Reviews for Apple iPad Dock

Even though the case has an opening on the bottom for the iPad female socket, the edge of the case won't let the docking stand's male connector insert properly into the iPad. The regular power cable works fine though.

I'm surprised Apple didn't notice this "incompatibility" with the case. Usually Apple is *so* good in making sure all components work together seamlessly.

Otherwise, the dock works as expected (I rated the case 2 stars since I think the "bug" is in the case design).

This dock works well for me, i dont like to use a case only if i bring my ipad out of the house which isnt to often. Also i have this dock and apples universal dock built in to my headboard above my bed (took about a day) but you cant see any wires and they can charge nicely and my phone dock is even hooked up to speakers, works very nicely.

The positives are that it looks nice, doesn't take up much space then the iPad is out and is well balanced. The downside is that there doesn't seem to be a case or skin that works with this. :-( I'm not sure what Apple could have done to meet the desire for a small dock but working with skins but they didn't figure something out, and with the number of people that add skins and cases, that's a surprise.

If you don't plan to have a skin, get this, it's slick. But if you have a skin, weigh the fact that you need to remove it every time you use the dock.

If you have an iPad then you'll need the case. The Apple case is nice and works well. However, once you have the case on your iPad, you can't fit it on the docking station. So back I go to the Apple Store to return this product.

I'm upset! first thing I tried was plugging it in only to find out it won't fit with the apple brand case. I feel stupid I should've looked online reviews before I bought this. I didn't, b/c I wouldn't think they would mess up like this!!!!

Having no case for a month, I was excited to receive my dock and case on the same day. Trying out the dock it worked great. Then I fitted my case onto my iPad (a tight fit) but was extremely disappointed that the iPad wouldn't fit into the dock. The case on the back is too thick. Turns out, once you buy the case, you don't even really need the dock either. Just flip your iPad upside down (screen rotation) and plug your connector in there. I guess the only downfall would be you wouldn't have access to the headphone port. Try it on the side.

This product should be renamed "iPad vertical stand"

Too limited for any real use. Portrait one means you can't use with a keyboard landscape-oriented programs. Requirement to remove iPad from case means I would only use this for aesthetic reasons and it isn't that attractive. Would recommend an ipad stand and the regular dock connector instead. Nice stand options in the Apple store or go to an office store and try out business card holders or look for a plate holder in a housewares store.

If you are a user who 1) has a case on your iPad or 2) has any interest in docking in landscape view then just walk away now.

No case including the Apple case works with the dock unless you want to cut into your case given that the spacing is way to tight.

I would also vote to just skip this and use the clever business card holder dock that a lot of people are doing or rely on the case itself to act as a stand.

I agree with the many other reviewers- this is a complete waste as I cannot put the ipad on it with the apple case on it. That is just dumb. And a waste of my money as well.
