The Bluetooth connection is smooth, no problems.
The Keyboard takes up a tiny foot print, no delete key.
The only problem I have is the ergonomics of it can be a little bit of a pain and no numbers pad. I would buy this if just doing normal computer stuff for work or play, but I wouldn't buy it if I had to do some serious work with any design program, etc.

Really, it is a wireless keyboard. I do not see it as "spectacular" or anything. Sure, it looks nice and goes great with a mac desk setup. It is a bit pricey but that is the price you pay for congruency.

It looks small and dainty because it is. But it still feels comfortable to me to type on. Although when I move it around, I feel like I am going to break it. I received it in Oct and I have not had to change the batteries yet.

It took me a while to warm up to this keyboard. Like many other reviewers, I at first missed the numeric keypad. Contrary to what many have said, there is a forward delete, but it's not obvious: you have to press the fn key with the delete key. Once I got used to it, I found it very natural. The keys are responsive. I also have the Magic Mouse and I turn both it and the keyboard off when I'm not using the computer. My battery life has been fine.

As far as the numpad, I don't miss it at all. I have an iPhone, and there's a great wireless app for it called (appropriately) NumPad. It not only works flawlessly to replace the missing keypad, but it can also re-create the layout for Sibelius (the music notation program). The app would also work with an iPod Touch.

I used to be skeptical of any wireless input device, but the keyboard works well. And setup was really easy.

Great design, fantastic portability, not so durable

I give high regard to Apple's design team and love the design of this keyboard. I have very large hands but find it simple to use this keyboard on a daily basis. I use it in conjunction with my MacBook Pro... I find that when I get used to a particular desktop keyboard then go out on the road, I find I'm less efficient when I have to start typing on my laptop. The nice thing about this is the keyboard is nearly identical to the keyboard of the MBP so I'm golden.

I originally bought my first ultra-light wireless keyboard a year ago and loved the way it was easy to pack up and take with me on business trips. I used this keyboard every day and have a fairly heavy hand but also get up to about 100wpm when I'm real busy and pound away at this thing. I have to give it credit for taking the punishment but after a year of every day use, it finally gave in. My wife doesn't care for the keyboard so when we got her new iMac 27", I took her keyboard and am on my second one. This seems a bit different besides being a 2-battery which the old one was a 3-battery, it seems a little heavier too. I hope I get more than a year out of this one but we'll see.

    Bottom line -
    5-stars for design and portability
    3-stars for durability (first batch)
    Net = 4 stars.

It's annoying to read all over that this keyboard "misses numeric keypad". Guess what: that's the reason I bought it in the first place. Regular writing in an armchair is very uncomfortable if it has numeric keypad. Still, you can clearly see before buying that this keyboard doesn't have numeric keys so what's the point whining about it?
I did have connectivity issues but, somehow surprisingly, I resolved them by removing the bluetooth driver that came with my usb dongle and replacing it with default Windows XP driver. It works like a charm now, despite the fact that at the same time I use another bluetooth dongle for the network.
The obvious disadvantage is the price. In Poland, where I bought it, it costs significantly more than 69 bucks (US is so cheap and yet you still whine about the price)
To sum up, I'm not an Apple fanboy, I bought this for PC and I spend on it 10 times the price of my previous keyboard, but I would do this again cause Apple's competition is to shy to dump the numeric keypad and adopt minimalistic design.

Keyboard ok but lacking Del key

I can't confirm excessive battery usage, as my wireless keyboard is operating for two month now without changing any battery. By the way it takes three cells instead of two.
There's one thing however i desperately miss, where is my Del key . The lack of a del key makes word processing quite a hassle. It requires a lot of arrow key handling.
Quite inconvenient if I may say

I love this keyboard, totally made watching movies on my LCD television more enjoyable. I used the keyboard as a wireless remote, I mean who wouldn't want to watch a movie already saved on your laptop, but on your 40" flat screen and be able to control it from the comfort of your couch!

The keyboard in my opinion has class leading build quality and fit & finish. It has a reassuring weight and solidity to it. Functionality and ease of set up is what we've come to expect from Apple....easy peasy.

Now, for the reason why I couldn't give it the 5th star. I had originally purchased the wireless keyboard 9 months ago and fell in love with it (except the 3 battery requirement...whaaaat?!?! why 3?!?!) everything worked great, until about a week ago. One day last week a section of the keyboard stopped working, a group of the keys on the right hand side just went dead. I went straight to my neighbourhood Apple Store and made an appointment with the Genius Bar. Thankfully it was still covered under warranty, and there was no hesitation to replace it by the Genius Rep. I was so excited to realize that the new model only required 2 batteries, hear that, just 2...AMAZING!!! lol now I don't have to break a 4 pack of batteries anymore and have a loner left...Thanks Apple!

Love keyboard but not the recent update!

I have this keyboard as well as the magic mouse. I got them both so that I can hook up my macbook pro to another monitor and save the laptops LCD... It was working fine to awake my laptop when the monitor was shut but now since the recent keyboard update - it won't wake up the computer! WHY APPLE? I loved my little setup and paid a pretty penny for it. WIth the bigger monitor I used to watch movies from far away and just used the keyboard like a remote control.

It must just be human nature. Seems like people bring home a brand new product and expect it to work just like the old one. Why buy the new one then?

Apple does have to take the hit for their insistence on keeping documentation to the minimum. Yes, the info is available through the computer, but it WOULD be handy to have a manual in the box, especially with brand new products that don't work like the ones we've been using FOREVER did. I know, I know, we're keeping it green, but still - look at all the complaints you get because people can't find the instructions! I mean, I was going nuts trying to figure out why Apple would lose the forward delete capability. Until someone in here pointed out it's still there, you just have to use the 'function' key with the delete key. Annoying at first, but with time, you adjust.

Okay, that said, this keyboard is different that the one you were using before. Take some time to play with it, explore its functionality, figure out how it works. Yes, you CAN forward delete, and yes, there are plenty of other functions that are now shared by keys instead of having their own. The point being to make a smaller, more portable product. If you have chosen this product, then you are going to have to go with the learning curve. The commenter who wrote about spending an hour working on his skills with using the number keys to replace the number keypad has the right idea. (Although, if you are someone who works with numbers ALOT,you're probably not going to want to give up that functionality - so just go with the standard keyboard).

One problem I am having that, judging by prior comments, is NOT common (I only saw one other person, the poor guy with no "p"s, who is having the problem) is that certain keys are not properly anchored - my "o" key is loose and does not register at least half the time. It started after just a few days of use. Looks like a lemon, and I will be taking it in for replacement/repair next week.

Other than that, typing is a breeze on this thing, and I'll be spending some time doing some research on what other functions are hidden away in here, so I can make the best use of the product.

Down one star for not making a full-scale keyboard version available. And for that faulty "o" key practically out of the box.

Oh, just FYI, I didn't make a separate choice to buy this keyboard, it came with my new iMac. Since I'm new to Macs, I just look at the whole thing as a necessary learning curve, but I can see where those already using the product might expect full functionality out of this keyboard without the learning experience.

    Only missing a number pad

This is a great keyboard that is very reliable, small, and sturdy. As a manager of a medium sized network (125 staff) I am constantly having requests to replace these wireless keyboards with the wired keyboard containing the number pad.

Just about every professional industry standard graphics/audio/video editing system takes advantage of the number pad, so this is really a keyboard for people who only use their computer for typing and browsing the web.

For what it does, it works great! I just wish there was a different version with a number pad.

It's very pleasant with nice key response. Very compact and the price was good for a wireless blue-tooth device. I thought about the Logitech but it's very expensive and I've heard their support is not very good.

Just got this keyboard and so far

I am very much missing the number pad that is usual on the right side of keyboards and the "caps lock" button works but often does not illuminate. Mac quickly sent me a replacement and the replacement has the same problem.

The board/buttons are easy to use and I am enjoying the wireless feature. It's great for putting it out of reach of my one year old.

This is really a very nice piece of equipment, easy on the eyes with pleasing tactile feedback. Took a little while to get used to, it seems to have a little less travel from key to key than a standard key board so there were a lot of typos for the first few days but i adjusted to it. The only potential downfall is the angle. Normally I use a gel wrist support to avoid fatigue and repetitive motion injury. The low profile of this keyboard makes that virtually impossible so with heavy use i find there is a little hand stress. Its just a little bit harder to stay in the proper ergonomic position. For slamming out emails and regular keyboard use its perfect. I don't know if i would use it to write novel.
