Buy this product. At the price it is small change compared with how it will transform the way you interact with your computer. Being an iPod Touch owner I am used to interacting directly with its screen. Now, with the Magic Trackpad, you can use similar gestures to control your computer. Using your fingers to move the cursor or swipe pages soon becomes so natural and intuitive that you wonder how you got by with a mere mouse. Freedom from the curse of cables with the Bluetooth connectivity is just the icing on the cake. Super easy setup too. Do yourself a favour and buy a Magic Trackpad.

This is what the apple Lion software is all about! This is brilliant & it is fluid & makes the mouse almost redundant works for me!

It is very common to drop these beautiful designed in California aluminium tools. Once dropped, most like you will get a dent especially near the edges. If you are unlucky, the dent is next to the power button. Depend on the damage, the power button could get stuck by the dent. You will get into issue when holding it for pairing. Take out the battery will help you to On or off the device.

The dent effect also affect the wireless keyboard too... :(

I will give it a 5 stars if Apple make it a bit stronger. The aluminium used is way way way to soft for common use.

Very responsive and intelligent. I love how I can do everything with a tap or swipe of a few fingers. No need to grab a mouse, position it, then click a button. Hand and wrist movements are now easy and economical with the track pad. I love it.

Unfortunately, when you are trying to work work with Magic Trackpad while Startup Disk is Bootable USB OS X Lion or Bootable DVD OS X Lion none of Trackpad functions
works except of just Arrow moving !!!!
When you buy this product, make sure you still have some other mouse in order to work in OS X Lion recovery or Main Disk Repair modes!

I asked for a Magic Trackpad for my birthday because I was looking for a swish solution for navigating around my designs while working on Adobe illustrator. Result I got it!

The pros of this stunning little device are plain as day. It looks beautiful sat here next to my equally stunning mac desktop. Design wise undeniably slick.

Added to this the wide variety of gestures available also make the Trackpad a joy to work with be it cruising the world wide web or flicking through folders. It honestly borders on a sic-fi experience.

That said I have a niggle here. For one thing the Magic Trackpad is on occasion perhaps a little smarter than me, acting in conspiracy with my fingers to produce sometimes undesired results. The proximity of gestures are perhaps a little close and I recommend not having all of them active to avoid the potential confusion.

Also my primary motive for owning the Trackpad has been an issue. The pinch zoom is not compatible with Adobe Illustrator CS5. I really hope someone more technically adept than me is working on this as I am typing this review.

So 4 out of 5 is the result. But it is definitely worth having one.

Really, I do. It's a neat concept, but after a few weeks of getting used to it I still find it to be rather frustrating. I often find it highlighting and moving things against my will. It doesn't always respond to my attempts to click on links on icons no matter how many times I touch it. Other times a single touch will highlight the entire screen and not let go.
I'm sure there are fans who will declare that I simply don't know how to use it. They're probably right. But how good can it be if the product requires weeks of practice to master? Ease of use is a biggie. I went back to using my magic mouse and my blood pressure dropped instantly. Speaking only for myself, the Magic Trackpad is a rare disappointment from a company that usually hits it out of the park.

...the mouse is dead, that's all I have to say.....I caress my mac now :-)

I've always been a fan of the multi-gesture until i found out that i couldn't us it for my 2007 macbook pro until this product came out and boy was I ECSTATIC!!!!!!!! This product is by far genius! I recommend this product to every one who doesn't want to use a mouse and wants to spice things up a bit at their workplace or home.

I bought a Magic Trackpad over a week ago and I am just finally becoming comfortable with it. In fact, I am beginning to absolutely LOVE it. If you are an old ex windows (like me) be prepared fora long learning curve. Well worth the effort when you get there!
