It's a good keyboard. The problem is that it doesn't have a numeric keypad. Apple clearly designed this keyboard for those who only surf the net, write emails, and looking at photos. End of story.

They didn't seem to take into consideration that there are many design and 3D programs that take effective use of the num keypad for either navigation and/or extra functionality of such programs. Sure ok, you can get the wired version, but would be nice to offer a wireless version of the keyboard with the numeric keypad as well.

I bought this keyboard 3.5 years ago with my iMac and it continues to work with no problems. The keys have a soft feel with a good amount of "give" when pressed. The bluetooth setup was very simple and have never lost connection. I use the apple rechargeable batteries and only have to change them every 3-4 months at most. I would recommend this to everyone who is will to give up the numerical pad for some extra room

i bought my first one at the apple store with a mac mini and trackpad. it worked brilliantly for almost a year until my kid spilled my beer on it. now its in his misc. junk play drawer. so i bought a new one from best buy, being the closest apple store is an hour away. this one was complete junk. after two weeks it started losing connection every 15 seconds, and in mid type it will just repeat the same letter over and overrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and say that the batteries are dead when they're 2 days old. its on my coffee table and my mini is hooked up to my tv so i cant have an unsightly cord halfway across the room to trip over so i guess its time to go to the apple store or order one and cross my fingers. since i cant rate both individual keyboards i have to give it a 3. 5 for the first one and 1 for the second. wish me luck with the 3rd.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is awesome, since with its small size, I can just use my left hand with it, with no issues. My right hand has limited mobility, so a small keyboard that works with just one hand, works wonders for me.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is just so-so. I was surprised to find Apple does not offer a wireless keyboard with the usual numeric keypad and arrow/cursor keypad. A USB keyboard with those is still available, but they push the wireless model instead, because they offer only four USB ports on the new iMacs. I always miss the ten-key numeric keypad and the cursor keypad. This is a poor design choice.

The other major issue is battery life. To be fair, I've only had to replace the batteries twice in about four months since getting it. The Apple Magic Mouse, by comparison, eats batteries like candy, every week.

I see that another vendor's keyboards, sold by the Apple Store, offer solar power recharge to avoid frequent battery changes. This is a smart design feature that Apple should use.

But the first thing that happened when I went to replace the batteries the second time? The battery cap rolled away and got lost, never to appear again. Because the cap is also the contact for battery power, the keyboard was now useless. I don't find a way to order the cap by itself. I bought a new keyboard, the same model. But surprise! The Mac didn't want to recognize the new keyboard while busy asking for my password...which I couldn't type with the new, unrecognized keyboard. So...aha, the end cap is interchangeable, so I'm using the old keyboard with the new battery cap, but I'd really like an end cap, to have a spare keyboard. I will ask an Apple person about the end caps, and update if that's doable.

Now, seeing the solar option with full keypads, I will likely put the spare, with the missing cap, in for recycling, and buy the other product.

This is a good little keyboard, but I am not sure it belongs on the mac. I have to say I was less then excited about this item mainly because of the lack of 10 key on it. I hated having to replace the batteries all the time since our computer receives heavy use. But I do love to use it when I am typing on my iPad 2 or my iPad mini. All in all its a good little keyboard but when I order my next Mac, I will opt for a wired version of both the mouse and the keyboard.

Three months old. Eats up batteries far too quickly. Same for the mouse. Brand new batteries and continued "Connection Lost" resulting in last key press repeating endlessly until "Connection established" again. Wasted way more time fighting this thing than its worth. I'll stick with my extended USB board with a numeric keypad. This one is going straight to the landfill.

Fits my needs to a T.

Bought to use with my MacBook and ended up buying a second to use with my Apple TV. Lightweight with nice key action. Wish they would make one with a number keypad.
