this tools is a plus if you are using the ipad as a substitute for your pc or mac during your travels..
there are few things that is lacking though..
    1) numeric pad
    2) regular function like page up-down and ctrl+c / crtl+v .
other than that is great. you can type quickly and precisely.

    Too compact

    • Written by from Calgary

The keys are snappy and I find typing to be a pleasurable and efficient experience. Not unlike typing on the MacBook Pro keyboard. However, it's just too compact for a desktop keyboard. Why not bring out an extended wireless keyboard.. it would be EASIER-TO-USE when doing finance, math and accounting functions. (Yes creatives need to do their invoices too.) and still look great on the desktop without the ugly wire.

    bad build - WOBBLY

    • Written by from houston

types nice, looks nice, well-designed, poorly built - wobbly. when typing the thing would rattle and rattle against the tabletop.

here's a kicker - i bought the keyboard in the US, and took it to UK. went into apple store in UK to get a swap -- they refused to, citing trade agreements and throwing out words like "laundering" and "extortion".

okay, regardless of whether Apple US or Apple UK are separate business entities, this is simple matter of warranty of the same product. i wasnt returning the product - asking to exchange a defective apple product for a working apple product.

Not energy efficient; Hard to clean keys

    • Written by from Miami Beach

Negative - Uses a lot battery life; has problems pairing so you can be typing and no words all of a sudden;can't clean the keys easily - no pop off like other key boards - so if you snack or spill this isn't for you

Pros - NIce looking, keys are soft to use, no wires

    The good and the bad

This keyboard is a beautiful keyboard by all means, but how is it in use? Now if you have long finger nails, this is not an ideal keyboard for you. I find it hard to type on sometimes. The connection unfortunately is lost or gets disconnected every now and then. I wish it had the number pad on the right side. Typing long papers is alright, the keyboard has good feedback despite being so flat. the bottom arrows are rather small, so gamers probably should buy this, it's ease to hit another key. As for battery life, I didn't use it over one weekend and it died; rechargeable batteries are the way to go with this. All in all, it is ok, it has both goodies and downsides.

I've had this about 8 months, and the batteries die every 2 or 3. Occasionally, it will say "23%" or something similar, but they it still won't work. Caps lock key sometimes doesn't light up.

    Not worth the price

It is a nice keyboard. The style is great. However, I just don't feel that it is worth $69.99. At least give me a full sized keyboard at that price. Kinda' feel ripped off.

Great Keyboard, but not for Power Users

    • Written by from Grand Rapids

This is one of the best keyboards I've ever used. The sturdy aluminum allows unheard-of thinness while at the same time not feeling cheap. The keys are responsive and give excellent feedback. Bluetooth integration is superb, it works just like a USB keyboard would, and those critical seconds where a user would have to hold down a key in order to perform a certain function when the Mac is first booting up works flawlessly.

The only downside is the lack of a wireless option with a 10-key numeric keypad. It's really a shame Apple got rid of this on their wireless keyboards. I think they got rid of it because the folks at Apple thought the 10-key was too "PC-like" and was only used for "number crunching," but I use it every day, especially when typing passwords. Just because I run a Mac doesn't mean I still don't type numbers. Please, Apple, please bring back the 10-key wireless keyboard!

Drops characters if you type fast

I like this keyboard, except for the fact that it drops characters, or mis-reads characters when I type the "delete" key quickly. In mid-delete the cursor will jump to a new location, then continue deleting. This is kind of maddening and requires correcting the unintended deletes.

So if you plan to use this keyboard, don't type quickly!

Love that the keyboard is wireless, but don't like the dimensions. It's too short and is uncomfortable typing for a long time.

    Poor Quality

This keyboard came with the my second iMac purchase 12/2009. I have a key that is popping out. I have just ordered another but the non wireless that has the number key pad that I missed. The last iMac was wireless with a number pad and was made with quality. When they have a good product they seem to find a way to change it to cut weight and cost.

    Could be better

Yes I bought my Apple Wireless Keyboard around two months ago, and i really like it for being a bluetooth board. The only down fall to this board is the fact that it does not come with the numeric key pad like a regular full size board. So i am force to give it a three stars since Apple only put half the effort into creating what would be a great wireless board.

Great when it works, impossible to fix!

    • Written by from Baldwin

10 of 19 people found this useful

I got this with my iMac so I could keep my keyboard in my lap when I wanted. Worked great for 2 years, and probably would have lived much longer. Because of the closed body design, when I got a few drops of water on the keys, I couldn't get it to dry properly. The 7 key stopped working even after a month of drying and the Q key stopped working later. Can't open it up to wipe the inside, which would probably save this $70 keyboard.

Switched to a "spill-proof" Microsoft keyboard instead...

    50/50 shot

i bought my first one at the apple store with a mac mini and trackpad. it worked brilliantly for almost a year until my kid spilled my beer on it. now its in his misc. junk play drawer. so i bought a new one from best buy, being the closest apple store is an hour away. this one was complete junk. after two weeks it started losing connection every 15 seconds, and in mid type it will just repeat the same letter over and overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and say that the batteries are dead when they're 2 days old. its on my coffee table and my mini is hooked up to my tv so i cant have an unsightly cord halfway across the room to trip over so i guess its time to go to the apple store or order one and cross my fingers. since i cant rate both individual keyboards i have to give it a 3. 5 for the first one and 1 for the second. wish me luck with the 3rd.

Great if you're cramped for space

This keyboard is sleek and responsive. The wireless feature is nice. But I have a new 27" iMac and it is hard to work on a keyboard the size of your laptop keyboard when you are used to a full size one. Keys are too close together. I'm not a big person, but I feel like I'm playing with a kids toy on it. I've had Macs for years and I was a bit disappointed with this tiny thing.

I do not like this keyboard very much. It seems the keys were crammed in and it is harder to type. I like the wired keyboard more, especially since it has the numeric keys. I wish you made the wired one, wireless.

    Caps Lock...

    • Written by from Mukilteo

Overall the key board is pretty good. The only problem I have noticed is that the Caps Lock Key is a little harder to push than all the other keys. It's kind of annoying. Also the light that indicates if the caps lock is on or not sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I've had my keyboard replaced and got a new one and it still does the same thing. Nothing too big. Just minor. Doesn't affect the performance of the keyboard.
