Love keyboard but not the recent update!

I have this keyboard as well as the magic mouse. I got them both so that I can hook up my macbook pro to another monitor and save the laptops LCD... It was working fine to awake my laptop when the monitor was shut but now since the recent keyboard update - it won't wake up the computer! WHY APPLE? I loved my little setup and paid a pretty penny for it. WIth the bigger monitor I used to watch movies from far away and just used the keyboard like a remote control.

    Only missing a number pad

This is a great keyboard that is very reliable, small, and sturdy. As a manager of a medium sized network (125 staff) I am constantly having requests to replace these wireless keyboards with the wired keyboard containing the number pad.

Just about every professional industry standard graphics/audio/video editing system takes advantage of the number pad, so this is really a keyboard for people who only use their computer for typing and browsing the web.

For what it does, it works great! I just wish there was a different version with a number pad.

    elegant and pleasant to use

This is really a very nice piece of equipment, easy on the eyes with pleasing tactile feedback. Took a little while to get used to, it seems to have a little less travel from key to key than a standard key board so there were a lot of typos for the first few days but i adjusted to it. The only potential downfall is the angle. Normally I use a gel wrist support to avoid fatigue and repetitive motion injury. The low profile of this keyboard makes that virtually impossible so with heavy use i find there is a little hand stress. Its just a little bit harder to stay in the proper ergonomic position. For slamming out emails and regular keyboard use its perfect. I don't know if i would use it to write novel.

Keyboard is nice and slim and has a great feel when typing. The only problem is the lack of a numerical pad such as on the wired keyboard. This is only a small drawback, but I would not recommend this keyboard for anyone that relies heavily on the numpad. Otherwise a great keyboard!

Though certainly not a desktop keyboard substitute, it's as goo as any laptop keyboard around. Great touch too!

I use this keyboard along with my 15 MacBook Pro and I love this keyboard. It is really light and this and it feels great to type with. If I had one complaint, it would be that I would really like to have a 10 key numeric keypad. Overall great product.

    Number Pad & USB Ports

I love not having to worry about how far away my keyboard is from my iMac, but I really hate not having the number pad and the USB ports. It'd be really awesome if you were able to connect a Flash Drive to the wireless keyboard and somehow it communicated through bluetooth technology. Maybe someday. For now, I miss some things and like others.

Picked up this keyboard half off at bestbuy open box. So happy. This thing works great! Use it with my iPhone 4 and it works perfectly. Use it when I hook up my macbook pro to my TV. Best keyboard ever. Its light and compact. I bring it with me every where. I love this thing. Good looking too. I hate that it uses up batteries though.

One star short as there is no 10-key pad. My MacBook has a 10-key pad enabled by the [function] key, however, this is not the case with the wireless keyboard. Nevertheless, a great keyboard.

You Get What You Paid For

I got this wireless keyboard a Futureshop yesterday. The product is in stellar condition, the built quality is excellent and it is SO small compared to PC keyboards :).

It takes a bit of time to get used to the keyboard. It has NO keyboard flex whatsoever and the keys seem to be very responsive.

I'm using the keyboard with an Acer 3820tg laptop, and its integrated bluetooth module. It took less than five minutes to set up and works perfectly with the module (I my Logitech wireless keyboard and even my Microsoft mouse working).

The keyboard is compact yet very sturdy and looks very resistant. The only downsides are that the functions keys do not work when used with a PC (even the play/pause/etc buttons) and that there is no delete key (when used with a pc). It instead is used as a backspace. In windows you can delete something with Ctrl+D, but in applications you often need the real delete key. I heard that the software "EventGhost" could adress the issue.

It's the 2th apple product that I've bought in my life (1st one was an iPod Touch) and I am very satisfied with my products as they just work PERFECTLY. My next plan: Get a Apple laptop!

    Better Than I Thought

I've used the wired keyboard with the keypad for a few years already, and thought I would miss the number keys. Recently, I put together my new home office and wanted to eliminate wires and clutter. This seemed good enough, but I bought it somewhat reluctantly.

It took a few hours of typing to get used to it, but that's probably because I kept telling myself that the keyboard should be bigger (it's the exact same size as the built-in keyboards in Apple's laptops, in case you are wondering). Once I grew accustomed to the feel of it, I was typing away with no problems.

The only barrier is the price, which definitely isn't targeted at the budget consumer.

Those who request USB ports should know that it would only draw more power, decreasing battery life. Aside from that, how would data from a USB stick be transferred? Also, keep in mind that by using this device, you are freeing up a USB port on your computer. In the end, you are only missing out on one, low-powered port anyway.

So I just bought the BookArc to put my MacBook Pro 13" on it. Now I can work with my notebook closed and I got a lot more space on my table. The wireless keyboard comes very handy for that, 'cus solved my space problem too and saved my an USB port. :)

It looks small and dainty because it is. But it still feels comfortable to me to type on. Although when I move it around, I feel like I am going to break it. I received it in Oct and I have not had to change the batteries yet.

It's very pleasant with nice key response. Very compact and the price was good for a wireless blue-tooth device. I thought about the Logitech but it's very expensive and I've heard their support is not very good.

    Wireless Keyboard

I was given the wireless keyboard as a gift. I LOVE IT! We have always been a PC family having family working for a PC company, but I ventured off to the Mac world. I will never return to the PC world! I am loving every Apple Product I have ever purchased or received.

The keyboard is very smooth and easy to type on. It makes me want to type just to type. The thing I wish Apple should have added is the back light. It would have been very convenient to use.

    Adivce: Get the wireless keyboard.

I agree with DB from Atlanta. This keyboard needs a numeric keypad like the wired version! I have both, but I use the wired version just for the numeric keypad.

The balance of the brand, design and just how awesome this keyboard is keeps me from chucking it out the window. It's great, it's low profile, and it's made by Apple; what more could I want? Backlighting and a wireless version of the keyboard with numerical keypad, in one. That's why I gave it a rating of four stars, it's great, but it could be better.

Does what I expected it to

I have a 15" MBP which I move between my family room and my office. When in the office, the MBP sits on a notebook stand from another manufacturer. I previously used a PC-compatible USB keyboard in the office, but I was often frustrated by the different key layouts on the MBP and the PC keyboard.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is an ideal solution for me. It has exactly the same size and layout as the MBP's keyboard so I can seamlessly move between the two rooms without having to mentally translate my keystrokes.

As some reviewers have noted, it has neither a numeric keypad nor a forward delete key; but neither does the MBP. And besides, even a quick glance at the graphics of the Apple Wireless Keyboard on the Apple Website makes it clear what keys the device does, and does not have.
