    Trackpad = Magic

    • Written by from Mckinney

When Apple introduced this product, I thought they were crazy. I didn't think this product solved any real customer need. After trying it out in the store, I decided to buy one and play with it. After using it for the last year, I will *never* go back to a mouse again. I use one on my MBP & another on my MacMini. It really is Magic.

    Gift for the 'rents

I bought the magic trackpad as a Christmas present for my parents. They use it with their iMac and love it! it has plenty of space to move your fingers and clicking does not take a lot of force. Battery life is really good, too.

yay for Apple getting it right!

    • Written by from VANCOUVER

have been an Apple fan for over a decade, but have always loathed their mouse. Even the newer Magic Mouse is a brick to move and is too large and heavy for the comfort of my hand & wrist. The Magic Trackpad is AMAZING though! The customization options really seal the deal for me. Now I can use über light touches to control and move the cursor. Working in Logic & Garageband is a beautiful thing with the trackpad, and much to my surprise so is Photoshop. Before I had to hear every click of the mouse, now there is nothing but QUIET! love, love, love- Apple is finally doing it right! Just say no to mouse.

    Love it!

Makes my sturdy old Mac Pro (2007) feel like new again. The gesture functionality works seamlessly, setup was painless and quick. Much less strain on my wrist, already bad after two decades of heavy mouse usage.

Dislikes: nothing yet, will update if I find anything.

Likes: Ease of setup. Ability to single and double click on pad (has to be setup in preferences), pinch and zoom (especially useful on large montors.

Can not be happier with the purchase.

For those with carpel/wrist/flexor muscle issues, this product is a life-saver. With just a quick config change, just a mere tap with any finger anywhere on the pad is a click. Within a day, I noticed the difference.

This thing really is magical. I would definitely recommend to any mac mini, iMac, or Macbook w/ external display setup. Really compliments OS X and all of its awesome features.

    So far, so good

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I fell in love with this peripheral at the 5th Ave Apple Store where it is paired with nearly all iMacs on display. It's not ergonomic when standing but when seated normally, I find it to be a perfect angle. For several years I have been using a Kensington Expert Mouse and its angle did cause discomfort after some time so I had to take frequent breaks which wasn't always good for productivity.

So far I haven't had any issues with the trackpad. Time will tell I suppose, particularly regarding the battery life as many have mentioned. I used to despise tap-to-click but now I embrace it. It's a perfect match for my late-2011 MPB. When I'm at home it sits on a stand and I use the slim wired keyboard and the trackpad. This is a pretty sweet setup.

    Nice Product

    • Written by from Amesbury

Although from what I've seen of the magic mouse it seems very nice, when i got my new iMac, I opted for the trackpad. I had tried it out in the store and it seemed good, but the real reason I got it instead of the magic mouse was because of the multitouch gestures. I got my iMac just after lion came out, And I wanted to be able to take full advantage of the new multitouch gesture feature. I was not disappointed. I think it's even better than a notebook because there is much more space to track and to use multitouch gestures. I was even more glad because I heard that in Mountain Lion there will be even more multitouch gestures. It paired easily with my Mac and I haven't had many problems with the Bluetooth connectivity. I love how both the keyboard and the trackpad are wireless. It makes my desk look so much less cluttered. The design is beautifully simple and sturdy. It fits right in with the wireless keyboard. My only complaint is that it is not good for gaming at all (which isn't surprising). Even so, if I had gotten the magic mouse, I probably would have gotten a dedicated gaming mouse. I am very satisfied and would recommend this product.

Loving it beyond words for general use and surfing : )

For many years I've been using high end gamer rated mouses for high quality desktop computers with very little experience using laptops or trackpads. My initial impression was extremely pleasant as I played with its settings and learned to do things a bit differently with my beloved 24" iMac still running Snow Leopard. Within the first day I came to absolutely love the effortless feather touch interaction for all general computer uses. Only occasionally do I feel the need to plug the mouse back in if I'm editing large batches of images as I'm not a big fan of its hard click. The connectivity is flawless here and battery consumption not even worth discussing as the unit stayed at 100% with constant use seemingly forever and the batteries still haven't needed to be changed. Would love to see it integrated with the Apple keyboard as others have said along with the "hard click" completely replaced with something else feather touch as well ?

    AMAZING! .. & I'm no techie

    • Written by from Germantown

I had a 2008 macbook(the last of the bulkier body white ones) that I had to retire recently because ..well, it was just time. I now have the 21.5 inch iMac which comes with the option of coming with a mouse or trackpad. I choose the trackpad cause I'd read and heard it was similar to browsing on a laptop. & it is! I love it!!! It makes the transition from laptop to desktop much easier because it feels.. not so different. It;s also sleek looking and just nice looking next to the wireless keyboard. Makes for a clean work space. I was back and forth before deciding but I'm glad I went for it. Try it!

    Nicely made.

This gives me full gesture support on my white MacBook. It also doubles up when I use the aluminium MacBook on a pedestal with an external keyboard. The final piece in the puzzle for me is that I hope it gets support on the iPad, as this would make my use of it complete.

Best way to interface with a computer

    • Written by from Bayonne

I absolutely love my magic trackpad; however, I am one of those people who hates the tap-to-click function, so I disabled it . I have had no connection issues whatsoever, unlike other bluetooth devices. And those extra inches make a huge difference over the built in trackpads... I wish I had it with me right now. Also, I think its more ergonomic than the laptop trackpad.

    STRAIGHT OUT OF STAR TREK!

    • Written by from Walnut Creek

Hands down the best mouse I have ever owned. It took a few days to get used to but it is the most elegant and easy way to control a computer for professional or day to day use. I have big hands and it is just the perfect fit. Plus, since it is blue tooth you can just hold it in your palm sitting back on a chair if you have a mac mini hooked up to a TV. Totally worth the money!!! Plus it just looks and feels cool :)

The Track Pad is better than any mouse I have ever used!!! I thought it would be hard to get used to, but it was extremely easy, and the gestures make working on my Apple computer so much easier. Apple has done it again with this excellent technology. Can't wait to see what is announced on March 7th! I pad 3! I pad 3!

    Get the Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from Rancho Palos Verdes

The Magic Trackpad allows you to interface with your Mac the same way you interface with your Macbook. Simplifies going back and forth between my two computers and provides more capability than a mouse. I really like the way the track pad worked on my Macbook Air and wanted the same sort of interface for my MacPro and this does the job. It links up with computer easily and the battery life is impressive. It just works!
