    Brilliant

I love the original Apple TV remote. Yes, it may go missing in the couch (but others do too). Yes it is a little slow when you have to enter long passwords. However, it's elegant simplicity makes it much easier to use for the most common functions, like pause, play, stop, and searching on the Apple TV on-screen menus. You can use it in the dark, without having to look at a single button. And I love the way it feels; slightly cool to the touch when you first pick it up; the smooth, but not slick surfaces and the elegant, almost silent click. No one but Apple would have even considered this approach.

If the new Apple TV comes with a touchpad, as has been mentioned, it will likely take two hands to use it. It will also require that you look at the touchpad to select the more numerous commands. It may offer more functions and capability, like the other multi-button remotes on the coffee table.

The current Apple remote is like jeans and a black turtleneck. Cool, efficient and timeless.

    Very sleek and basic

I bought one with my last MacBook Pro, a 13" mid-2012 non-retina and when it had to be replaced because of numerous failures, I upgraded to a retina pro and I didn't realize that there isn't an IR receiver on the retinas sadly. Now it's just an extra in case we lose the one for the AppleTV.

    No front row!??

Bought a new Imac for $800, dissapointed it didn't come with new remote. Realized my old remote works on the new iMac minus the menu button which apparently apple got rid of? What's the point of losing a perfectly good feature? Hope to see the function restored in a future OS update.

    Great!

    • Written by from Park Ridge

    Sleek, beautiful and extremely durable.

I've had this remote for 2 years with no problems and great battery life. I also love the intuitive design.

Only issue: This all-in-one remote works on multiple Apple products. So, if you're on the computer and using your Apple TV, make sure that the remote is only focused on one of the two, otherwise you're in for a full-blown cacophony.

Also works with my Apple TV

    • Written by from Dalton

I needed a replacement remote for my Apple TV, since the one that came with it had been damaged. No one at Apple could confirm that this was the right one, but, I took a chance. Surprise! It works perfectly and looks identical to the original I may order another one to go with this one. This remote is so slim that it's easy to loose. Fortunately, the Apple TV lets you use other unused remotes with it, so I'll let the kids use another bigger remote, and, I'll keep this one safe--I hope.

This product is great and works with all the macs and apple tv's in my house. If you are to get this product "better touch tools" it is an app and is free, it allows you to customize every button on the remote for mac. Makes the uses for this great product practically endless.

I got one of these waaay back in 2007 with my macbook pro. It's great for presentations and media, but the most fun I've had with it is making other people's computers fall asleep and change their volume. On a college campus, it's pranks galore!

    Only one flaw

    • Written by from Timmins

Love this remote! The only flaw is its too small and gets misplaced often. I've bought a replacement one only to find the original and after a few days they are both missing! Lol

These remtoes are great. I actually signed on here to buy a new one, because I got drunk last night and left it sitting in a puddle of water for a few hours. It seemed to like it stopped working, but I checked it again before buying a new one, and it started working perfectly again.

If your using this remote with a mac look for bettertouchtool, it is a must and infinitely extends the functionality of this remote by allowing you to customize the commands, these controls can be application specific so it can be used as a powerpoint remote etc.

    works good

It seems to work fine for me on my late 2010 MB pro 17 that came with snow leopard and was upgraded to Mt. Lion a couple weeks ago. I just bought the remote since installing Mt. Lion, so I can't speak to it working with previous OS's or not. The people who can't get it to work with Mt. Lion may want to trouble shoot more, as it works with mine.....

Great little remote. If you lose it in you couch, don't just buy another like Juan O. They have a iPhone app that works the apple tv too. Gotta use your eyes and brain though.

I got this remote because I'm lazy. I want to play my movies and music without getting up and when I received it today, that's exactly what I did and it worked perfectly. Easiest setup in the world, very light and thin, and simple to use. 10/10

    For College Classes

    • Written by from rockwell

I bought this today for a class project. I was using a wireless mouse to go through power point presentations... and after being embarrassed by accidentally right clicking... I decided to get this thing. Its small and feels flimsy, but the uni-body design reassures me it is strong. on top of that, im using a Macbook Pro Mid 2011 upgraded to Lion, and it works great. People need to realize its a remote, not a genie.
