    Worst mouse ever

    • Written by from New York

Battery life is horrible. Despite new battery connections drops very frequently. Will not recommend to buy it.

    Flawed Product

    • Written by from Toronto

On many levels it should be delight. But this mouse is technically flawed. Well, my unit is notoriously bad at staying connected. It'll just drops—with plenty of battery—then reconnects. Sometimes I have to flick the switch on the back on then off to make it happen. That little switch is also so flimsy that you half expect it to give up the ghost and really make for totally inconsistent experience.

I want a usable mouse, which this isn't over the long-term. This product simply doesn't meet Apple's otherwise high standards.

    Design defect

    • Written by from Macon

When this works new out of the box, it is a wonderful, innovative product. No other mouse I know approaches its versatility and ease of use. Pairing was easy with a MacBook Air. But after only a few months when the batteries ran down and I didn't use it (I was out of the country), the batteries leaked and the mouse became inoperative. The green LED did not come on with new batteries and cleaned terminals. The batteries were not the culprits, they were good Duracell batteries. On other web sites I have noticed the same problem.
Apple has to correct this design defect. This is an unacceptable shortcoming from an otherwise very innovative product. For its price, I cannot afford to replace them twice a year.
I trust Apple engineer read these reviews and will rectify this unfortunate design defect.

    Worthless piece of junk.

    • Written by from La Honda

This bluetooth mouse isn't worth the money I paid for it. It constantly looses connection (in use no more than 12 inches from my Mac Mini). I have changed the battery numerous times. Turned it off, turned it on, swiped it on different surfaces. Nothing helps. I've gone back to using the USB mouse I had before. Thank goodness I didn't toss that.

    Great functionality but poor design

    • Written by from Floral Park

It took a little bit to get used to it but once I did liked it a lot. However with daily use the bottom starts to grind off leaving metal filing from it all over my work space and on me. Noting this to a few friends who also have it, it doesn't matter if a mouse pad is used or not. So in the end it's a health hazard.

Seriously $70 for mouse and it still uses AA batteries?? I'm tired of buying batteries for this mouse. Make the next version rechargeable.

    Bad tracking / Not precise

    • Written by from Columbia

The mouse keeps having issues moving on the mouse mat. I tried it with it, without it, over glass, over paper, over leather, over a matte plastic surface, and nothing. The precision of it is really bad. The rubber pads at the bottom make the mouse to stick to almost every surface, so when you have to be very precise, and apply little force to it to move it 2 or 3 pixels, it keeps sticking to the surface, and if you apply more force it "jumps" from where you are. Dissapointed. I am going back to the Apple Store for a refund. My old Dell plastic US$ 3 mouse does it waaaaay better than this US$ 74.

Good, but it get me crazy disconnecting by itself

    • Written by from Sanford

The functionality of the mouse if good, easy to use and practicable.
The down side of it, is that the battery life is poor and for some reason it disconnects a lot during use.
For the price charged, in my opinion I wouldn't like to experience problems with it.

I don't know why people keep complaining.

    • Written by from Albert Lea

I've owned my magic mouse for 4 months and haven't had to replace the batteries yet. It's tracking works great and it never misreads my touches or clicks. It is my favorite mouse I have ever owned.

    Needs to be more ergonomic

    • Written by from Mississauga

I love this mouse, i really do. From the smooth scrolling to the precise pointing.
However, I am also a frequent computer user. Although the mouse looks really nice, it absolutely needs to be more ergonomic. My hands would hurt after an hour of using it. I would love to see a change in form factor in the next version of this mouse.

    S*#t Product

    • Written by from Richmond

The 'magic' mouse is S&#T! My iMac is almost two years old, and this weekend is the FOURTH time I will be going back to Apple to have it replaced. Lucky (if one could call it that) the first three were replaced free of charge by Apple here in Sydney. Keeps cutting off even with fresh batteries, very frustrating. Using my old corded mouse for now, helluva' lot better.

    A fine product, this mouse

    • Written by from Heiligenhaus

I like this mouse from the very first moment, I used it.

It gives a good feeling and is a fine extension to the built in track-panel of my MacBook Pro.

    Recommendation for this wonderful mouse.

    Hard to get used to

    • Written by from Raleigh

Very hard to get used to, the slightest touch causes me to scroll all over the page. I preferred the Apple Mighty Mouse but the scroll ball kept getting stuck so I thought I would try this one. No scroll ball to get stuck but the surface is hypersensitive. Also the batter life stinks, I have to replace the batteries about every 5 weeks.

    4 Years and Kicking!

    • Written by from Olympia

Had my mouse for four years and it is still kicking. Only time I had problems was when I had used my imac bluetooth devices with other mac products and didn't properly disassociate after I was finished. Otherwise it has been a smooth ride. In fact when I use other computers and other mice it feels like a step back in time.

    Magic mouse

    • Written by from Aguadilla

I have used up to date 2 magic mouse. Like other users have also shared, this mouse works great but both of mine have stopped working before a year of use. The mouse is expensive to be replacing it every year. Also when it does work it tends to disconnect frequently and this is a very frustration situation. I don't know if the track pad is better or not but I will be trying that next or use an aftermarket mouse to do the job.

The aluminum part from the bottom of the mouse peels off.

    • Written by from missoula

I've been only using this mouse less than half year so far, but I've already got the color from the aluminum has been worn out really bad. The parts that are usually contacted by my fingers turned into black! First time when I purchased this sleek looking mouse, I had instinctively thought it should be just like iPhone 5's metal part, but It looks like they processed it differently... Color from the bottom of the mouse wears off so easily.

    Ruins my productivity

    • Written by from Sterling

While this mouse in nice in concept, the sensitivity of the scrolling surface on the top of the mouse is really problematic. It is far too sensitive and results in constant problems. At the slightest mis-touch of a finger, you will find your slides scrolling up or down, you will find webpages going forward or back, or you will find yourself suddenly on a different page of the document you were working on. It is also difficult to precisely scroll back to a particular slide because the sensitivity is so high. Working with this mouse probably makes me 5-10% less productive on a daily basis because I am constantly having to scroll back to the spot I was working on. I would much prefer the classic scroll wheel or the mini-track ball of the Apple Mouse since it is far less likely that I will accidentally activate those devices.

Surprised by all the positive reviews

    • Written by from Northridge

I am surprised by all the positive reviews. The connection is lost every few minutes which makes working with Excel sheets a nightmare. I continually need to wait until the mouse connects again. Will be returning to the the standard mouse so that I can finish my work without swearing every 3 minutes
