    Outstanding Keyboard!

    • Written by from Coon Rapids

I was very reluctant to get this keyboard, I am so happy I did.

Colleagues thought that the small size would be an issue, it isn't and I have big hands. All of the keys are where my fingers think that they will be and the response/feel that it provides is outstanding!

Best keyboard I purchased for work/non-gaming ever!

I am a Window Senior Systems Engineer, so I do a bit of typing every day and it is great!

    Nice job Apple!

    No numeric pad

    • Written by from Ste. Anne

The keyboard itself is great but how can it be that a company like Apple doesn't have a numeric pad on their wireless keyboard? Makes no sense to me.

Love the keyboard, but would like to see a USB Port in the future

    • Written by from Songpa-Gu

I love this keyboard, its light, simple and beautiful. But doesn't have a usb port or a thunderbolt port. I use to have a usb wired-keyboard with a usb port directly on the keyboard. It was very convenient, especially if you go through a lot of usb drives. I would like to see that again on a wireless keyboard. ^^

I understand that the keyboard is using bluetooth technology to connect wirelessly, and that usb 3 speeds are much higher than bluetooth, so there may be some technology issues. But i think it can be done in the near future.

    I hate this keyboard

    • Written by from Nutley

I had to replace my keyboard and I decided to give this one a go. I hate it already. I hate that Apple doesn't make a full size version. I bought the numeric keypad extension but why should I have to do that? It costs more money, requires more batteries, is made of plastic, and because this keyboard is smaller the arrow keys are in the wrong place and the Page/Home keys are missing, as are F13 and up.

I understand that some people may not care about this, but I do and this was the only version I could get. I have to decide if I'm going to keep this or go back to a wired keyboard. It would be a lot better if Apple just made this in a full sized version.

    Could be better

    • Written by from Cold Brook

I've been working with Mac's for many years and it is very common for us to replace the peripherals, particularly the mouse and keyboard with another product, usually Microsoft. They are relatively inexpensive, well made and ugly. Oh well, two out of three aint bad.

    Bad Keys

    • Written by from Ocean View

I just purchased my third keyboard today from Apple, I selected the Apple Standard and I hope I have better luck with it then I did with the 2 wireless keyboards I have purchased in the last 4 years. I love my Mac, but both of the keyboards I purchased have had keys stop responding after about 2 years. Now, in order to type, I'm using BOTH keyboards. My A key went out on keyboard #2, luckily I had kept Keyboard #1 - which had lost it's delete key and h key. I've been typing this way for a few weeks now, looking for a way to repair either board, no luck - so, I'm out another $69. I don't recommend buying this keyboard, unless you budget replacements.

Stopped working after a couple years

    • Written by from Austin

This keyboard worked well for a couple of years and then inexplicably stopped working. I bought a less expensive off-brand version of the same type of keyboard for $30 and so far it has lasted almost as long as the $70 apple wireless keyboard.

    Multiple Keys Stopped Working

    • Written by from Weaverville

It worked for about 1 year. Now half of the keys don't work. No other choice though, I have to buy this same keyboard as a replacement. In my opinion, they should cost about $25-$35. Not worth $70.

Cheap product, not worth the money

    • Written by from Toronto

This keyboard costs about $70.00 and my experience has been that it's built poorly and not to last.

The first apple keyboard I bought lasted about 3 months before the first key popped off and I had to take it into apple for a return. The second one I haven't taken in yet--though I intend too, because the power button has gotten stuck permanently in an 'ON' position and the 'O' key is barely holding on to the keyboard. I don't believe I'm overly rough with the keyboard, I haven't dropped it, but it's gotten dinged up pretty easily just being carried around in a backpack with my ipad and textbook on my way to class. It's just not sturdy enough to be worth the amount of money it costs when there's comparably cheaper models out there that will stand up better.

The bluetooth connecting hasn't been a problem, and since I have a MacBook Pro the keyboard size is basically the same so I find it as comfortable as working on my laptop, and maybe even a little more so because I can place my laptop on a raised service so I don't have to look down constantly. (I have small hands, so no ergonomic issues) Functionally it works great, just expect to take it in to the apple store every three or four months for a new one.

    Would expect better

    • Written by from Powell

Three months after purchase one button just popped off, no reason at all. And I couldn't pop it back in. Batteries don't last as long as I would like. I would like to see a micro USB connector on it and a USB to Micro USB cord shipped with it. Keyboard is a little too condensed, I find myself hitting wrongs keys all the time on this Keyboard. Kind of wishing I went for the extended one, fit my hands better.

    Keyboard is too small

    • Written by from San Francisco

The keyboard would be fine if it was larger. It is too small for most adult male hands. Not only is it prone to typing errors, for me it is an ergonomic disaster due to the cramped position of the hands.

No extended version - productivity killer for pros

    • Written by from Toronto

If you never use the extended keys for serious work, this keyboard is light, convenient and well constructed.

But, for pros who need the extended key set, the lack of an extended version of the wireless keyboard is a serious gap and a productivity killer. I find myself sighing and going back to my wired extended keyboard because the missing keys on the wireless version make it sloooow for work.

As is often the case these days, Apple has a well constructed accessory with serious and obvious usability issues.

Used to like like the keyboard until... The batteries leaked!

    • Written by from Quebec

I enjoyed the keyboard until it stopped working. I figured it was time to change the batteries: and it was! Except that the batteries leaked and one is stuck at the bottom. It seems to have corroded the aluminum case and I cannot get it out. I went to the Apple store hoping to get advice or help but to no avail: this is covered. I understand the limitations ofmthe product but I am upset nonetheless. I can only conclude that this is a design flaw: if there was a lid to access the batteries, it would be more practical to clean when there is trouble of this kind. I am very disappointed. I do not believe I will be able to use this keyboard anymore and it is no more than 4 months old and the batteries are the ones that came with it!

    Stopped working

    • Written by from Raleigh

I had been happy with the keyboard since I bought it 3 months ago but it just stopped working, I changed the batteries three times and it no longer is being picked up by my computer. I did not change any settings, it just stopped working while I was working on a paper. There is no support topic on this problem yet I remember reading reviews about this when I considered purchasing this keyboard initially. I should have paid attention to the reviews. I'm very disappointed it did not last longer.

iPad users - read this first

    • Written by from La Jolla

While the keyboard is easier to use than the onscreen keyboard, several neat iPad typing features are not operational when using any Bluetooth keyboard, not just this keyboard.

    These features are:
    -Autocorrect
-double tap of space bar to insert period and space
    -auto capitalizations

Moving between the BT keyboard and the onscreen keyboard can be confusing and frustrating.

Also be aware that you still have to touch the screen to send emails, select and correct spelling errors, and the like.

These are usability issues that affect iPad users and not iMac users.
