I wish my new iMac had come with the mighty mouse and larger keyboard. The small keyboard is just too hard to work with. My command/option/control buttons are smaller and trying to design with shortcuts is a pain.

I find it really annoying that they sell the quad core iMacs with this piece of junk. Not only does it look puny in front of my monitor but there is no option to choose if you want the extended or wireless with the iMac at the apple store.

As a designer, the numeric keys are vital for shortcuts, etc.

If I didn't need a computer right away I would have just purchased it online and waited 3-5 business days so I can choose the extended keyboard opposed to a compact wireless one. But even then, there is no discount when down grading to a extended keyboard.

Bad move apple!

Because this keyboard does NOT have the normal concave keys, it makes it extremely difficult for anybody with hand's issues, i.e., tremors, to use this keyboard. Apple obvisouly didn't keep Universal Access in mind when they designed ths keyboard.
The normal "home" keys 'F' and 'J' keys do not have the pronounced dots / lines on them so it makes it even more difficult to maintain your finger tips on the home row.
This keyboard is obviously designed for those who "chicken peck' type.
I can type about 85 WPM on a regular 'IBM' style keyboard, but am lucky if I can reach 25 WPM on this keyboard.
Also, because it's missing the normal number section to the right, it can't be used to navigate (page up, page down, etc., using the arrows on the typical number section. This makes it even more difficult for those with hand handicaps to use, because the magic mouse is too sensitive.

Former Apple keyboards with a standard keyboard configuration had embedded numeric keys. Using the "FN" at the lower left allowed easy access to these keys.

If you use an application that makes use of these keys, you will have to purchase a numeric keypad in addition to the purchase of this keyboard.

Even though the extended keyboard is larger and wired, it may be a more effective input device for those who use the numeric keypad.

by now you should already know, that a majority of your customers are professional artists. people who spend countless hours in photoshop, after effect, and illustrator. minimalists may be, but the numeric keys, home, end, pageup, pagedn...etc. are very important to us designers and animators. this keyboard is literally useless especially in after effect. i'm not sure what your limitations are for making a sleek wireless keyboard that not only looks good on our desks but also does not involve us changing all the default hotkeys. but please figure it out sooner rather than later.

for now, we shall be the group of unimportant customers of yours who has to be limited to buying your standard wired keyboard with a numeric keypad.

thank you for letting us know that steve job's legacy has came to an end for rolling out this useless product.

It's too small, the keys are easy to slip off when you're typing fast, and it doesn't have all the keys I want.

What's the deal with not having a number pad or a (forward) DEL key??? I've been trying to get used to this tiny thing for a month and it just isn't happening. My job requires making lots of text edits and I don't use the Backspace (delete) for that type of edit. Guess I'll be paying out another $50 for a full-sized, wired keyboard so I can do my work. And don't tell me that the smaller size is good for battery life. I've had several full-sized wireless keyboards that lasted a year or more on their 2 AA batteries. And when you have a 24" Mac, 3" off the keyboard length isn't going to matter on space.
Normally, I like Apple products, but I have to wonder what the heck Mr. Jobs was thinking when he approved this design! Can I have a certificate to get a real keyboard, please?

While I like the fact that the keyboard is wireless, the lack of a numeric keyboard presents a problem when you work in spreadsheet applications. Additionally, the size restriction has resulted in the left/right/up/down arrow keys being so close together that you often hit the wrong key unless you're looking at the keyboard. We need a wireless keyboard with the full capabilities that exists with the usb keyboard.

I am very disappointed that Apple would cut corners by eliminating the 10-key numeric feature on the keypad (or at least the option to have one). The last time I recall this was on the 512k Fat Mac I bought in about 1985. I wonder how many other 20th Century features have been resurrected.

That is all Apple needed to do is offer the wireless with the 10 key. Other than that it is great.
