I always love anything Apple does. The new Magic Mouse is however an exception. For me, it's TOO touchy. I feel as if I burped in its direction it might do something. Maybe I'm too clutzy--but the highly sensitive surface causes unwanted choices and changes. I spend all my time designing and have found with Magic Mouse that my screen zoom goes in and out plus all kinds of unnecessary "choices" present themselves when I least expect them. Will return to the old "tethered" version and give my Magic Mouse to someone more patient than myself. It is however beautiful to look at.

If your goal is to test the limits of your own patience, the Magic Mouse is a great product.

I've come to believe this product is imbued with genuine magic, but none that sets the owner on course towards a life lived happily ever after. There are only dark supernatural forces at work here, of the kind one encounters in movies that eventually drive the recipient to madness and ruin. This shiny trinket that surely originates from the birth place of awful leviathan worked well for a while, although it had a ravenous hunger for batteries from the beginning. Soon a change for the worse over took it and my computing life. After a relatively short amount of time, influences from the hoary nether world made their malevolent intentions clear. With ever growing frequency and magnitude, they taunted me from beyond. The "mouse" which I will call this dark talisman for lack of knowing it's true demon moniker and fear of speaking it aloud if I did, eventually refused to stay connected with clear contempt for me and my computer. Every time I stopped using it for 30 seconds or more, the "lost connection" icon would appear. Once I would have sworn I saw the glimmer of fiery ember eyes and pointy toothed grin mocking me from my computer screen. Occasionally clicking or lifting and setting it down would result in a reconnection. As often as not, I had to toggle the physical switch on the underbelly of the beast to coax it into reconnecting; or I would have to go to system preference and start the pairing procedure from scratch as if it demanded the electronic connection ritual and digital incantation be spoken more and more, to reaffirm it's growing dark dominance. This "thing" seemed to demand more and more of my attention as time passed. Aside from the maddening connectivity issues, the "mouse" began to have latency problems as well, making the cursor travel with lethargy of the possessed across my screen. I purchased the Apple track pad, which I like for specific tasks. It has no connectivity or latency issues. I find it useful for many things, but prefer a mouse for typical activity done in graphic design applications. I like the ability to chose between the two. After suffering the Magic Mouse and the realization it was more trouble than it was worth, the greatest satisfaction from owning the product came when I let go of the $70 bucks I wasted, embraced the loss, and indulged in the cathartic joy that came from throwing the expensive piece of junk against the wall. Give this Magic Mouse a wide berth, and ignore it's siren song, lest ye be tempted to suffer your own similar tale of despair and wretched woe.

The mouse has amazing potential but it does not work with Adobe software very well. It constantly jumps to different pages and parts of the screen while you are working. I even installed Magic Prefs and set a custom defined scroll area (a very tiny area) to try to prevent it but it still happens way to frequently. The scrolling in general in Adobe is brutal, the scroll increments are completely off and you can only make large jumps around the page, instead of the subtle movement you can get on regular mac programs.

I will be going back to the might mouse with scroll ball. Apple, please work with Adobe next time to work out these bugs.

I've had this mouse for several months now, I use it pretty much 40 hours a week, and I really don't care for it. I really tried to like it because it seemed like a great idea, but I find it very aggravating at times. No matter how I change the settings in the preferences, I have trouble with the mouse accidentally scrolling (usually horizontally, but vertically as well) when I don't want it to. I also end up right-clicking when I'm intending to left-click and end up having to actually look at the mouse and click again or just use the hierarchical menu (after I tried clicking at least twice already). Of course, I never liked the mighty mouse either. I am a real Apple fangirl, too, but I've never liked any of their mice and this one is no exception.

Dear apple. This mouse is not good for designers are used to complete precision control. It moves on its own, it will even zoom on its own. You pick something up and put it down and the screen slides away from you. Frustrating and infuriating. I've been using this for a few weeks hoping it was just a matter of getting used to the ultra ultra ultra high sensitivity but this is a little ridiculous.

Its almost like it detects the sweat on my finger and jumps into action!

Please allow some control over sensitivity of TOUCH!!!!

After waking my computer, my mouse has frozen several times. AppleCare helps me to get my mouse working again but what a hassle. Bought my first MAC in December 2010 and I have called at least five time with this problem. Two times in the last two days. Now they are sending me a new one as it maybe a defective. You think!!!

For the 1st week I LOVED this new mouse. Actually I still do, the functionality is superb. But after the 1st week my forearm and wrist were killing me. It has been 3 weeks now and my arm aches. I bought an ergonomic mouse yesterday. This is the 1st Apple product I have not been totally thrilled with!

If you want to use it with a Macbook pro while your computer is wirelessly connected to a WiFi router at the 2,4Mhz frequency, then you're out of luck. The mouse will lag, specially when downloading a big file or streaming video.

Also, scrolling can be awkward, specially on a long page.
