Just tried it out. I have Lion installed and it is super easy to navigate with it. I even dare to say it can beat trackpad of mac laptops.

I think in the future they should have it the default accessory for new macs.

I bought a Magic Trackpad over a week ago and I am just finally becoming comfortable with it. In fact, I am beginning to absolutely LOVE it. If you are an old ex windows (like me) be prepared fora long learning curve. Well worth the effort when you get there!

I was told by a fellow photographer friend that I should have the Magic Trackpad because it would make my workflow go so much easier ( I use Adobe Lightroom ). I was having trouble with the MM as well as my Wacom tablet (using the pen) when adjusting. I use the Magic Mouse as well and when I got it I was very pleased by what that could do however I just received my Magic Trackpad today and can say it does a lot more. It make my work flow with LR extremely easy and just using my computer for anything has made me more "one with the computer" Best $ I have spent yet. Apple (Steve Jobs etc) is/are amazing.

I just put this in front of my computer and started using it. After a day I put the mouse and trackball away. I use logic 9 quite a bit and I find this works well. No issues. As far as battery life, I didn't even realize this thing took a battery! I've had no power issues at all and it's been a couple of months.

I bought it because it matches perfectly with my Apple BT keyboard, the pair look really cool with the 27" iMac. however, it took a little time to get use to. funny that I seriously considering to return it. But after keeping it for a few days, got use to the no mouse click and the finger gesture combination, I like it so much now.

Never going back to a mouse

The trackpad is one of my favorite features of the MacBook that I use for work, so it was natural to get the Magic Trackpad for my iMac. It's so much more intuitive and offers far more functionality than a mouse alone. It's a breeze to set up and I would highly recommend it. I'll never buy another mouse again.

What is this mouse you speak of?

After using the trackpad on a MacBook Pro for a long time, I realized I no longer need a mouse at all. Replaced the mouse altogether with a Magic Trackpad on this iMac. It's been weeks--the mouse is ancient history to me now. The gestures for back/forward, scrolling, etc. along with Expose's corner hotspots for app switching, Spaces, Dashboard, etc. make for very efficient input. Compared to the Windows/Dell setup I had a few years ago, this truly feels like the 21st century.

When you've been use to yanking a mouse around for years, it took me a minute to get use to just using my fingers to do the same thing. Once I realized that all I had to do was a gentle press of the pad to click... I was good to go!

Now I love it! Here we go again with Apple redefining the rules for the computer world for the better!

I'll definitely be buying this product again for my other systems!

This trackpad has changed my workplace dramatically. I am able to do 100 times more and 100 times faster with this trackpad. I have been using the trackpad on my macbook for years and it is great to be able to experience the fantastic power of the trackpad while in my office. A MUST HAVE for any Mac owner running 10.6.4 or higher. Thanks Apple.

The magic trackpad works great with the MacBook Pro, once you find out you must first download a file - DL1066. Once that's done, it's a dream to work with!

    Best thing since sliced bread!

Over the past couple of years I've bought 3 mighty mice and a magic mouse. The track ball getting gunked up with dog hair and dirt on the mighty mouse' and the optical lenses on all of the mice was a HUGE problem with me! So Apple hit a home run coming out with this solution!!! I couldn't be more impressed to say the least. There's no way this babies going down like the mice did, no way.

When I got it I followed a few lines of simple directions and updated it and sinked with my Macbook Pro and then because I have it on the soft arm of the couch checked a box to tap to click and I'm off and running. Sing'n; I'M IN HEAVEN!!!!

Not just pretty! This is one of the coolest things I have for my desktop. It even works in Windows!

I have no idea what people are complaining about with the sensitivity. I'm using it on a Macbook Pro (clamshelled) and it's a virtual clone of the one on the laptop. The sensitivity is perfect and the extra large surface area is exactly the right size - not too big, not too small.

I can't recommend this thing enough. VERY cool!

    Fantastic ergonomic alternative!

I purchased this product for one simple reason. The death grip I'd developed from my ergo mouse (made by that company in Redmond) was beginning to cause problems and interfere with my work. I spend A LOT of time on a computer doing development. Having an alternative input means that stretched my fingers and allowed me to change things up was quite simply, a godsend. Sure there are other "trackpads," but nothing the size of this one. I've tried Wacom tablets, and for me they have all the same problems. I'm just gripping a stylus instead of a mouse. There will always be things I prefer a mouse for, but having the ability to change it up from time to time is great.

So far, I've only used it working in Windows running under Bootcamp. I'm sure there are tons of other great features I've yet to discover on the OS X side. After only two days of use, my formerly cramped up mousing hand feels much better.

So, whether looking to use under Mac OS or Windows, if you're thinking about trying an alternative to the repetitive stress of a mouse, try it out, you won't be sorry. The one small criticism I have, and maybe there are undiscovered settings for this, but the button "click" action feels a little too firm. Pressing on the lower part of the trackpad seems to provide a softer click, but anywhere else feels like it takes too much effort. Other than that, near perfect!

Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone 4, but it didn't change THAT much about my smartphone usage. The Magic Trackpad, however, instantly changed the way I use my computer... forever. Goodbye mouse, the training wheels are off and I am now truly moving. The reason that I sound a little TOO excited is that I use Final Cut, Motion, Photoshop and other creative production softwares for a living and I knew after 20 minutes of using this device that I am working faster and smarter. As a freelancer, that means more money in my pocket. But money aside, I simply love the feel of using a large trackpad, it becomes so natural. The size makes all the difference for me (big hands), as I never really fell in love with laptop trackpads. This changes all of that because, once again, this changes everything...

This thing is amazing!!!! I love it. So much better for designers than the magic mouse which I have retired. None of the jumping problems that the MM had with Adobe software. Easily replaces the mouse with it's many configurations. The best!

A MUST HAVE - RETIRE THE MOUSE

    • Written by from TOPEKA

I have been an Apple owner since 2001. I have bought hardware every year since and can say there have been a few moments when your impressed with the innovation and that it deserves recognition of being a "game changer."

I am very pleased with the Mgic Trackpad, I agree with some reviews that state that this hit the market without being introduced in a large audience or in some notable way but, don't let that fool you!

This amazing little pad is revolutionary in every way; I have a MBA and use a Aluminum Keyboard regularly but enjoy my trackpad so much and have had to be consigned to using my mouse when I am at the office or in "desktop" mode.

However, this is the "game changer" that was missing! Meaning I can quickly type on my Aluminum Keyboard and can now enjoy the gesture based trackpad/ mouse too!

If you wonder "how" it may feel to use it in that configuration; well I can attest that it is very natural and unnoticeable.

    Great Job Product Development Team!
