    Better Than I Thought

    I've used the wired keyboard with the keypad for a few years already, and thought I would miss the number keys. Recently, I put together my new home office and wanted to eliminate wires and clutter. This seemed good enough, but I bought it somewhat reluctantly.

    It took a few hours of typing to get used to it, but that's probably because I kept telling myself that the keyboard should be bigger (it's the exact same size as the built-in keyboards in Apple's laptops, in case you are wondering). Once I grew accustomed to the feel of it, I was typing away with no problems.

    The only barrier is the price, which definitely isn't targeted at the budget consumer.

    Those who request USB ports should know that it would only draw more power, decreasing battery life. Aside from that, how would data from a USB stick be transferred? Also, keep in mind that by using this device, you are freeing up a USB port on your computer. In the end, you are only missing out on one, low-powered port anyway.

    Picked up this keyboard half off at bestbuy open box. So happy. This thing works great! Use it with my iPhone 4 and it works perfectly. Use it when I hook up my macbook pro to my TV. Best keyboard ever. Its light and compact. I bring it with me every where. I love this thing. Good looking too. I hate that it uses up batteries though.

    Got this last week, replaces ugly factory wired Apple Keyboard (because of that full-size keyboard) it's making it a little hard to adopt this new almost half-size :) BUT still it isn't bad!

    I wish Apple can come-up with a slightly bigger size wireless keyboard WITH magic trackpad combine. I bet that's lined-up in production as I write this review since trackpad was introduced recently ;)

    Good, but could be better

    It looks beautiful, and is easy to type on, but it NEEDS the option of a numeric keypad and a USB port. I have a Mac Mini hooked up to my home theater system, and I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees every time I want to use the USB, and I'd like to be able to type numbers at a more reasonable speed. Other than that, it's great.

    The Perfect Companion

    I am typing with the keyboard at this moment, and I have mixed feelings about it.

    -The keyboard feels perfect. Apple even counterbalanced the battery compartment so the weight would be even. The keys feel like a normal keyboard, and it is durable and sleek. This characteristic is what Apple does best.
    -Music/Audio buttons. You can easily control music playback and volume on iPad, but can't choose the song...unless it's the next one.
    -Eject button. This button also functions as a toggle switch for iPad's on-screen keyboard. So if you want to use the three other currency keys or undo/redo, there you have it.
    -Compatibility. I haven't tested everything, but in addition to my iPad, this works perfectly with a PS3...saving you the trouble of getting a separate keyboard. Regrettably, though, it doesn't work with iPod Touch (2G). The only other problem is switching to a different device: you have to turn the first device off or move it out of range. But that's a Bluetooth technology problem.
    -Portability. Yes, the numeric keypad is missing, but do you really want to haul around a keyboard 2 feet long? The size is perfect, and fits against the iPad in its Apple-made case while I carry both at my side.

    Well, the title of the review says it all! This is a good keyboard.
    The only complaint i have is the battery life....hence only 4 stars.
    Also, the lack of a dedicated keypad could be an issue, however I would say for most users its not a deal breaker.

    backlit function would have been awesome

    I would have been satisfied with this keyboard and consider it a perfect one if backlit feature was added.

    Out of curiosity, if Apple sneaked in a green little light on a caps lock key, why can't they do same with the entire keys?

    Nice keyboard but limited

    I like the tactile response from the keys. Areas to improve:

    * numeric keypad
    * home/end/page up/page down keys
    * backlit
    * a wrist pad for better ergonomics

    I'm not planning to use this for all-day use so I'll manage without these things, but Apple should consider!

    Numeric Pad, Please

    The combination of a wireless extended keyboard with the numeric pad and the new trackpad would complete the setup! Come on Apple, there are more and more business users out there who NEED the numeric pad and Want wireless! That would be 5 Stars!

    Sturdy and portable. Weird punctuation problem when I use it with iPad though. Question marks come up as that silly French "C" with a goatee: ç and / or Ç.
    Still, I like it a lot; makes typing for protracted periods on the iPad much easier.

    Good Keyboard

    • Written by from Naperville

    This is a good keyboard, and it does everything it's advertised to do. The only thing that prevents me from rating this as a five-star product is the lack of backlighting. A backlit wireless keyboard would be very ideal. As far as personal preference, I wouldn't mind buying the extra batteries for the backlight, nor do I personally mind NOT having a numeric keypad (because this keyboard is identical to my MacBook Pro's keyboard). But as far as this keyboard, it's fantastic. I use this keyboard in my dorm room at college when my MacBook Pro is on my desk, and I'm sitting on my bed surrounded by books. I simply zoom in/make the text bigger on my Pages document, and I type my papers, do research, citations, etc with ease. I'd recommend this keyboard for anyone!

    Needs some software updates

    • Written by from Boise

    This keyboard works great with the IPad, however I can't wait until apple sends out an software update that allows the full functionality of a keyboard to be taken advantage of. For instance, the "find" (Command-f) function would be great for research, switching some of the "f" keys do be used with basic IPad functions such as Home Screen, Lock, Picture Frame, etc. would also be a nice touch. Regardless, if you plan on using the IPad for a lot of typing this is a must since it is a lot more convenient then the IPad keyboard stand (Which is not usable with an IPad case).

    Love this little wireless keyboard!

    What an amazing little product! I chose to buy this blue tooth wireless keyboard in lieu of the iPad keyboard dock for my new iPad. The quality and fit and finish of the keyboard is great! The size of the keyboard and the chick-let style keys are exactly the same as on my Unibody MacBook Pro. Typing is a dream with no discernible lag even when typing fast. It's very lightweight and looks very sturdy. Comes preloaded with AA batteries.

    Set up was easy on the iPad. When you want to use the ipad keyboard again, you simply turn the wireless keyboard off.

    I have a leather folio case from Sena that enables me to prop up the ipad on a desk. I set this little keyboard in front of it and start typing away.

    The only downside is that the price is pretty steep (I docked it one star for price), but for me it was worth it to get a product that is quality, works well and matches the Apple industrial design aesthetic of my iPad.

    So I just bought the BookArc to put my MacBook Pro 13" on it. Now I can work with my notebook closed and I got a lot more space on my table. The wireless keyboard comes very handy for that, 'cus solved my space problem too and saved my an USB port. :)

    Great but tiny annoyance.

    This keyboard is great and feels good to type on. There is a tiny flaw, the bottom right corner is lifted of the desk about a quarter mm, and when I hit keys near there it hits the desk, and it can get annoying.

    I love my wireless keyboard. It is both visually and functionally appealing. I wouldn't give it up. But please, Mr. Jobs, add a numeric keypad for those of us who type lots of numbers!
