    My Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Sylvania

I bought the Magic Mouse this past saturday and absolutely love it. It only took a few minutes to hook it up and it definitely has a good feel in the hand. I'm a design major in college and use Adobe programs a lot and have heard this mouse wasn't very good for it. Well I'll tell you what I used it for four different projects over the weekend and it worked just fine. As long as you turn the scroll speed down and the momentum setting for the mouse off you'll have no problem with the Adobe programs. I would recommend this product to any Mac user looking to replace there USB mouse with the roller ball that tends to break. Its definitely a good investment.

    Another great mouse from Apple!

    • Written by from Rehoboth

Bought this magic mouse to replace my bluetooth mighty mouse. The new mouse is amazingly more superior to the older mouses, and the removal of trackball for finger motion is amazing. The lack of a trackball also avoids the problems with previous mouses with clogging of dirt.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice, sleek peripheral, especially if trying to keep an all Apple look.

    Price<Quality

This mouse is really easy to use and gives me so many features that i wish i had before. I was worried about the lack of scroll ball but it was still great. I can only complain about the "natural scrolling" but that can be disabled. I love how the shape is comfortable and feels like Im using a iphone as a mouse. never had connection problems in 2 years.

    Pretty good

    • Written by from California City

I just washed this in my washing machine on accident and it still works.... it really is magic....

And my battery life seems to be lasting pretty long, I'm not sure why people think it's a battery hog. I use mine regularly and haven't had to change the batteries on it. It's been over a year now.

the fact that you can make it have a 'right click' function is just awesome. It also works on pretty much any surface. Loving it.

    Not for every application

    • Written by from RESEDA

Excellent form, bad function. Although beautifully designed, the magic mouse falls short of being a magical solution for most applications where a wheel button is a must. panning and navigating within an application is a nightmare. The mouse is way too sensitive and it scrolls when you don't want it to. It is very heavy and does not slide smoothly on any surface. For any serious workstation or Pro users this product is a skip. I was very excited at first but ended very disappointed and I am true Mac enthusiast.

Sleek, but no Orbit/Pan Third Button

    • Written by from San Clemente

Overall, I prefer this magic mouse to both USB and wireless Mighty Mouse, but CAD efficiency was so severely hindered w/o a Third Button for Orbit/Pan that I had to return it. I did enjoy everything else about it though; lower height was easier on wrist, heavier weight gave it a nice responsive motion, and the click, touch scroll,..etc was perfect. I wanted to keep it. But not being able to easily orbit/pan in SketchUp and other CAD apps was annoying.

Best and Worst mouse i've ever owned

    • Written by from Arlington

Features make it the best, can't find anything that is as easy to use as the Apple Magic Mouse, on the other hand the design is terrible. Using this mouse for more than 10 minutes and my wrist, finger and hand in general start to hurt. And every time that happens i'll reach for another mouse but the other mouses don't do the gestures that the Magic Mouse does. I really hate this mouse and I really love it, I really hope that Apple makes a more ergonomic version of this mouse soon because my hand is tired of it. With everything that Apple does I don't understand how this product every reached the public, to say the truth, even if you love Apple don't buy this mouse it is not worth the pain that it brings. Just use a off brand for now and wait until Apple decides to update their mice to a more efficient design that doesn't cause pain in the hand.

    Magic Mouse

    • Written by from LAGUNA NIGUEL

I replaced my wired mouse about a years ago, got tired of wire getting in the way, the Magic Mouse works great, so much more convenient and functional than my wired mouse, the only complaint I have is that I have to replace the batteries every couple of months, that's not too bad since I use my computer about 8 hours a day five days a week.

Using this mouse all day, everyday.

    • Written by from Bolingbrook

I just started using this mouse about three weeks ago, I am on the computer most of the day with my job. The only thing I see that I don't like is the edge of the mouse is
sharp. It needs to be smoother. For someone like me that works all day with my hand on the mouse it is a bit annoying. I hope this is changed on the next mouse they create. Otherwise I like the way it functions, so I am giving it 4 stars because of this.

    Getting better

    • Written by from Boca Raton

1000 times better than the mighty mouse but still a 20 dollar usb mouse wins all day long in usability and comfort....Apple needs to give a little on design and make a good mouse. It HAS to have a middle mouse wheel and button (not the dumb little ball from mighty mouse ) and split the left and right buttons better. I do not care about side buttons but I need three physical reliable!!! buttons . Next, like a good chair, you should be able to use the mouse all day long without hurting your hand (there is absolutely zero arch support for your hand and its not wide enough). Lastly, do like the sony Playstation controllers (xbox should also do this...) and add a detachable wire to the keyboard and mouse. Personally I will pick wired all day long over wireless. Always on, better precision, I don't have to replace batteries, never have to sync. This would give a wired or wireless option to all mice and keyboards.... simple .... (sorry that this kills your line of rechargeable batteries... well you can still leave the batteries in there I guess....)

They can keep the gesture control but move it down to the belly of the mouse. The left center wheel and right button will not have gesture control but below the buttons in the center it would work like the magic mouse does currently. For browsing web sites it is nice...for anything else like.... games & work... give me my 20 dollar mouse back....

    Lack of side buttons

    • Written by from Encino

I just got this mouse a few hours ago. It is very nice, but I kept my old mighty mouse for the side buttons that I squeeze to disappear all windows and see the desktop and the roller ball on top that I push to see dashboard. Then I remembered that I had already programmed the hot corners so that one does the same function as the side buttons and another brings me to dashboard. So for those of you hesitating to get this mouse because of losing those functions, hesitate no more. Just remember to go to desktop and screensaver in System Preferences and set two of the hot corners for those functions.

    This mouse is addictive

    • Written by

I am so addicted to this mouse. It quickly became an essential part of my computer. This mouse is best for those who use their computer to web surf as Apple really aims the software at that. But it is even useful when browsing around your computer (the two finger swipes work for back and forward through folders) or looking over word/excel (the ability to scroll 180 degrees is very useful here).

As for hand cramping, you just have to hold it right. With this mouse it is best to lightly hold it on the sides with your thumb and second to last finger and let your hand arch naturally from that (don't rest your palm on the mouse) and your hand will be naturally at a good position for it (and you won't notice not having a rest really).

Also, download Magic Prefs. This software fully explores the potential of the magic mouse which sadly the default prefs on OSX really don't give this mouse near enough credit. As well as the obvious gestures that the default prefs don't support but is obvious this mouse could support, the mouse also can sense where you click (it's not just if you click on the right or left side of the mouse which is what I thought). It can also sense up to four fingers clicking on it (so with Magic Prefs you can set it to have an action for clicking with one finger, two fingers, three fingers, or four). It can also sense taps and where the taps are as well as how many fingers are tapping. Magic Prefs takes full advantage of this. Those who are complaining of lack of Expose buttons? Not if you download this software (as well as taking advantage of spaces and zooming amongst various other actions you can set the gestures/taps/clicks to).

Cool design, not ergonomic, limited functionality

    • Written by from LOS ANGELES

I love the design but feel they could have done so much with the multi-touch interface. First and most important, there is no middle mouse function. This alone is why my Magic Mouse is sitting at the side of my desk and I'm back to using my old wired mouse. I can't use it with most of my work apps w/o a MMB. And for long term use my hand aches as it's low profile is hardly ergonomic. Cool concept but a regretful purchase.

    Best Mouse Ever!

    • Written by from Fresno

This is without question the coolest Mouse ever made! Feels slick in your hand, ergonomically designed. Yes I said as many others...another mouse, why? Well once you use this you will understand why you need the feel of the iPhone in your hand while you work, because the touch sensitive mouse works similarly. Scrolling is like the iPhone where you scroll quickly and suddenly and screen glides by and slowly slows down, like scrolling on the iPhone. It can right click through a change in Setup. I use it on a MBP and it just works together. If you do a lot of 'mouse work' clicking and moving like I do with Final Cut it is a necessity. Connects to Mac in seconds via bluetooth. Hard to find in some stores now, ordered it on-line, came within about a week. Forget mighty mouse and those cheap PC mice, this is the one!

    ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL!

    • Written by from Burnsville

Poor rating reviews of this mouse almost never ever mention quality because its quality is superb and unmatched. Most reviewers complain concerning its shape. I have large to medium sized hands and I love this mouse. At first use it WILL be awkward but after a short time your hand will "have a memory" of the most comfortable position. For some this mouse does not work because all hands are not alike.
