It took awhile to get used to. What I didn't like is when I drag it on my desk it made too much noise from the desk surface. I had to get a mouse pad to soften the scratching sound from my desk and now I'm happy.

I haven't any issues with it and I would recommend it.

I would recommend this mouse to just about any Mac user. I would like to point out a couple of observations after having mine for half a year.

What I use if for: I use it for design work (adobe creative suite), gaming (not really precise for gaming but I've grown to enjoy the way it feels), and day to day stuff like web browsing etc.

First off: I would have only given this mouse a 3/5 if not for a third party driver called Magic Prefs. If you get this mouse, get this software! It allows you to bump up the tracking speed (which is capped very low) and allows for a lot more multi touch gestures (which, by default, are very few. Not what you would expect from Apple).

The mouse looks great but it is VERY different feeling! It takes a bit of getting used to but it is not painful to make the transition. The glides on the bottom of the mouse are AWESOME and slide smoothly on almost any surface. I've also never had any issues with the eye not picking up movement.

The battery life is not that great. It lasts like a month or so with heavy usage. The clicking noise can be, for some, loud if you're clicking like crazy. I've annoyed some people while playing games.

It's a very nice, super sleek, relatively versatile mouse that has a couple of drawbacks. Again; Magic Prefs is a MUST for this mouse.

Love the mouse. Would like to reprogram fingertip hot spots though.

Some batteries have a short + tab (Costco Kirkland AA's) where the wrapping plastic interferes with the plastic case in the battery holder and causes intermittent '+' connections. I end up scratching off all the plastic on the tops of these batteries and putting in some padding under the door to force the batteries deeper into the holder. Perhaps the battery case '+' terminal is too deep into the plastic case.

My son dropped it. The tab holding the battery door closed broke off and I'm reduced to taping the door shut like I do for other remotes. Now I need yet another battery door for another hand held device.

Apple, how about a sealed unit with a drop-in inductive charger, or the rest-on-an-inductive-coil type charging system?

this is an awesome mouse i love the scrolling! the only down side for me is it turns it self of if u don't use it for a while i guess and you have to turn off the whole computer itself to get the mouse to turn back on! if there is an easier way please tell me :]

The mouse might feel awkward at first and maybe you'd have to reorient your hand a little to scroll, but eventually you get used to it and it's fantastic. The multitouch looked impressive and was very useful, I can turn pages simply by swiping two fingers, and the fact that it can sense where your clicking on the mouse is great. I did have some trouble with it though, as sometimes it would not respond, and where I need to press both sides at once, the magic mouse does not pick up. Tracking is good yet I found it to be pretty slow, I had to set the tracking speed to maximum sensitivity, which would be way to sensitive if I were to use my other mouse. Yet thats a minor fault, as i'm not so lazy to go to preferences to change the tracking speed if I want to use the other mouse. furthermore, despite having multitouch capabilities, the mouse is very efficient in battery consumption, i would only have to replace the batteries about each month, give or take. If connection is lost it would take a long time to regain it and you'd have to click the button a few times for your mac to recognize it and that could be annoying.

Overall it's a great product although I would like to see some improvements as well as enhanced multitouch capapbilities.

The ability to squeeze the mighty mouse and view all screens was awesome. THey took this function away. Over all the mouse is better, way better.

I've had the Magic Mouse for about a month now, and so far its working great!
The multi-touch technology on the mouse can really make your working progress go smooth!

Although the mouse is working great so far, there are some problems/quality issues I have found using the mouse.
First of all, the mouse can be quite fragile.
A couple days ago, I accidentally dropped the mouse while I was moving around.
If it lands on the Aluminum side, there isn't that much damage. But if it falls on the multi-touch surface, the mouse can get some scratches on it. I recommend being careful when handling the mouse and try not to drop it too often.
Secondly, the mouse tends to get dirty.
If you have sweaty hands like me, the mouse can get easily covered with fingerprints. I have to clean the mouse once a week to keep the multi-touch working.
Last, when I use the Magic Mouse on Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro, the scrolling can be really bad. Even if you scroll just a little bit, you can scroll through a whole web page.
This can be really irritating, especially in games. The scrolling in Mac OS X is perfect, but in Windows, it can be quite awful.

Overall, the Magic Mouse can be a little bit fragile, can have minor scrolling problems on the Windows OS, and can catch a lot of fingerprints if you don't keep your hands dry. Other than that though, the mouse works quite perfectly. Its very compact, works perfectly on Bluetooth, and has a pretty long battery life. (I still recommend turning the mouse off when you shutdown.)

For normal mousing in most applications like web surfing, email, iPhoto, word processing, etc., this mouse is great! In Safari or Firefox, you can just "flick it" and it quickly scrolls up and down multiple pages! No other mouse can do this! For my somewhat smaller male hands, it feels comfortable and looks fantastic. I use Apple's rechargeable batteries and they have lasted four months now on my new iMac. I do however, turn the mouse off when not in use. I also leave the Apple wireless keyboard turned on, as it automatically turns off the power when now in use. Battery life is great if used correctly.

What I don't like about the Magic Mouse is how it works in design apps. For Illustrator, Photoshop, a sign program I use called FlexiSign, and most other graphic apps, it scrolls/moves/zooms too quickly, so you can be "lost" on screen. For these types of creative apps, I switch to a basic Logitech mouse with a normal wheel. It's too bad, but the Apple Magic Mouse is just not suitable for every use.

I bought this mouse recently.
I must admit I love the way it feels in your palm if you are not a freak that feels cold in your hand.
The surface has good sensitivity and the response is perfect.
I would recommend it for daily usage - web browsing, maybe Aperture - Photoshop retouching not recommended.
Although it's precise it may be uncomfortable for gaming or painting in Photoshop.
It's slim and it takes little space in your bag without bloating it.
I have other devices though I am constantly using this one.

I've been using this mouse for almost a month now and I have both good and bad things to say about it. First of all the concept of the mouse is fantastic! The touch screen top is unlike any other mouse out there and brings a new aspect to computing. Scrolling around 360 degree in documents is excellent. Although it is fun and ingenious, I feel like the quality of the mouse doesn't live up to the Apple standards that I have come to love. Every other product that I have bought from Apple has felt solid and well constructed and performed in the most optimum way I could imagine. Now the top part of this mouse is fine. It the bottom of it that bugs me. The silver plastic on the bottom just doesn't feel right and gives a cheap feeling to the mouse. Another concern and my biggest one at that, is the slidability™ of the mouse. I thought that this device was going to have a cadillac type luxury slide across my mousepad pre-judging by my previous experiences with Apple products. Instead the black rails on the bottom offer no such thing. The slide is far from luxurious. My old logitech mx518 offered a nicer slide. My last concern is the lack of middle mouse button support without third party applications. I'm sort of a purist in this area and try to use as little 3rd party apps as possible when dealing with hardware made by the same company as the computer/operating system. I think Apple should release a patch to fix it so we don't have to use MagicPrefs or something equivalent. Sometimes when working in Maya I will plug in my old mouse just because it's easier and faster to distinguish the 3 mouse buttons to navigate quickly around my objects. Even with these issues I still give this mouse 4 stars because it's just awesome. If they ever do release another version, a more luxurious sturdier version, I will be sure to buy it.
