    Best Keyboard

Our wireless keyboard came with our iMac going on 3 1/2 years ago. We love the convenience of the wireless design and the comfort of use. The batteries past a long time. Ours just died because a kid spilled a full glass of milk onto it. Otherwise it'd be going strong. I'm ordering a new one presently.

I like not having the cord, but the action isn't great on this thing. The keyboard has this really cheap, hollow, plastic-like feel to it. It's more Fischer-Price than Apple. I've had the wireless for about a month. I'm trying to like it, but I just can't used to the feel of the new keyboard. If I had a chance for a do-over, I wouldn't have bought this thing.

    Excellent Keyboard

This is a high quality and well designed device. The first thing to say about this keyboard is, it syncs up very easily and reliably to your desktop or iPad. It took me about 90 seconds to sync this keyboard, and that includes checking to see if there were batteries in the device. Ever since then, the device has continued to sync perfectly with no issues.

This keyboard is small and light, but feels sturdy and is not bendable. Though the keyboard is very small, the keys themselves are fairly large. The design of the keyboard is beautiful, and fans of apples current aluminum look will like it. The device always "Just works" and you dont have to turn it off an on between uses, though there is a small delay when the keyboard has been idle before the first input is received. This is to be expected and not a hassle. Great keyboard and at 69.99 not a bad deal either.

I use this keyboard and the Magic Mouse on my desk because my 13" MacBook Pro is back touching my wall and my desk is like 2-3 feet long. It is good this way because I don't wanna reach all the way up. The reason that I didn't sell this with my MacMini is because I saw that if you connect something to the Display (ThunderBolt) Port and close it, you can still use the mac closed but with a mouse and keyboard. I am going to buy a MiniDisplayPort To a VGA of an old !5" monitor for my desk.

I have the very first iteration of this keyboard, if you don't spill on it or abuse it, it will last. Mine is several years old and works like new, the only complaint is the older ones don't have a Launchpad button, so since I upgraded my server to Lion I need to buy a new one.

I type upwards of 100wpm, and I type a lot, every day. I've never babied this keyboard, and it still responds as though it's new. There's no other keyboard that responds the way this one does.

Purchased in 2010 to accompany my magic mouse, this has been put through its paces for ver twenty months. Has worked great with both my iPad and 2009 MacBook aluminum model, and has made getting work done while traveling much easier. It's been pretty durable and survived a couple of spills in its time. Only issue is that after loosing the end cap accidentally once, it was hard to find a replacement anywhere other than online auction sites which took over a month.

Best keyboard ever for iPad 2

This keyboard has been great for my iPad 2. I bought the joule iPad stand to go along with it and I must say I use this on a daily basis. Don't waste your time on them other built in keyboards that are attached to the case because they are hard to type on. Not comfortable at all. Those looking for a great keyboard the apple Bluetooth is the way to go.

Angle is too high to be ergonomically correct

I was so excited to get this keyboard and the wireless mouse! Unfortunately, after trying it out for a few days, my wrists were hurting. I am a home computer user, nothing too extensive - email, bills, and shopping. I had some repetitive injury to my wrists/tendons in the past (who doesn't have that these days?)

The area where the batteries are inserted tilts the keyboard up a little too high. My wrists were no longer in neutral, but they were in extension. Add typing while planting my wrists for stabilization, along with my tendonitis, and I was a sad camper knowing this keyboard wouldn't work for me.

    I really wanted this keyboard.
I ended up getting the regular wired keyboard instead.

Basically, if you have some existing wrist/tendon/carpal tunnel pain, take this for a test drive first.

I though this was an iPad accessory? Barely any support!

I purchased this keyboard based on the assumption it would perform multiple functions. Some fuctions touted by Apple include being able to control brightness, volume and to change tracks in iTunes. None of these features work with the original iPad. Apple generally has very good support and products, however this one comes up short. It has about three out of five stars on the Apple website. Currently the keyboard is only good for using the letter keys and typing only - no other fuctions work. I know that's the main reason you want one, but as you're working and you suddenly decide your music is a little loud, or you want to skip a track, having the ADVERTISED FEATURES work would be nice. Also, so many fuctions are overlooked, its really almost shoddy of Apple. There is no way to scoll on a webpage (despite having arrow keys) or now way to go back or forward through web pages (despite a multitude of buttons available for such functions). This keyboard may work fine with a full-fledged mac, but because it TOUTED AS AN IPAD ACCESSORY by Apple, you would think they would make it actually perform with an iPad, instead of it being useless for anything but typing. Think hard before your purchase this. It FEELS like you suddenly has a full-fledged laptop in front of you with a dedicated keyboard -- unfortunately the Apple Wireless Keyboard does next to nothing to control the ipad. Major disappointment Apple.

The wireless keyboard works great with both my MacBook Pro and my iPad! No problems setting it up on either device. Provides the "tactile" feel you need to really type on the iPad. Would highly recommend this keyboard to everyone!

Works well with iMac, not so well with iPad

This keyboard installed flawlessly with my iMac and worked beautifully. However, it was very finicky when trying to get it to pair with the iPad. I finally got it to pair, but when I later went back to use it with the iPad several hours later, I had to go through the procedure of turning the keyboard on and off several times before it would work. In the end, I decided to return the keyboard since I mainly got it to work with the iPad, and in addition, since I do a fair amount of work in Microsoft Office in a Windows environment on the Mac, I missed the added keys (home, end, etc.) on the wide keyboard.

This is a great keyboard... for awhile. I've heard countless stories of them failing. Mine was brand new a year ago and now it doesn't work. This is one of the products that Apple has simply not mastered yet. Very Disappointed.

I recently purchased one of these for desktop-like uses for my Macbook. It functions very well. I can be 7 feet away from my charging macbook and still get good performance out of this keyboard. I have nothing to complain about. Battery consumption is relatively low based on how long I've had it. It was easy to adapt to since the only difference is that it isn't on my mac. One final thing is that it fits excellently on my keyboard tray allowing me to also put my magic mouse on the tray. Overall, its a very nice keyboard. I highly recommend it.

    Good keyboard, One flaw

I bought this keyboard and have had it for about a week or so, and really fell in love with it. One major flaw, and I understand its not with all of them, but the keyboard is not centered right. When I hit the left "shift" key, the keyboard seems to bounce on the left side. The rubbers of the keyboard dont seem to be aligned correctly. In other words the keyboard rocks side to side when typing. Very annoying. Because i have lost the receipt to this keyboard I have put scotch tape under one of the rubbers to even it out.

    Easiest setup EVER!

    • Written by from Arlington

28 of 29 people found this useful

I just purchased the keyboard and I have to say, the setup time was the fastest and easiest setup of anything I have ever installed. Unlike the statement above says: "install on the computer first", you don't need to do that at all for the ipad2. It takes more time to get it out of the box then it does to set it up. Pull it out of the box, turn the power button on (on the right), turn bluetooth on in the utilities app and punch in the code it tells you to punch in. Boom. Done. I'll have to use it a while before I can give the product a 5 but it is so compact and clean. Anxious to see how long the batteries last.
