I am a fan of Apple, have a Macbook, Macbook Pro, iPhone and many other cool things Apple offers. I have purchased 3 mice for our company and was VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED with it. It is heavy. You CAN'T feel it in your palm, tracking is not optimal. All in all, if you are a professional who does graphic design or video design and animation, this mouse would be the worst choice.
How could Apple drop the ball like this?
I would not even give it one star.
Without exagerration, this is the worst mouse i used since 1999 or so. And we will definately return them.

Multi-touch design is good.

But the mouse itself is too small even for my medium size hand.
Awesome if you only need the mouse for 5min.
Start hurting my hand after using it for 20min.

Magic mouse is a battery hog. My office Logitech wireless mouse with 5 buttons has also two AA cells but out lasts Magic mouse 5 to 1. I used my office mouse longer per day than my home Apple mouse. For 18 months I haven't needed battery cells for Logitech while my Apple Magic mouse eats battery cells almost every 4 months. I suspect it is a poor design and consumes power every time your hand touches it. So if you are thinking or reading a document with the hand resting on the mouse, it continues to draw power even when no action is occurring.

Awesome concept, great first couple months. Started losing connection a lot even after batteries were replaced. Fell off my desk and broke like a crystal figurine. Now I'd farther use a $10 Logitech wireless mouse that takes less batteries and never loose connection then pay $70 to replace the Mighty Mouse.

I would give it a zero rating if I could. Every single time I have to change the batteries on this mouse it then has pairing problems with the computer. Apple support has suggestions for fixing this, but THEY REQUIRE A MOUSE. They actually advise you to have a wired or usb mouse in order to install your wireless mouse (and the batteries go out pretty frequently). Wait until they improve the technology, it is so not worth the stress and aggravation.

It looks great but for me it works poorly...the mouse moves the cursor incredibly slowly even when set to the fastest speeds and for whatever reason when i move the mouse it does not move smoothly but rather as if it was grinding on sand or something like it....all in all this is the second apple mouse i have purchased and the second time i have had the problem with trackng being incredibly slow...i have never owned any other brand mice that had this issue and i had hoped it had been fixed in this new version...i assmed it would have been...seems very strange to me and i am perplexed as to how it isnt a deal breaker for everybody...works the same when i tried it out in the showroom with an apple desktop so i know itsnt just my setup!as i said,strange

If all you do is browse the web and read emails and all you want is a sexy looking mouse with a cool touch-scroll feature... go for it. 5 stars.

If you're a professional that has to actually get work done either in code or pixels... don't waste your money. Buy a Logitech Revolution or MS Laser 7000. The 7000 is an amazing mouse. Super lightweight. Very ergonomic. Plenty of functionality. Simple to use.

Pros:
- Sexy looks
- Scrolling is brilliant

Cons:
- Too thin. Only works as a finger mouse. Moving or 'kicking' with palm is impossible.
- Having to lift the index finger to right click with the middle finger is very awkward.
- Swipe gesture is very awkward. A simple thumb button is so much easier.
- Should have a matte surface to make scrolling smoother (less friction).
- Very heavy (but lithium cells might lighten it a bit).
- Slow tracking.
- Extremely limited functionality with just one button (or two if you insist) and only one usable gesture.

Apple hasn't made a good mouse since the ADB II. End of story. But I guess it makes sense for them not to compete with MS and Logitech. For a casual user (my mom)... this mouse would be fine.

After dealing with the awful thing I am finally rid of it and thrilled to have a Logitech mouse with real buttons. The Magic Mouse is wildly oversensitive - look at it funny and you're on a page you had no intention of going to. I really did try to live with it but it made trying to do anything online a nightmare. It's an elegant concept, but badly, badly executed. Worst Apple product I ever owned with the possible exception of the latest iPod Nano...

The mouse loses its Bluetooth connection roughly once an hour. Replacing the batteries doesn't help; it's just a fundamentally unreliable piece of hardware. I keep a trackpad handy and the mouse system preferences open at all times so I can reconnect it. I'm pretty much ready to buy a USB mouse and throw this in the trash. Apple should make a USB Magic Mouse in order to combine reliability and multitouch functionality.

Sure, it beautifully solves the roller ball problem that the mighty mouse had, but in doing so it completely sacrifices the "third button" the mighty mouse had. It was a useful button, and was introduced because it is useful, something the old mouse didn't have. Also, sacrifices the side buttons. Why? What's multi touch about it? All I'm doing with it is scrolling....The "swipe" is SUCH an awkward motion to do, why include it? The
"control zoom" has always been available, this isn't anything new! So really, it's a wireless mighty mouse with functionality compromises and a fix for the roller ball. I'm going back to might mouse, unless this is redesigned. Very weak from Apple.
