Reviews for Apple Wireless Keyboard - Italian

While it is nice not to have a bunch of cords tangling up on your desk, this product is not worth that convenience. The main problem I have with it is that it has no numeric keypad. If you do a lot of work with numbers, you will definitely miss this feature. Apple makes a wireless numeric keypad, but I'm told it doesn't work and can actually be dangerous (see the reviews for this item for details).

Surely Apple can do better.

I just recently bought the new iMac, which comes with this wireless keyboard. It looks nice on my desk, but constantly needs to be given new batteries. But there are no other iMac keyboards, really, so I guess this is just a warning to keep a box of batteries near your computer.

Otherwise, the design is rather elegant and aplomb the way it can be moved from one spot to another without the cord! I hope I help :)

I have purchased this keyboard mostly because I wanted to be able to type on my iPad, however I find my self using it on my iMac more and more. I have to take one star off because Apple doesn't offer a number trackpad which would be nice but I overall like the style of the keyboard. One other comment is that because this keyboard is wireless you do have to use batteries and I would advise getting the Apple Battery Charger for $29. I also think that $69 is a little overpriced but it is Apple so... Overall awesome product and you will love to get one as well!

Generally speaking the keyboard accomplishes it mission of providing a more overall agile typing. However I am somewhat unsatisfied since you cannot "map" any key to the Home button. Since you very often use this button in real life operation, not having the ability to map it on the wireless keyboard requires you to constantly touch this button on the iPad, this combined with the Magic cover makes quite hard because in order to press this button you must usually hold the iPad so it does not turn over (if standing in the steep position).

Another issue is that the directional arrows do not move the cursor while using the keyboard in an app like Numbers which again somewhat beats the purpose and agility of the keboard because once again you should touch the screen to change the cell you are currently working/editing.
I think that if apple could provide a way to map these keys or even a key combo to achieve such a tasks the keyboard would still be great...

I love having a wireless keyboard for my mac. I hope that in the future they will develop one that can be charged with a usb or ipod cable, the way you charge a controller for a ps3. Works great other than that.

I had to write a review on this product only because I tried another brand of wireless keyboard thinking they would be basically the same. They were not. I tried it out over night and took it back to the store the next day and got the apple keyboard. The apple keyboard was cheaper than the less popular brand and the keys were more responsive and registered clicks were spot on! I highly reccomend it! I love it with my ipad3! There are some features that don't work with the ipad, but for heavy typing for long periods of time the ipad3 was a bit frustrating. I find this keyboard very impressive and helpful!

The key board looks good and works well. Issue which need to be addressed is the frequent disconnection and re-connection, with Imac, for reasons unknown even when new batteries are used. Even most trivial jolts can trigger a disconnection but most often the reason is not clear. Pressing the power button sometimes restores the connection and sometimes connection is established spontaneously.

I bought a wireless keyboard for my iPad2 because I wanted to journal and type without using the virtual keyboard. Unfortunately, a few weeks into using the keyboard, I have noticed that the keyboard will randomly start to double-type words when I use it. I have gotten so frustrated with it that, having changed batteries, re-paired it with the iPad, and found no solution, I no longer use this. It is now just another expensive piece of technology sitting around at home. I am disappointed with this purchase. Hopefully it will work better when I pair it with the Mac Mini that I plan to buy next year.

I saw a number of people comment that this device suffers from a lack of a lot of keys that are critical. I can definitely accept that having a numeric keypad would be useful, but aside from that one part, there actually ISN'T anything that you can't handle.

They key is to use the FN key and learn a few keystrokes. For example, there isn't a DELETE key that lets you remove characters before the cursor, but holding FN + delete (backspace) does it.

Likewise, you can emulate the HOME or END keys with CMD + Arrow Up or Arrow Down. These aren't really new keystrokes, just ones that we're used to having single keys for instead. Once you get past that idea, they keyboard is excellent. Mine is hooked up to a Mini with a Magic Mouse in the living room and I can use it perfectly from my couch across from the TV (10 + feet no problem - have tested it to 20 with no problems either). If Apple adds a number pad, so much the better, but this product has been excellent for two weeks already.

First let me say that this keyboard is fantastic, very lightweight and portable! The only problem is that on the MC184LL/B (The Lion Model) the Brightness, Volume, and iPod Keys do not work! Therefore this product does not work as advertised and I can't give it a full rating at this time. Hopefully in iOS 5 this problem will be fixed then I will be able to re-rate it.
