Great keypad but needs to be full size like the tethered Numeric Keypad.

I like the type-ability of this keyboard but it doesn't have a numeric pad like the USB-wired one does. This is really dumb. i use my keyboard for business and filmic needs and have to have a numeric keypad. I ended up going back to my old wireless one.

Can't understand why there is no full sized wireless keyboard.

Great when it works, impossible to fix!

I got this with my iMac so I could keep my keyboard in my lap when I wanted. Worked great for 2 years, and probably would have lived much longer. Because of the closed body design, when I got a few drops of water on the keys, I couldn't get it to dry properly. The 7 key stopped working even after a month of drying and the Q key stopped working later. Can't open it up to wipe the inside, which would probably save this $70 keyboard.

Switched to a "spill-proof" Microsoft keyboard instead...

    Poor Quality

This keyboard came with the my second iMac purchase 12/2009. I have a key that is popping out. I have just ordered another but the non wireless that has the number key pad that I missed. The last iMac was wireless with a number pad and was made with quality. When they have a good product they seem to find a way to change it to cut weight and cost.

Great if you're cramped for space

This keyboard is sleek and responsive. The wireless feature is nice. But I have a new 27" iMac and it is hard to work on a keyboard the size of your laptop keyboard when you are used to a full size one. Keys are too close together. I'm not a big person, but I feel like I'm playing with a kids toy on it. I've had Macs for years and I was a bit disappointed with this tiny thing.

    Not right for me

This is the keyboard that came with my new iMac. It does work, just not very well for me. I kept finding myself reaching for the numeric keypad, the Home, End, Page Up/Down and Delete keys. I missed not having them so much that I got a wired, full size keyboard to use.

This is nice, but it just couldn't do the job. I truly wish that Apple had a wireless, full size keyboard as an option when buying an iMac.

Good, but I really want full-size

The keyboard feel is great. I used to get cramps in my fingers / hand at work, but no longer since I bought this for use in the office.
HOWEVER, I'd really like a full-size, just like the wired version, but wireless.
Come on, Apple, it can't be that hard. Sometimes I get the impression you torture your customers just for the fun of it!

Basic typing only, bluetooth power hog

    • Written by from Honolulu

This keyboard syncs easily with my iPad but it's a power hog. Keys spaced nicely, not cramped. Unable to use escape, tab, and arrow keys. Too bad--it would've been a great keyboard if it did. People have said they could use it with their iPhone4 , but it doesn't sync with mine. I'm running iOS 4.0.2.

    Really? No keypad?

I mean, that says it all. It'd be a handy little keyboard, if it had a keypad so I could actually WORK on it. As such, I had to go and dig out an older Apple wireless keyboard (white one) to avoid wire clutter. Some bad decision making on Apple's part, for sure.

    Wireless keyboard needs extended keyboard

I am a numbers guy and need the extended keyboard. The Wireless Keyboard offered does not have that option. They need to offer that on the next one. Otherwise I love it. It works great and battery life is good.

Works well with iMac, not so well with iPad

This keyboard installed flawlessly with my iMac and worked beautifully. However, it was very finicky when trying to get it to pair with the iPad. I finally got it to pair, but when I later went back to use it with the iPad several hours later, I had to go through the procedure of turning the keyboard on and off several times before it would work. In the end, I decided to return the keyboard since I mainly got it to work with the iPad, and in addition, since I do a fair amount of work in Microsoft Office in a Windows environment on the Mac, I missed the added keys (home, end, etc.) on the wide keyboard.

    like everything but the inconvenience

Wireless is convenient and has worked flawlessly with my new iMac for about 3 months. Keys feel good now that I'm used to them. The only drawback for me is the absence of a right-delete key. The delete key performs backspace delete. To delete to the right, the fn must be depressed at the same time as delete. Since the keys are about 11 inches apart it requires left hand to depress fn and right hand to depress delete. Quite inconvenient! Before purchasing, the salesman told me I could create a shortcut to avoid having to use both hands. I have found no one at Apple who knows how to create a shortcut to enable one to use only the right hand to right-delete. Shame on Apple!

    Good, but with fatal flaw

    • Written by from Olathe

34 of 55 people found this useful

It works exactly how I would expect an apple keyboard to work. It just does. However, there's a fatal flaw in the design. Because it's weight distribution is a little awkward, it's possible to drop this thing. If you happen to drop it on the end where the power button is, you'll make it impossible to push the power button. Mine became useless after just a week. This is the kind of device that you would expect to be dropped occasionally. It merely fell off the couch. It's ridiculous that dropping it less than 2 feet could ruin it like that. After some major surgery, it works again, but it's a bit ugly now. If you have tile floors where you plan to use your keyboard, don't buy this one. Apple, please move the power button to a safer place.

Bought this for my iPad but it drains the battery very fast. If your going to be doing a lot of typing expect the life to be cut in half, sometimes not even. Two hours of typing today cut 40% of life. Otherwise it's very nice to type on.

Great Keyboard - Two Things Missing

I use this keyboard at my office with an iMac. I love typing on it and moving it around my desk as I need to. The feel is great and it looks good too. But I HATE the lack of number keys and directional keys. I bought the SMC separate keypad to fix the number entry issue, but that goes to sleep so fast, I'm constantly wakening it. I guess I'll buy another brand's bluetooth keyboard that has a full complement of keys.

It's okay. I REALLY want the numbers on the side back like a REGULAR keyboard. Like what they used to have! They should give us consumers a choice between the two. I use the numbers on the side a lot since I'm a math geek. :/

I got this keyboard about a year and a half ago and it was just fantastic, I bought it for my macbook so i could type while using my mac like a desktop computer. Unfortunately, recently, the batteries exploded in my keyboard rendering it useless. I tried to get the batteries out and got the first 3 but the last one is still stuck and I tried everything but now all I have is a dead $ 70 keyboard. This is a great keyboard but if you're buying it, be prepared to take very good care of it.
