i just got this a few days ago and i already know ill be useing it untill it breaks, which probably wont be for a wile because it seems very well constructed. as for the functionality with the macbook, it works great. macbooks have an ir sensor you just need to pair the remot before use i wish it was a little shorter but i can still put in my pocket and take it anywhere i take my macbook. great job 

Most Amazing Remote Ever!!

if your a computer nerd, you can even get this thing to work with other things too. I know a 'friend ', you might say, but he was able to take the IR port and put it into other devices, i can use this thing on my apple TV, not only that but i got it to work with my projector and my HP. But not for very long, because mixing apple/mac/OS X with other operating systems is just wrong. So i took it out of my hp, and never dared to put in there again. But it was fun to figure out how to do it!

Great remote design, it's a pleasure to hold. That being said it's very small and if you lose it you need to have home sharing initiated already or you won't be able to sink another device to it. A replacement is surprisingly cheap and syncing a different remote is easy but a scream function in the remote that could be activated by an inconspicuous button on the apple tv itself would be brilliant.

I wish you could select playlists and whatnot. I feel like that wouldn't be too difficult to implement. Just a small software change in the Music app. I also have a GREAT idea for Apple so that you can use the remote to control iTunes on any computer (Mac AND Windows). That also requires a small software change too. If the remote was more useful, I would give it 5 stars. Otherwise, it's nice being able to control music from across the room, and the size and design is nice too.

I suppose it's a good thing that this remote is small. The first thing I said when I opened the box was," wow this remote is really small - we'll have to make sure we keep it somewhere safe." One week later, with two teenage boys in the house, we cannot find the remote anywhere. Looked under sofa and sofa cushions. Cannot find it! We got along for a while using the iphone remote app, but we had to reset the apple airport and it caused the apple tv to no longer work - apple tv needs to be set up again and you cannot do that with the iphone remote app - has to be done with the apple remote. What were the designers thinking when they designed it so small! It should have come with a built-on honing device.

It is a Awesome Remote that i got on christmas and it is small light wight and awesome because it is made by apple and apple is awesome

It should have volume control. Otherwise, it's very good.
