Great Size, Good Keyboard Feel - Now I can touch type on my iPad 2

    • Written by from Lagrangeville

This keyboard is perfect for use with the iPad 2. I long ago taught myself to use the number keys at the top instead of a number pad which I found inconvenient since I had to shift my view to the right and look away from the screen. The small size of the keyboard fits well with the iPad 2 and yet it's large enough for touch typing without feeling cramped. It has a very solid feel, it should since it's backed by a solid aluminum plate. This product finally makes the iPad 2 useful for text entry. I paired it with my iPad 2 in about 2 seconds, no problems.

Great, compact, easy to use, reliable keyboard. Wish there was an expanded version with a numeric keypad on the side.

    Perfect COMPACT Keyboard!!! A+A+A+A+A+

I am absolutely loving this purchase. I bought the Magic Mouse (great as well) and the Apple rechargeable batteries which definitely costs more then using a usb keyboard, but if the batteries really last 10 years, then I don't mind charging them up! If you are used to a laptop keyboard like I am, then you won't miss the number pad. This is a great and simple keyboard that feels great and is totally responsive.

I love it! After 2 weeks of daily use of at least 5-6 hours my rechargeable batteries say they are holding 100% charge. It appears Apple fixed the bug where it said they were 80% full.

    Enjoy!

    Best Keyboard ever

This is in many ways the perfect keyboard going. It is so sleek and stunning, in combination with a magic mouse it makes a 17 inch macbook pro feel like a desktop computer. The issue of missing keys really becomes a non-issue after using this for a few weeks even people that work with numbers such as myself manage without the keypad in a breeze. Great, what more could be said...

    AWESOME KEYBOARD

    • Written by from West palm beach

JUST SO THRILLED WITH THIS LITTLE KEYBOARD. IT IS THIN AND LIGHTWEIGHT, AND CORDLESS! MAKING IT EXTREMELY PORTABLE. I ALSO LIKE THAT YOU CAN USE IT WITH THE IPAD2 , TOO. IT GIVES YOU MORE SCREEN TO WORK WITH BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE THE TOUCHSCREEN KEYBOARD UP WHILE USING IT. HOWEVER, IT DOES HAVE A KEY THAT'LL BRING IT UP, IF YOU DO FIND YOU NEED IT. I DOUBT IT, THOUGH. DEFINITELY GETS THE THUMBS UP FROM ME....AND HOPEFULLY YOU, TOO. I CONSIDER IT A DEFINITE MUST HAVE, NOW THAT I HAVE ONE.

    Practical & Useful!

    • Written by from Maple

I bought this with my I-Pad, thinking that it would allow me to complete my work quicker, and I must say, this has been a worthwhile investment! It works like any other regular keyboard, its light (making it easy to carry around), and makes typing emails and writing assignments that much more easier!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!!!

    Best keyboard I've ever used

    • Written by from Dyersburg

I love flat, minimal keyboards. This is the ideal board for both the design fan and the Unix geek. It's exactly what a keyboard needs to be, no more, no less. Nice touches include the power button on one side and the battery cover on the other, the green power light that just magically appears through the microperforations (similar to a MacBook's sleep light), and the little diagram on the underside showing the direction the batteries go in.

I eagerly await an update to the new Apple TV that allows it to receive input from this keyboard.

    Great keyboard

    • Written by from havertown

This keyboard is a great choice for a wireless work environment. It lasts about 2 months on a charge and I never turn it off. It also works great with my iPhone and iPad. You can do command + x/c/v to cut copy and paste on the iPad. You can also change the brightness and volume using it. This keyboard is great for those who want to stay mobile. I have had it for 6 months without a single problem. The aluminum also gives it a sturdy feel.

    Fabulous Keyboard

I have used this keyboard for about a year with my MacBook Pro in clamshell (closed) mode. It has the best feel of the four keyboards I regularly use. Battery life is great. Bluetooth connection is rock solid. I highly recommend it.

    Amazing iPad Keyboard

    • Written by from Cement City

So I made the mistake of buying the 2011 Apple Wireless Keyboard. As of right now the function keys that are supposed to work with the iPad do not do anything. For example, I bought the 2011 one to use with my iPad 2 and I couldn't control the brightness, music, or volume from my keyboard like you should be able to. The 2009 one supports those keys so I'm cluless as to why the newer one does not. The only noticeable different between the two models is the F3 and F4 keys. On the 2009 one (that supports iPad function keys) the F4 button is has a circle on it instead of six boxes.

Now that I'm using the correct keyboard with my iPad I'm loving it. People say you have to learn new keystrokes, but it hasn't hindered my typing skills on other keyboards. I love being able to quickly control the brightness, music, and volume right from the keyboard while I'm typing.

It's so lightweight, looks sleek, and is very good on battery.

Thanks, Apple for making a great product, but I also believe the 2011 model should support the special function keys for the iPad.

    Perfect Keyboard experience

    • Written by from Arlington

I, like most people, have learned that rarely things live up their billing. This keyboard is perfect. It is no different than if you were sitting at your desktop, except that the feel of it is much better, it is light, it can be used anywhere, and its easy to tote. If you would like a keyboard for your IPAD, I would strongly recommend it. My favorite thing is how easy it is to set up...you just turn on your bluetooth function on your IPAD2, then turn on the keyboard, and you are ready to go.

I used them on my PC, Mac, iPhone, and even my PlayStation 3. I had it almost a year and I love it! But if you use it on PC or Mac it might use alot of battery life besides that its very good.

This is a really excellent keyboard. I have it paired with my iPad (I'm using it to type this review) and it does the job quite well. The only issue I have is the fact that there are many useless buttons. I know this keyboard is for iMac, but they could at least make it so that the keys can be used. Also, it's really hard to tell whether it's on or off. Overall, well worth the price.

    Works perfectly as promised

    • Written by from Bellingham

I write full time and needed a keyboard so I could use my iPad instead of the bulky laptop. This keyboard works perfectly for me, and I've only changed the batteries twice in nine months...that's with 8 hours of use daily and never remembering to turn it off. I realize keyboard comfort is a personal issue, but I find it incredibly easy on my hands and wrists. It's one of the very few keyboards that does not aggravate my carpal tunnel syndrome. I've never had any pairing issues, and only once had weird key glitches, which occurred when the batteries were low. I cart it around with me cross-country in my shoulder bag and the only precaution I take with it is to remove the batteries when I fly. I'd definitely recommend this product.

    Simply beautiful.

I use the wireless keyboard for my iPad 2 and i had no trouble syncing it with my device. It is small enough to store in my desk, and light enough to put in my bag without me even noticing it. It is so thin yet it doesn't worry you it you drop it. I think that this is the best keyboard I have ever owned, and I have even bought them as presents for friends. Apple did an outstanding job with this.

Great Keyboard... wish they did an extended version with numeric keypad.

    • Written by from Leander

I love the thin keyboards now used by Apple, especially the wireless version. I have 2 on two different iMac's I've got. Older one takes 3 batteries... newer one takes 2. Lithium batteries last forever in these things. I use my computers every day for hours... and the keyboard batteries seem to last a freaking year. Unlike with the mouse. The wireless might mouse (horrible design due to track ball)...actually lasted longer on a set of batteries. My wireless magic mouse eats one set of batteries a month. I remember thinking how odd these flat keyboards were when they first came out, both wired and wireless.... but I pulled out the keyboard from an older G5 I turned into a server, and using that is like typing with a bat....LOL. This is a terrific keyboard.
