2nd one lost due to batteries

    • Written by from Newhall

I should have trusted the reviews. I have now lost 2 apple wireless keyboards in the past 3 years due to battery corrosion. I guess I got fooled twice with this defective product.

Great Keyboard, BUT wish it was Solar Powered w/Numeric Keypad

    • Written by from Salem

Great Keyboard, BUT wish there was a Solar Powered Version w/Numeric Keypad...Apple would sell the dog out of a Keyboard that had a Numeric Keypad, BlueTooth and Solar Powered that could maybe have 3 BT Pairing Switches to use on a person's iMac/MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad. That would be the ultimate productivity keyboard.

Again I like this keyboard, but for a big guy like me (if I type in my lap)...it's almost too short where a longer one especially with a 10 Key Numeric Keypad would be super helpful for Spreadsheets and such. Plus, I'm really not sure why anyone with a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro would want to buy the same keyboard that's built in anyway, if that makes sense? When I have my 15" Retina MacBook Pro up on its Griffen Elevator I continue to use my old old Apple Wireless KeyBoard (that has the 10 Keypad)...just wish there was a new slimmer version (again with Solar and 3 BT Pairing Switches for other Apple Devices). ;-)

    Best keyboard

    • Written by from Kitchener

IF you can't manage to pair this keyboard or use it properly, I suggest you AID the planet and give up using electronic devices. This keyboard is so superior to any Microsoft PC based keyboards - it was like time travel when I was forced to use a PC keyboard going back to the 1980's.

Those who have bad things to say about this keyboard use blackberry products and should not be allowed to sign contracts or drive.

    Buttons Break Off

    • Written by from SALINAS

I really like the keyboard with one exception. A small but important design flaw. The left and right arrow buttons broke off. There is no way to reattach them. I attribute it to the tendency to not press straight down in the center of these keys. That being said, those keys need a broader support under them instead of a central pivot point. Fortunately, it is still possible to use the arrows, I just have to stop and press the top of the little center nub that used to be depressed by the whole key instead of my fingernail.

    Best keyboard I've ever used.

    • Written by from doncaster

I'm a writer. I've used this keyboard every day for the past 20 months. It still works and looks the same as the day I bought it.

I cannot recommend it too highly. In short, it's a comfortable to use, great looking and extremely robust keyboard.

    Has it's issues

    • Written by from Canton

This keyboard was designed almost perfectly, the durability and keys are close to perfect. unfortunately, the fact that I have to put tinfoil in the battery case to get it to work completely ruins this product. For half the money you can get a no name wireless keyboard without this issue.

    Love it!

    • Written by from Murfreesboro

I have had this keyboard for about a year now. I just now had to change the batteries for the first time. It is a great little tool. Easy to transport and super easy to use. I am able to use Word on my iPad Air with it. Works great! I love it!

    Terrible battery life!

    • Written by from Riverview

I have this keyboard and the bluetooth mouse. Out of everyone I have ever used for any system these are by far the worst. I have to replace the batteries in both weekly and I'm only on my Mac twice a week for a few minutes. Going to try to return them.

    THE remote-keyboard

    • Written by from Radomlje

It goes all around my room constantly. I've been using it almost like a remote (comp connected to tv). People sat and stepped on it. Fell quite a few times (3,4 foot drops)... Everything works even after 3 years of abuse from humans. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is that when i go on the balcony for a cig, the connection stops and i can't change the music. I get around that with my phone so not really a big problem, but the keyboard has to be 10-15 feet from the computer to work properly.

You can even hardly make it dirty, although it's all white. And it can work pretty will with iPad and my Lenovo laptop.

    Worthless piece of junk.

    • Written by from Port Washington

Just wanna say, i am very disappointed in the iMac wireless keyboard. I have had it barely two years, yesterday the delete key, zero, and space bar stopped working, after having a friend who works at Apple check it out for me, he said it seems to have just shorted out. There is no damage to the keyboard what so ever, it's never been dropped or had anything spilled on it, yet it just stopped working. $70 to replace it. I have a Dell from 8 years ago where the original keyboard still works just fine.. Makes me almost regret switching to a Mac. They make a pretty product, but it is expensive and not meant to last. I basically only use this computer for editing photos..it's not like i am typing away all day long on it. Should a $70 keyboard be breaking like this in only two years? I will admit, i enjoy other features of the iMac, like it basically being wireless, but to me this keyboard seems poorly made, with only a 1 year warranty. So if you are out of warranty you are out of luck, and must buy a new one, because the computer is worthless without a functioning keyboard.

    Best Keyboard Ever

    • Written by from Denver

I have used my wireless keyboard since I got my iMac in 2008. No problems. Ever. Not with batteries, not with connection, nothing. It's always possible one or several pieces of hardware fail. Happened to Apollo 13, no reason for anyone to imply all keyboards are lemons.

    Suddenly stopped working...

    • Written by from State College

Until this week, I would have given the keyboard a 5 rating - worked great. Moved to our second home last week, and it has not worked since. Why not? I have only had the keyboard for a couple of months. The batteries should not have needed to be changed. But, I changed the batteries, and it is still not discoverable ... No idea what to do. Very frustrating!! BTW, my MacAir and Magic Mouse are fine and working well...

BATTERIES & THE APPLE WIRELESS KEYBOARD

    • Written by from Paducah

This keyboard is a high risk purchase. I just spent over an hour trying to remove the two AA batteries required to power up the unit. They were jammed in the chamber. Unfortunately, mine won't power up now, after having to force the old batteries. I wasn't able to safely get them out without apparently damaging something. It's frustrating that the chamber was made with such little room to spare. Clearly others have had this issue, as noted in discussion threads on how to fix this issue. Side note: I used duracell pro cell. I highly doubt the battery is to blame...

Apple Wireless Keyboard needs some work

    • Written by from Richland

I have had two Apple wireless keyboards. Both have had the 'S' key go bad. Coincidence? I think not. Very frustrating. Make sure you do not use an 'S' in your sign on password. I will be looking for a different product next time.

    Best Keyboard in the World

    • Written by from HOUSTON

I have had this keyboard for about a week. There has been no pairing issues and battery problems. The batteries are still at 100%. The keyboard looks very nice, clean etc. One of the very good things about it is it has bluetooth. The keyboard makes many people type faster with it, because of its cicklet keys. I have a setup up of a macbook pro retina attached to two monitors and almost all of the ports of the laptop are now full. The keyboard also takes up very small amount of space. It also makes you even neater because you can see all the papers and other thing s on your desk. It works very very well considering how many things are connected to my laptop and there has been no pairing problems. Apple will continue makes very good products and that why everybody likes apple

Wireless Keyboard battery life and keyboard length are issues to consider

    • Written by from Corral de Tierra

I've owned my wireless keyboard about two years, changed batteries about 10 times, and never had an issue with pairing. It is always immediate. I like the low profle and tactile response. There are two flaws that for me are a problem. First, there is no numeric keypad. Second, the keyboard is too short. I like a longer keyboard because it has more mass and is more stable, and I can use it on my lap or an uneven surface. I also think the keyboard consumes too much power - batteries don't last nearly as long as I think they should.
