    Prefer wired over wiresless

    I have both the combination keyboard dock and the wireless. I much prefer the keyboard dock combo. The wireless keyboard has to be synced each time you turn off wi fi.

    MC184LL/B Special Keys DO NOT WORK ON iPad 2!

    First let me say that this keyboard is fantastic, very lightweight and portable! The only problem is that on the MC184LL/B (The Lion Model) the Brightness, Volume, and iPod Keys do not work! Therefore this product does not work as advertised and I can't give it a full rating at this time. Hopefully in iOS 5 this problem will be fixed then I will be able to re-rate it.

    Nice feel, but too many missing keys

    The touch of the keys is really nice. Battery life is great. Only complaint is too many missing keys. I really want a wireless keyboard that has the number pad as well as insert, home, end, pgup, pgdown. Those keys are really missed when I remotely connect to a windows box.

    Where's the !@$@#%#$^&!! number pad????

    I really can't use this at work, since it has no number pad like the old keyboard. Also feels a bit cramped, and I keep hitting the caps lock button. Other than that, I guess it is a pretty darn good bit o keyboard.

    Nice keyboard, no backlit keys

    Positives
    - Sleek, slim, elegant design
    - Small desk footprint
    - Wireless
    - Great to type on
    - Weighty feel, not too light
    - High quality parts and construction
    - Alt function = media buttons, eject button
    Negatives
    - NO BACKLIT (Cant see when using for movie/music playback with little to no light situations)
    - No USB inputs
    - No ability to use keyboard during BIOS/Boot screen, mostly contribution to limitation of bluetooth and overall nature of boot sequence.
    - NO PC drivers or support
    Main gripes: Not backlit, no PC driver support, lack of functioning until OS boots.

    Could be better

    I was dissapointed with the keboard for not having the extra numbers on the key pad which is great for entering in numbered information. I love it with my iPad for typing but went back to the extended keyboard for my Mac Pro

    Stuck Batteries

    After 2 years, the keyboard has failed me. The batteries are stuck in there and now it is beginning to lose its connection to my mac randomly every time I use it. Up until now, it has been great.

    Good, But could do better

    The wireless is the best I've used, however, it's limited in it's function because it's without the numeric keypad. Most users will find that it's a little frustrating when you can type reasonably quickly and then slow down when ever you have to enter a telephone number or customer number etc.
    We are in the 21st century and it's not unreasonable to ask expect the obvious. At the moment you have a desk top computer with a laptop keyboard. It's about time Apple spent more time thinking about how versatile the keyboard could be. Not only could it control your computer but with a little imagination it could do so much more ie, as a remote for your apple TV or regular TV. In fact any remotely operated device in the house.
    There has been one minor issue in that the caps lock light failed and I had to switch off the keyboard and start it again to fix the problem. It has a good feel and a good look. Please Apple - update this product!

    Short lived

    I have had my wireless keyboard for 2 years. Throughout this time it would mysteriously cut out, act weird. I would change batteries quite often and the power/light button failed so I never knew if I was wasting batteries or not. I liked the slim design and the angle, but, I expected it to last longer than it did. I did spill something on it and took it into the Apple Store. The guy popped off the space bar, which was stuck and told me to clean it out. Well, guess what!? It could not be put back together again and was totally broken after that. I was careful, but, I guess not clever enough. I have a terrible time typing on the MacBookPro keypad. I even have a wireless mouse, I do not like the pad. I bought a large monitor because I cannot see well with the existing screen. I love my MacBookPro, I love mac products, but, I do not like having to spend extra money to make my computer operate in the style to my liking. It is like spending $500 for a new set of pots and pans and needing heat proof handles for each pan at another $100 so you don’t burn yourself. It’s so expensive already, why not just make the unit livable from the start. So after two years: 2 mice; 2 keyboards wow

    i have two apple wireless keyboards, one for the office and one for home. i'm generally pleased with the performance; however, one just just died after about 1.5 years of use.

    iPad Synching Issue

    I love the keyboard and it synch's up very easily with the iPad but beware! The instructions accompanying the keyboard explain the synching process with an iMac but no mention of the iPad.

    *You must turn - on the iPad's blue tooth feature in order to synch the two. It took me an hour to figure out this little isse. Apple should include a "quick start" set of instructions.

    You'll need AA batteries!

    This is a pretty cool device. I quickly made the purchase, totally overlooking the fact that it doesn't have a charger. It works with AA batteries:(. So, stock up on them batteries! Another drawback for me was that it doesn't have the numeric section like the USB keyboard. I do a lot of financing thingies, and while this shorter keyboard version is cute, it's no bueno for me!

    The keyboard itself is fine, however

    I find the battery compartment lacking. In the case of corroded batteries, which I have experienced due to only mild use of the keyboard, they are impossible to remove, as the keyboard only has a small circular opening, and a one-entrance chute in which to deposit the batteries. It would be nice if the battery cover was more helpful in situations like this.

    Great but why no numbers pad

    It's a great keyboard to type on and the wireless part of it is amazing, but I am baffled by the fact that there is no numeric keypad and no page up/down section.. My bad I guess because I never checked upon purchase of the iMac, but it wasn't unreasonable to just assume it would be a normal keyboard with an awesome computer like that.. Now I'm thinking of just buying the wired version and selling this one because I really got used to the numbers at the right.. By reflex I still try to use it and I end up tapping my desk.. Kinda disappointed overall personally, but good device nonetheless.

    The good and the bad

    This keyboard is a beautiful keyboard by all means, but how is it in use? Now if you have long finger nails, this is not an ideal keyboard for you. I find it hard to type on sometimes. The connection unfortunately is lost or gets disconnected every now and then. I wish it had the number pad on the right side. Typing long papers is alright, the keyboard has good feedback despite being so flat. the bottom arrows are rather small, so gamers probably should buy this, it's ease to hit another key. As for battery life, I didn't use it over one weekend and it died; rechargeable batteries are the way to go with this. All in all, it is ok, it has both goodies and downsides.

    Limited functionality on iPad

    I was planning to use the keyboard with some terminal apps in order to access my mac remotely from my iPad. The keyboard is great when entering text. However, many keyboard shortcuts do not work. From the web pages of some app developers, the reason seems to be that the iOS API does not support all the keyboard shortcuts. If this issue were addressed, the ipad would be the ultimate remote access solution.

    Caps Lock...

    Overall the key board is pretty good. The only problem I have noticed is that the Caps Lock Key is a little harder to push than all the other keys. It's kind of annoying. Also the light that indicates if the caps lock is on or not sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I've had my keyboard replaced and got a new one and it still does the same thing. Nothing too big. Just minor. Doesn't affect the performance of the keyboard.

    I love the keyboard, but, I really miss the 10 key adding machine part. I use that a lot. Would love to see you make a wireless keyboard with the 10 key.
