    Good Mouse

This mouse is extremely sleek and low profile, but once again Apple has designed it for style and not comfort. The mouse did not slide well on my granite counter top, so I placed a mouse pad underneath and it worked like a breeze. Absolutely no connection problems whatsoever. Overall, good mouse and I would recommend the mouse to any friend.

Frequently looses connection, has difficulty re-connecting

Nice design attempt, but poor bluetooth implementation compared to the Apple bluetooth keyboards. Have two magic mice, and both loose their connection frequently, and once the connection has been lost, it can take over a minute or require a power cycle or two to re-connect. Very annoying. Some mentions on the web that loose batteries might be the problem. Doesn't explain the long reconnect times. I recommend the keyboard, not the mouse.

    Fantastic, but...

I was use to my basic Logitech mouse, so when I first got the Magic Mouse that came with my iMac I hated it. It was just too heavy and felt awkward. So I stuck the thing into a drawer and there it set for almost a year. When my other mouse went toes-up, I pulled the Apple out of mothballs and started using it. Wow, what was I thinking when I stuck it in the drawer. This thing is great!

It does take some getting use to. Be patient, it is worth it. The mouse combines the best of 2 technologies, mouse and touch pad. The added swipe and tap gestures give you so much more control at your finger tips. Safari is especially enhanced by these features.

I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for two things:
-It's not a good mouse for portability. It is heavier than the typical mouse and the top surface is glass. One bad drop on a hard surface and there goes $69.
-Battery life is awful. This mouse gets hungry a lot. I have to feed it new batteries every 4-6 weeks. Rechargeable batteries are a must.

    Nothing magic

There is nothing magic about this mouse.: It works only sometimes. You will have to revert to the touch-pad to do anything other than simple scrolling. You will do just as well with a regular wireless mouse and save yourself some money.

    worst mouse i ever used

which numpty decided a flat mouse was a good idea. a hand naturally sits curved if you use your finger tips to push buttons and do gestures. Your palm is left floating in mid air or your finger tips hang over the top. Cant believe this gto through testing. just give it an inch more height and just make the top surface for gestures... jeeeezzz

Magic Mouse - Not the expected quality

So now I have the 3rd Magic mouse breaking down again. You probably ask yourself why I bought three of them, well so do I. For each mouse, after a couple of months of use, you have it disconnect and connect on regular basis, making you loose time and patience. If you just put the mouse down on the mat, a bit too hard, or if it barely touches your coffee cup, it will disconnect. Just annoying quality - I think I ll go with a cheap mouse again

Worked awesome for awhile, but after about a year, a TON of glitches, including not being able to scroll, and when you right click-it left clicks.....ANNOYING!

Will not buy this product again, although was fun while it lasted....

This mouse is slick sexy excellent but falls short of expectation due to its gargantuan battery requirements. I have brought my iMac home about two months ago and the batteries needed to be replaced 3 times already. Don't get me wrong ... I LOVE apple products. From the iPads to the iPhones to the MacBook Pros to the iMac ... I can open up my own Apple store from my house. I think the solution to this problem would be to make the Apple Mouse rechargeable whether using the new 30-pin connector cable or some form of a charging docking station.

No Pixie Dust Here with Magic Mouse - Stick with $10 Mouse

Having been a loyal Apple enthusiast for quite some time, I have to admit that I hesitated a bit in buying the Magic Mouse owing to all the negative reviews it had received out there. But, again being a loyal Apple enthusiast, I bought it.

I encountered, like many, the connect/disconnect issues on a daily basis, but I didn't find this all that annoying ... the critter had to take a break I guess. What really frustrated me beyond anything was the unpredictable "pauses" the thing would take while I was designing or simply browsing. The cursor would just very briefly yield to nothing while your hand was in the middle of moving the mouse across the design or something. Imagine for a second that you were clipping an image, erasing a fine line, or simply moving to click a button ... and suddenly your cursor is not where you're expecting it!

I will not buy this product again. It has wasted much of my time, and really disappointed ... I really expected more from Apple ... at least a mouse that works as well as a $10 one.

Lovely Design...not so Lovely when Designing.... (Not very ergonomic)

The mouse looks so sleek and great and functions well as a wireless device etc. Props there, however as a Graphic Designer I use the mouse all day long every day. Since getting a new imac and this mouse I've noticed unusual pain in my hand and wrist after using the mouse for long periods of time. A more ergonomic mouse would be make my job that much more wonderful!

    Not a great mouse

This mouse is really sleek and modern looking. The problem is that it is extremely uncomfortable to use. It is WAY too flat, and too narrow. The gestures are extremely different than the trackpad, and you cant have two fingers on the mouse when you do anything. You have to have only one finger touching the surface for a right click, for scrolling, etc. Not happy in the least.

Dear Jonathan Ive, pleast STOP designing museum pieces!

    Dear Jonathan,
I'm 99% sure that you have never used this "mouse" for your work. Because if you did, you would find out that is utterly useless to anyone but occasional Mac user whose only interaction with a computer is to check email or do some light web browsing (in Safari?).

What Jonathan doesn't fully understand is that the mouse is your one-way connection to the machine, not other way around. This mouse is perfect piece for MoMA exhibit and not for a serious computer users desk.

Dear Jonathan, I challenge you to design your next Apple hardware masterpiece using nothing but this mouse. You will find out in no time that it flies really nicely across your studio and it doesn’t lose much speed when it hits the wall, because it is very aerodynamically shaped.

    Pros:
    - Beautiful ambidextrous design
    - Easy to configure and to connect from “cold start” with your Mac
    - Tracks and responds very nicely for a wireless mouse
    - Eliminates “one more wire” from your desk
    - Great for casual Mac user
    Cons:
    - Relatively heavy for its size
    - Doesn’t glide easily at all over mouse pad or a desk surface
    - Awkward non-ergonomically design
    - “Lag” feel when clicking – bad micro switch internal placing position?
    - Surface feels “sticky” for smooth finger gesture operation
    - Interference when used close to the Wacom tablet
    - Useless with application that require middle mouse button

    Conclusion:
For me personally the mouse, besides the keyboard, is the only piece of hardware that must perform flawlessly. This mouse fails way to short for my personal use. It seems to me that Apple for years now tries so hard to re-invent the wheel. In this case Apple is so stubborn in their mouse design philosophy – form over function.

If you want to interact occasionally with your Mac and OS X, and you want to use gestures, please consider the Magic Trackpad over the Magic Mouse.

And for you Jonathan.. get back to the drawing board and make us something good looking and functional.

I was a little hesitant to buy this, given some of the mixed reviews, but I'm really glad I did! The trackball on my wireless Mighty Mouse bit the dust and quit scrolling, so I decided to upgrade to this. Unless you're just completely unfamiliar with Apple products, I don't possibly see how this mouse is hard to use--or anything less than awesome. Looks and feels great in my hand and makes navigating the web, browsing through photos, or anything else 10 times easier than before! I don't think the battery life is anything unusual for a wireless mouse--I'm a heavy computer user and replace mine about once every 2 months. Not really a big deal at all. Loving this mouse so far! Also, you can customize how it works and how it scrolls. I think a fair number of people writing reviews don't know that...

I absolutely love this mouse. It does everything I ask and more! Comes with batteries and the sink process was easy as cake. I would recommend this mouse to anyone who is wanting a high end well produced product. If you are looking for a mouse to compliment your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air, then look no further. I would buy this mouse again and again.
