Nice looking product, but drop it 2 feet on a tile floor and it will never work again.

I love the look of the new remote it matches well with the macbook pro iMac and mac pro However it still uses IR which is outdated and doesn't always work as desired. Range is limited and CANNOT be obstructed whatsoever. I wish the next remote to use 2.4GHz wireless technology.

This new aluminum remote is definitely better than the previous plastic one, that resembled an iPod shuffle. The buttons click easily, and there aren't thousands of buttons that you have to memorize. But, unless you have apple TV and lost the remote, or you need a new remote for your mac/iPod dock, then you wouldn't need this accessory.

I bought the apple remote for my macbook pro about a year ago and since then it has been washed and dried in the laundry twice and it still works! Plus it only shows small signs of abused (ex. the edges are shinier and more polished looking than the rest of the body.) This is one of my smartest purchases for my mac.

My wife lost our remote in a recliner and it got all smushed up when she forced it closed. The whole thing is pretty bent up and the battery slot won't open. There are some fairly large scratched up chunks of the casing gone, but miraculously the thing still works. We'll be purchasing another one to replace it anyway so we don't cut ourselves, but this little thing can take a serious beating and keep right on working.

Bought it to go with my new MacBook Air, guess what: no infrared port... Really?!
Now I have to carry around a bulky USB presenter instead of the nice Apple one.

Apple please mention this in the description of the remote!

I wish you could select playlists and whatnot. I feel like that wouldn't be too difficult to implement. Just a small software change in the Music app. I also have a GREAT idea for Apple so that you can use the remote to control iTunes on any computer (Mac AND Windows). That also requires a small software change too. If the remote was more useful, I would give it 5 stars. Otherwise, it's nice being able to control music from across the room, and the size and design is nice too.

Great for watching movies on my 27" LED cinema display connected to my Macbook Pro.

As with all Apple products, the remote feels great in the hands, has a good weight, and the buttons offer excellent feedback. Love the visual aesthetics of the remote. I hold it in my hand even when I don't need to. It is THAT great.

It DOES work with the MacBook, you just have to pair it with the MacBook.

I love this little thing say when I'm in my living room watching Apple TV I can flawlessly move through it. Then when I wanna go to my room I can use it on my imac for songs and movies. Def a Great buy for a low Price!
