    So far so good.

Apple replaced my mighty mouse with the Magic under my warranty. Thanks Apple! Although there were a few tweaks I needed to make, like setting up dashboard access and having the windows revealed through expose, it took me less than 5 minutes to figure it all out. So far it works great, and is much better than the mighty mouse which was constantly breaking on me. I've turned it on and off and it finds my computer within 10 seconds. Battery life is irrelevant as I use eneloop rechargeable batteries which work just great. My pointer doesn't pop or jump around my screen, it's smooth as silk, even in applications like photo shop and final cut. I don't dare drop it, so I cannot attest to it losing connection when dropped. My only advice would be not to drop it. :) I just hope it lasts longer than the mighty, as it wasn't very mighty at all, having to be replaced every 3-6 months. I love scrolling on this mouse, it's very smooth. So far, I love it.

    Best mouse in 20+ years

I have been using mice for over 20 years. This is hands-down the best ever. Combine it with
    - dwellclick
    - jitouch
    - bettertouchtool
and you can double-click with a simple flick of the index finger, activate mission control and clear the view to show the desktop, etc, and TAP to click.
And the mobee charger takes it to the next level - even in respect of pointer sensitivity.
AND - one more thing - THANK YOU Apple for tweaking the mouse acceleration in Lion, at least when using this mouse. You have found the sweet spot, please do not change it in Mountain Lion.
There was a rumor a while back that Apple was discontinuing this mouse in favour of the Magic Trackpad. I read on Macrumors that there was a run on this mouse at all of the Apple Stores as a result. I tell you, I am seriously contemplating stocking up on this baby in case something happens ...

    Love the Apple Magic Mouse

I was originally afraid to purchase this, based on some customer complaints that it's not ergonomically designed. Well, I've owned the device for just a few hours and it feels like a glove in my hand. I admit that I was a bit afraid from complaints about having to download new driver software before my purchase... I have a new MacBook Pro and guess I am lucky there. OK... so all I did, literally, was power on the Apple Magic Mouse, turn on my MacBook Pro, and go to Apple - System Preferences - set up Blue Tooth... so easy! This mouse looks great - no ugly buttons or wheels... nothing to collect dust in the cracks... OMG, Apple has done it again!

been using this for 3 days now and it is amazing. the battery life is great as i am still at 100%. there are some apps that you can download that are free and make it fully customizable! this mouse is just sleep , sexy and something i use everyday on my MBP. i still love the track pad on my mac when i can tag along my mouse but its so small that i can do so as well. $69.99 may seem like a lot for a mouse but with apple we all know you get what you pay for! APPLE products are simply the best in my opinion

No regrets in buying this mouse at all. Not just comfortable to use with expanded functionality, if you want a wireless mouse that's lighter than the original Apple Wireless Mouse, and looks real sleek, there's no sense in debating - just buy it and enjoy.

Not ideal for use on a couch. Very nice otherwise.

I use this mouse with a Mac mini that drives a large LCD TV that I use for entertainment (youtube, hulu, pbs.org etc.). Here is what I like about it:

    * The swiping, gestures, and scrolling are fantastic. More amazing is that it's on a round surface.
    * The battery seems to last very long for me. I tend to use this about 20-30 mins. per day and get 3 months or more on it.
    * I really like the feel of the mouse
    * The bluetooth connection has been very reliable and is able to wake the mini from sleep which is really nice

Here is where it is not ideal for my application / purposes:

    * It doesn't work well on a couch or 'living room surfaces' (this is more a problem with optical mice than this design).
    * If I had to do it over again, I would get the magic trackpad which is stationary and would fix
    this issue.

Since I've found this design to work very well in a typical use casel I gave it 5 stars. For couch use I don't think it's the right choice, but that is not it's fault--that's a mismatch in application.

    Best mouse I've owned!

So previously I was using the old mighty mouse that came with my iMac. I was never happy with it, as the trackball would get stuck, clicking would sometimes take multiple tries, and I always accidently pressed the side buttons.
Today I received the Magic Mouse and all I can say is WOW. Firstly, it looks like a piece of art. Absolutely beautiful. Second, everything works perfectly for me on it. Tracking, is excellent and very fluid. Scrolling by moving your finger up and down is genius. Works just as good as my MacBook trackpad. The mouse also feels very comfortable in my hand. For me, not having the side buttons is actually better. As I previously said, I always used to accidently hit them. By the way, I have a 24" iMac, and tracking is extremely fast. Not sure why some people are having difficulties with this. Setting up the bluetooth was extremely quick and easy also. Is this mouse more pricy than others? Yes. Do I think it's worth it? So far, yes I do. I don't mind paying a little extra for products that work as they're intended to.

I have wanted this mouse for sooo long!! I had been using a mighty mouse for a long time and the scroll ball became very annoying, so when I saw the magic mouse I just knew that it would be a quality replacement. The magic mouse is very light compared to the mighty mouse and although I cannot activate expose` or spaces with the magic mouse, it is still a GREAT MOUSE! I have read reviews regarding battery life, but I will have to wait and see whether I have any issues with my mouse. But as of right now, I love it!! Great Job APPLE!!!!!

I was kind of skeptical at first and it took some getting used to, but now I LOVE this mouse. I use it with a MacBook Pro and couldn't be happier. It's easy to pack and unpack, and the battery life has been excellent. No problems with it and no complaints. Great, great product.

Note - I did download "MagicPrefs," which can greatly enhance the tracking speed and the functionality of the mouse...highly recommend getting it if you decide to get it.

    Excellent Mouse

After test-driving (å la the first Mac marketing program about 25 years ago) at the local Apple store, I bought this wonderful mouse.

It's great to eliminate cables (that inevitably seem to get snarled) and scroll balls (that get fouled and then don't work). I rarely use the two-finger swipe so this is just a better Mighty Mouse. Oh, and it has superb "heft" and feel."

It seems to consume more battery power than I expected, but that's my only quibble -- I simply get a set of rechargeable ones.

P.S. It took forever to get this review through the automated filter -- without any indication, the filter objected to a word that means the opposite of "soft" (which I used to describe battery consumption and subsequently deleted after much trial and error). Apple, flag those naughty words in red, would ya?

An excellent product by Apple that is totally going unnoticed in the market of the iPad and newer models of their computing lines. This thing is simply amazing and requires no learning curve...if you've used an Apple track-pad in the last 5 years, this mouse will feel like the next logical progression. Feels sturdy, looks great, and solves all of the Mighty Mouse problems with gunk build-up in the tracking ball. If you're looking for a wireless desk set-up, this is a must have...and at a great price for the tech!

this mouse is great, looks stunning, easy set up, awesome response time. The only complaint that I have is the speed of the tracking - which is easily fixed by this terminal command: defaults write -globalDomain com.apple.mouse.scaling -float 12.0 (log off and log back on required to make changes take effect)

Totally worth the money, where the iphone and pointing device meet.

    :)

You did it again Apple! 

I was skeptical of the mouse after reading some of the bad reviews - but let me tell you, this thing rocks and is such an upgrade from the Mighty Mouse. One recommendation is to download to MagicPrefs and it will do things for you that I never thought could be done with a mouse. Definitely worth the stiff $69 price tag.

Mac has hit a home run!!!

I used to be a Windows only PC person. Mac has changed all of that. This easy out of the box and ready to go unit is not the staple of our home environment. I love the Mac and all that comes with it. iTunes, iPhone, Mac, and now the wireless mouse. I am Mac/Apple all the way. The start up and shut time is only about 30 seconds. With no need for security software and the ability to easily control downloads unto the computer I say Mac has hit a home run!!!

I've had this mouse since it first came out. I can honestly say that this is a drastic improvement over the mighty mouse wireless mouse! The mighty mouse's track ball would constantly get clogged and it seemed like it just never quite worked as well as it should have. The magic mouse is a dream come true! Works perfectly 100% of the time. If you own a mighty mouse it is time for an upgrade!

This mouse is much more useful when third-party software is applied to it, such as Better Touch Tool. Software can enable things like three, four, five finger tap, middle click, and all kinds of other things!!

For those who have lived with endless frustrations of the Mighty Mouse (now called the Apple Mouse, -mighty) the light is shining upon us -- behold, the mighty mouse. It works great and feels great to the touch. And best of all, that scroll ball that didn't work when you tried to scroll up is gone! Now you can just use those cool gestures
