I am one of those people who insists on having an external keyboard and mouse for my laptop and I have discovered that I prefer the Apple peripherals (Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard). The keys feel great under your fingers and have no flex, just like on the MacBooks. I do wish, though, that Apple would make a wireless keyboard with a numerical pad. Just a small complaint but it is something you get used to over time. Other then that, no complaints.

    Great Keyboard

I love this keyboard. I don't really like "traditional" keyboards. I don't like a lot of wires all over the desk. I use it along with the Magic Mouse mainly because I use an external monitor with my MacBook Pro. All in all it is a great keyboard. It's not for everyone, but It works for me.

Pros: Sleek, Sexy, Aluminum, Bluetooth, Easy to pair, It Just Works.

Cons: No 10 Key (The reason the fifth star is not selected.)

I would suggest you try it out first at a local Authorized Apple Retailer or Apple Store.

Okay, I'll keep this short and simple.

Beautifully packaged, easy to set up. Very responsive and fast, battery life is amazing, feels good to type on. Best keyboard I've ever had!

Only one thing... it needs a back light like the MacBook Pro keyboards!

    Other than that, perfect.

It is very well rounded I like it just I wish I could use a mouse for my iPad to make it more of a desktop I know it takes away from the touch screen but it makes it more hands free and let the user have a greater experience I know the only way to get a mouse on your iPad is to jail brake but I'm not stupid

Great keyboard but the caps lock button jams (both off and on) every so often. Probably should take it back to the shop but haven't had the time.

This product works great especially with rechargeable batteries. The only thing I would suggest is to add the numeric keypad.

    iTouch and the wireless keyboard

The wireless keyboard works great... with a Mac or an iPad.

I hope Apple will make some changes to the iTouch so it will work with it to someday, but for now it does not.

    Good Piece of Kit

    Excellent.
It can even be used with your iPhone 4 to type texts/emails etc. I tend to use it more with my iPhone than the iPad.

It stands the iPad / iPhone in a perfect position for you to use; defeats the object in having a netbook or (day I say it) a laptop to some extents.

Only downside (hence 4* instead of 5*) is that the connector feels somewhat 'flimsy' I bet after several months of regular use it will get damaged. The dock could do with a little more support.

Shame the official iPad case does not work with this dock. I have a zagg skin cover on my iPad so it makes the removal of the iPad from the case even more difficult.

I love this keyboard too - light weight, good key feel, and wireless. Works with my iMac and iPad. It is the best Mac keyboard I've used so far.

But. Like many here - really, really miss forward Delete key (among others). As a touch typist, there are just some things that make sense.

Second. As to the nasty poster who called us complainers fools for wanting END, HOME, PG Dn/Up, and forward Delete, etc. I guess you just LOVE using two hands and more fingers to do EVERYTHING? Personally, I call it foolish to stick to less efficient methods out of pure stubbornness.

I am of the less is more philosophy. Seems like a DUH issue to me.

I want to use the fewest possible keys, clicks, and hand movements to get the job done. [Expecting the obvious salacious jokes from the weak-minded.]

The shortcut issue is really my biggest complaint about Apple apps and keyboards.

How long did it take before Apple caved on the two button mouse option? Well, they need to get a clue on the keyboard as well.

And yes, I can just go buy a Microsoft ARC as one Mac admin advised me. I *might* do that IF even one stubborn Mac defender can offer a compelling reason why Apple refuses to have a true Delete key.

    complainers are fools

everyone please be advised that so many of the complaints below are invalid. these people do not know how to use mac products and therefore assume the keyboard is incapable of certain features.

scrolling, pg up/down, delete fwd/back, blah blah blah - learn how to use command/function/control/option keys. all your worries are solved. my macbook pro doesn't have pg up/down, but its still the best laptop on the market

to the complaints about numeric keyboard - anyone can see from the pictures that it is absent. don't buy the product if it doesn't have the specs you desire. if you do purchase, you can't give poor grade based on features you knew were absent prior to purchase

    Apple Wireless Keyboard

I recently purchased this keyboard as an acccessory for my iPad, and have so far found it to be a very good buy. The keyboard gives me control over my screen brightness, volume, iPod (play, pause, skip, etc.), as well as unlocking the iPad. When pressed, each key has a crisp, precise feeling to it. So far the keyboard angle has proved to be perfect for my wrists while typing long pages of text. My only complaint is that though I can unlock my iPad using the escape key, I cannot lock it, at least as far as I am aware. I also would like to bea ble to access my home screen using the keyboard instead of having to press the home button on my iPad. I know many other reviewers have complained about the lack of a numeric keypad, but I haven't found it to be a huge nusence, nor the fact that the keyboard is slightly narrower than a traditional keyboard that would come with the average pc. I recommend this keyboard to any iPad, Mac, or other compatible device owner in need of a keyboard. It is a great keyboard.

    Good, but expensive

Very good keyboard, the keys are responsive, the bluetooth can reach very far... farther than i expected.... but it is a little on the pricy side. I think a reasonable price for this keyboard should be around $50- $60... 70 is just too much.... it would be nice for the next wireless keyboard to have illuminated keys.... different colored backlit keys would be nice too! over all, good product.

Great device but needs wireless numeric keypad companion

    • Written by from Ottawa

I love this device. I have one for my MacBook Air and another one for my iPad and iPhone. Apple needs to develop a companion wireless numeric keypad or another wireless keyboard with numeric keypad. I would definitely buy one. I tried a couple of others and all they did was annoy me to death and I threw them out. Other point: could we have a ergo-dynamic version as well. Great job Apple.

I got a wired and wireless keyboard when I got my 27" iMac last December and if this keyboard had a separate 10 key like the wired I'd be using it. However it sits in a drawer waiting for me to infrequently use it with my Playstation. For which it works great. Get Sanyo Eneloop batteries if you get one.

I love that its so small and portable, but it gains nothing by not having a num pad and separate function and system keys. There needs to be a full-sized wireless version too!

I use this keyboard along with my 15 MacBook Pro and I love this keyboard. It is really light and this and it feels great to type with. If I had one complaint, it would be that I would really like to have a 10 key numeric keypad. Overall great product.

The Wireless Keyboard is great but . . .

The wireless keyboard is great. I like its slim design, I like the responsiveness of the keys and I especially like that it's wireless. The only thing I wish it has was a numeric keypad, not having it slows me down. I won't go back to the wired keyboard but I will keep looking for apple to make a wireless keyboard with a numeric keypad.

Love the Wireless, But I Want It Full Size

    • Written by from Catonsville

I definitely love how wires are no longer a problem on my desk with the new iMac. The wireless keyboard, trackpad and magic mouse have made this possible and I am enjoying the clean wireless appearance. Sitting in front of the 27 iMac the smaller wireless keyboard does appear a bit out of place.

As a programmer I find I still prefer a full size keyboard. I love the larger arrow keys, dedicated Home and End keys, numeric keypad and separate backspace and delete keys without having to combine it with a FN key press. Plus my hands are a little on the larger size so I like the wider keyboard.

I would happily pay for a new version of the wireless keyboard that comes in a full size version. I wouldn't care if it came with USB ports or not. My priorities in this case being wireless and full size.

So what do you say about making a full size version Steve? I would even give you a few extra dollars to have it engraved like my iPods. I got my credit card ready, so get Jony Ive on it.
