    No delete key

I recently bought at the Apple Store in NY the new iPad and Apple Wireless Keyboard in Spanish to use with my Apple computers and the iPad. The iPad, great! but was disappointed by the keyboard because it does not have a delete key: you can delete letters, etc. backwards, but no letters or anything else to your right, something people who write do constantly. Can someone offer a solution? Thanks.

Not All Function Keys Are Compatible With iPad2

Very disappointing to find that the only real use I can get out of this keyboard is typing into Notes or Pages. Still have to tap the screen to navigate around the Home Screen. Does not work with App. Will be returning this keyboard.

    Great Keyboard

I use this keyboard and the Magic Mouse on my desk because my 13" MacBook Pro is back touching my wall and my desk is like 2-3 feet long. It is good this way because I don't wanna reach all the way up. The reason that I didn't sell this with my MacMini is because I saw that if you connect something to the Display (ThunderBolt) Port and close it, you can still use the mac closed but with a mouse and keyboard. I am going to buy a MiniDisplayPort To a VGA of an old !5" monitor for my desk.

Good, but needs more iPad Functions

This keyboard is good but needs more iPad functions. It seems like auto capitalization of the first letter in a new word does not happen when using the keyboard. Ability to switch apps would be great. Also things like being able to turn the font bold or underlined or italicized in Pages by using the keyboard would be good. esc key to exit apps. I'm sure there are more suggestions but these are mine. I also use this for my Windows 7 PC and it works good.

    Overall I like it.

Do what it should do, beautiful and light. Apple should make this keyboard with a pad attached and that's it . the perfect wireless thing.
if you are 3 meters away , you have to find a table to put your wireless mouse too, and everything starts to be not practical at all. this keyboard should have pad, Thanks.

    Nice design, poor functionality!

This is the first Apple product that I seriously hate. Cannot regain connectivity after system loss. Going back to the wired keyboard!

    Garbage.

The batteries leaked and fused the cap. I tried everything trying to pry it open. Ultimately, it's going to be recycled. Waste of $70. This really should have been swapped out for a new one. Apple refuses to do anything about it. There are many posts on here, and ifixit about this issue.

Another example of form over function from Apple.

I just bought this keyboard a few weeks ago to use with my iPad, and now I am using it for mac Mac Pro and Macbook Pro. I love the fast response of the low profile keys and am thinking about getting a couple more to have one for every device. Amazing Product!

on 2nd keyboard - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I'm on my second keyboard now and they are great while they last, but both of them had the same issue within 6 months of purchase. They continually disconnect from the host Mac. I have found MANY blogs on this exact issue and followed all of the "fixes" without any success for either keyboard. I figured I had a lemon with the first one, but obviously it is a product issue. Don't waste your money...

This is good if you like typing on a laptop keyboard all the time. I don't.

And, furthermore, I know I speak for many others out there who appreciate a full-size keyboard when they're sitting at a desk and have the extra 8 inches or so to spare.

So, why can't Apple broaden their horizons just a bit and please make a wireless keyboard for the rest of us who prefer typing on a normal-size keyboard, and especially a number pad?! I think this single version was a very short-sighted/narrow-minded move.

Until then, I recommend staying away from this anti-ergonomic travesty that will have your fingers cursing you, and go for Logitech's Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for Mac, like I did. (And, hey, Apple... I'd gladly replace that with YOUR full-size version if/when you ever do reconsider and come out with one.)

very good, same as macbook 13" keyboard

Great keyboard. Performs just like my macbook 13" keyboard from four years ago. I was mostly interested in the compatibility with my macbook and iPhone. Very good with the mac, and a few surprises with the iPhone. Typing works, volume, pause/play, brighteness up/down, command a, command c and command v all work as you would expect, eject brings up the soft keyboard in an app with text, caps lock. Certainly way more functions than I expected to work, but alas no app switching shortcut or anything like the home button mapped to a key or anything. I am super pleased. The idea of using it with the iphone is that i can now take minutes in a meeting without hiding behind a laptop. Also, its much lighter and easier to have a phone and keyboard than a whole computer, that said the phone is not as capable, but it'll do text just fine. thanks for the great product.

wish they had a musical keyboard and mixing board

I love this thing. Too bad Apple doesn't make a musical keyboard and separate mixing board to match this. I would be a nice addition to Garage Band and they would all look sweet together.

    bad space key

I have not use the keyboard hardly and now am starting EMR using my iPad- but the keyboard space key sticks down - still functions but during typing it is hard to know if it is working or not because it stays flat. I suspect that after typing for a few weeks or less this will not work at all. I can pull it up and it stays for a few letters but then sticks down again - a LEMON? Stored in original box until 2 days ago.

A great keyboard, and as others have noted, really improves one's typing accuracy.

My only issue is with the lack of a few critical keys--like a control key on the right side of the keyboard, and page up, page down, home keys. While there are key combinations that achieve the same effects, some are clumsy.

(I do not miss the number pad--and I do a LOT of numeric analysis--but the truth is, typing numbers is more accurate when done the "old fashioned" way with the number keys on the main keyboard).

    On/off could be better

    • Written by from Washington

45 of 49 people found this useful

Keyboard is great. But I am constantly frustrated by the lack of a decent on-off. To turn on, you press the power button. Easy. To turn off, you have to hold the power button for a long time until it goes off, which means the light goes off (usually). Probably fine if you're using with a desktop computer, but pretty awful with an iPad and you need to take the iPad away from the keyboard for a few minutes. Because if the keyboard is on, you can't type on the iPad without it.
