less demanding games (like MMORTS, like Stronghold Kingdoms...).

    Excellent product.

    AWESOME EVERYWHERE MOUSE

    • Written by from Pompton Plains

At first I was skeptical about this over the Magic Mouse, but after reading several good reviews about this product and seeing as how I will be using this with my Macbook Air for school and need something ULTRA portable, I decided on the Trackpad. I can definitely tell you that within using this for 5 hours, the trackpad is the BEST! I love the gestures and how I can use this on the couch or on my lap. SUPERB QUALITY APPLE! :) AWESOME!

    feels so natural!

    • Written by from edwardsville

the magic trackpad is a fantastic concept with excellent execution. i admit, i had to get used to not being slow and not having to keep picking up my mouse, moving my mouse back to the left, and laying it down just so i can continue scrolling right lol, but once i killed this old habits i found that it just feels more natural to swipe back and forth between screens and actually point to where i wanna go. its a bit larger than the standard track pad in your mac and has an epic range!! (i can connect to my laptop from my neighbors house across the street!) plus i even paired it with a surface tablet and a dell or HP laptop and it worked wonderfully :) thanks apple!!

    Great alternative to the mouse

    • Written by from San Jose

I was skeptical at first since a mouse is so much easier to use than the trackpad on the MacBookPro.
But having the trackpad next to my keyboard with it's luxuriously large surface has really turned my thinking around about trackpads.
I love the gestures available for scrolling, zooming, clicking, etc. I was not really thrilled initially because the click-force is so high but when I enabled the tap feature I use it exclusively.

I put my magic mouse away and haven't brought it out since.

    Really functional

    • Written by from Toronto

After many years of use, our mouse died. I decided to give Magic Trackpad a try and I'm thunderstruck by its brilliance. Its compact, yet functional. I cannot believe the amount of features it has, and the number of commands that I could do with it. I think the days of the mouse are numbered. I must admit, it did take some time for some of my family members to understand how to fully use it. Overall, it is a great compliment to our Mac Mini. We are planning to buy a second Magic Trackpad, once our other mouse dies.
