    Best mouse I've ever owned

    • Written by from Pullman

As God is my witness, I cannot figure out what the negative reviewers are talking about. The Apple Magic Mouse IS the best mouse I've ever owned -- and it's my first wireless mouse! It tracks perfectly. I can set it up so that if I click the right side of the mouse, it "right-clicks." It scrolls by just rolling my finger over the surface -- no noisy, annoying roller buttons. The technology contained in this little $69 mouse is outstanding. i would buy this mouse 100 times over rather than buy any other mouse I've ever owned once.

    Improved, but not really

    • Written by from Camrose

Glass top is a nice improvement over the mini-ball of the mighty, which gunks up and requires replacement every few months, but this mouse is ergonomically painful and hurts the back of the hand & wrist within minutes of use and chomps through batteries which are full of nasty chemicals. Strange, this company doesn't seem to have the wit or will to figure it out. Expensive landfill matter.

    Bad in every significant way

    • Written by from Redmond

I have the Apple mouse, don't know the product number or SKU but it is wireless, no buttons or side scrollers or anything. Cost like 70 USD, if that's any clue.

The thing is lousy. EATS batteries like it's Shark Week, not for breakfast, merely as appetizer. Secondly, loses connection CONSTANTLY, like every few minutes I need to go into system preferences and try to re-connect, but lately i just give up and switch back to the trackpad (macbook pro). Thirdly, the battery cover is a total train wreck! Impossible to replace back on the unit once you've taken it off (which you need to do every day or two due to the pathetic battery life). It's this little tin plate that's like something made by some stoner kid needing to pass shop class in the final week with at least a C- average or he can't graduate. I mean, THIS is what we're all supposed to wonder and adore as the apogee of 21st century DESIGN and ERGNOMICS and cool efficiency, APPLE COMPUTER CORP?? Total joke.

(By the way, this review system is also crummy, when you submit it says "Some words in your review cannot be published. Please revise your review" But it doesn't say or highlight which words are verboten! I thought this company is the sine qua non of USER INTERFACE DESIGN! Good for a laugh. I do understand though - when you have 70 Billion cash reserves you don't need to worry about this kind of chickenfeed.)

    Connection Problems

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I wanted to love the Magic Mouse, but the connection problems made me want to throw the thing across the room. Some days, it worked beautifully; other days, the mouse lost Bluetooth connection a few times an hour and became very jumpy (the cursor wouldn't move at all and then would suddenly shoot across the screen). The only thing that helped was to open the battery compartment and make sure the batteries were shoved as far in as possible (they came loose every time I raised the mouse off my desk, even slightly). I read lots of posts in forums talking about this issue, and there are MacGyver-type solutions (involving tin foil and folded paper), but I couldn't justify having to do that after what this mouse cost. So, I took it back to the Apple Store and exchanged it for the Magic Trackpad, which has worked flawlessly.

    Best Mouse Ever!

    • Written by from Raleigh

I needed a mouse for my MacBook for a while, but was unsure which one to choose from (whether to stick with an Apple product or go for some other brand). After rave reviews from my friend about the Magic Mouse, I finally decided to buy it. It is AMAZING!! This mouse can do so much more than the trackpad on the MacBook. The bluetooth connected seamlessly and it is much more fluid in movement. Great product!! I only wish it had some kind of case to protect it.

    Good mouse.

    • Written by from Toronto

The mouse is sleek & Cool. Quite responsive. My beefs are: you always get it upside down, cause it is same on both ends. Most kids would seem to have trouble maneuvering it due to Large sizet.. One star is gone for quite expensive cost

Never had such a poor mouse!

It's the third that goes bad on me in two years! Apple is letting their standards go to the dogs! Very disappointing. And on top one mouse costs $ 69 plus taxes!!!!

Good, but could be better for the price

    • Written by from Mamaroneck

Unlike what other people are saying, this mouse works great for me. I don't have connection issues, the battery life is good, however, my only problem (which is arguably the most important) is how uncomfortable the feel of the mouse is. I'm really depressed, because I do love the mouse and it's features, but it's sharp edges bother my fingers after a while. I'll give it a 3/5 because I've only had it for a week and I'm getting a new mouse.

    Keeps Dying

    • Written by from Port Coquitlam

I have to re-synch this mouse to my computer every few hours. Today, after less than a year, it will not stay in synch for more than a minute. This is the second one I've bought in 18 months. NOT IMPRESSED.

Love the design, yet I won't use it anymore

    • Written by from Punta Umbría

Bought it a year ago, and I am giving up. The mouse keeps disconnecting. I have tried all. Even bought the Apple rechargable batteries, which by the way, one pair of them is already gone after using them just one time. Very disappointed with this product.

I do photoshop work using this mouse. For each photo, I click the mouse many times and very strenuously. It's almost been a year and the mouse has not let me down. It is also very useful to have side scrolling.

    Another quality product from Apple!

    • Written by from ARLINGTON HEIGHTS

..great product from Apple. And to those that are complaining about battery life, please take a close look @ the batteries that are used by Apple. They are the Energizer Lithium Batteries, which last much longer than the traditional Energizer batteries. A bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny with the battery life you get out of them.

Awesome but with very short life use

    • Written by from Naranjito

It is a smooth and incredible mouse. I have had three of them, but it does not because I like too much it because it suddenly stop working and need to be replaced (if it is in warranty period). Design and functionality 5 stars, short life use 1 star, so I give it three stars.

    Way to flat and small

    • Written by from LIMA

The mouse is great if you have small hands and fingers but if you have larger hands and fingers like I do, its way too flat and small. Go back to the drawing board Apple or at least come up with a larger mouse. I give it a one-star for me.

I mean, even if it wasn't for the constant FAILURE this mouse would still FAIL. I mean, you're supposed to be the most cutting-edge company on the planet and I'm replacing AA batteries every two weeks? Apple is Radio Shack with a better graphic design team.

A spastic mouse that eats energy

    • Written by from Moscow

I did not like this mouse. Yes, it is sleek, but I tried changing many parameters and never did find settings that yielded a stable unit. It was particularly bad when trying to work with a powerpoint document. A slight twitch and I would go from slide 25 to slide 2. It was very frustrating. If I sneezed, my screen would zoom out and get stuck in the spooky margins outside my view. I turned off the battery every night and still it sucked power. I don't like the battery system.

    Wish I could say different...

    • Written by from Denham Springs

I wish i could be one of the ones giving high remarks and review... but sadly not. I am on my second one within my first year of being an Apple customer. Bought it with my 1st macbook Pro. Both of my magic mice I have owned had the same exact problem... constant loosing connection... over and over and over. When you make your living with this thing in your hand... it is so disappointing. I have read these reviews as far back as 2011 and it seems nothing has changed. I have also had all the issues of the sensitivity and it swiping you to another screen without you touching it and closing or exiting an application before you ever touch it. You either hate it... or you love it. I am very close to the "hate it" point. I have to say, I took the first one back to the apple store and they replaced it immediately. I am sure they probably would this one... but who wants to keep going through the same thing!? And then there is those that will tell you to not pay attention to the "negative" reviews... That's a crock of bull. These "negative" reviews are real and they are the truth... as much truth as all the positive ones. If people were going to lie in a review... do you seriously think they would do it on a mouse??? I went into the mall store today and was talking to an apple rep about my issue... his suggestion... buy a Mobee(sp?) super charger so you wouldn't have to worry about batteries. Really? spend another $40??? So I would have to spend over $100 (I spent $69 on the mouse!) just to get a mouse that works??? I cant believe that was his suggestion! I have to say as many others have... this is the only product from Apple that has ever disappointed me. Look... we all love all our other Apple products.. none of us would leave apple and go back to PC over a mouse issue... so why not make a good one!? I don't want another exchange Apple! I want a wireless mouse that works... Please.... pretty please.... pretty please with sugar on top! Can you do that? Will you do that? Can you imagine the change in all these reviews if you did!!?? I ... for one... would certainly come back and do just as i have done here... tell the truth!
