This mouse is terrible for gaming you cannot press both buttons at the same time which is essential for some games also the left button is kind of hard to find other than that it is nice not to have to switch between screens with the track pad

When this mouse works it's great but the connection is so sporadic it renders it useless, the bluetooth functionality of both mouse and keyboard leave a lot to be desired, I went back to my old wireless pc mouse and the connection is fine.

I'll add my two cents to the pile. I was just about to buy a new mouse since this one loses connection so much, and I fly through batteries so much. I guess everyone else has the same problem. I noticed that when the green light goes out, I lose connection. Sometimes it takes more than a few seconds to relight. Thanks goodness I can plug in my old mouse and get some work done.

love this mouse, the feel & functionality, no wires but constantly loses connection. Battery life is so short and once the battery gets to 50% FORGET IT.... just change them or you will end up taking a hammer to the poor mouse. The connection issues drive me mad and its not worth the money. I would rather have my old mouse back with the wireless usb plug. I also have the magic mouse pad i hope it doesnt have the same issues...i havent even taken it out of the box yet. If anyone knows how to stop this connection issue please inform me because i love the mouse otherwise. Im using it on a marble table.

The touchpad is great, and having a wireless mouse on your desktop seems like a good enough idea - until your batteries start dying on you in the middle of doing something at least once a month.

After a few years, mine started losing its connection all the time - even with full battery. I think what happens is the batteries jostle around inside and then it loses power for just a second. Then it loses connection and stops working, and I have to wait a few minutes for the computer to find it again. My mouse loses connection like 10 times a day now. It's all but useless. I'm going to have to go buy a wired mouse, because this is just stupid.

I love Apple products, usually. The Magic Mouse is awful. It eats batteries like crazy. Batteries aren't cheap and it's ridiculous how many are used.

Apple needs to come up with a solution and let's make it in America, not China.

Thank god I got this thing for free--I'll be dipped in dung before I ever pay $69 for it. What can I say? I'm a huge Mac lover, in my eyes they can usually do no wrong, but they missed the mark with this guy. Beautiful to look at, but its technology is flawed. I got this one second-hand after my Mighty finally died. First off, whose idea was it to put the mouse on skis? The little black plastic strips on the bottom are moronic. Using it on a mousepad doesn't work; it gets stuck on the fibers, and I tried it on a brand new one. The mouse makes an irritating scraping, sliding noise when used directly on my desk, which is IKEA white veneer and completely flat and smooth. I've tried it on every type of surface imaginable and it's the same old story: the tracking is whack. I try adjusting its settings but it's stubborn as a mule. The pointer floats around and basically just does whatever it wants, which is usually nothing. I find myself having to pick the mouse up and put it back down to get it to where I want. That's fun. The indistinguishable buttons are lovely--to look at. But I always find myself clicking more towards the middle of the two, which gives me both a menu and selection. Annoying! The swype scrolling is also a nice idea but I find it exhausting to use because it scrolls too fast and jumpy. And on websites such as Google Maps, where scrolling controls the zoom-in/out feature, it's a nightmare. The slightest touch and suddenly you're looking at the map from outer space, WTH...Apple, I love you guys but just stop. You can do better!

A touch pad on a mouse just isn't as good an idea has it sounds. You have to hold the mouse to move it while avoiding touching the surface or it will scroll when you don't want it to. Or when reaching for the mouse, you'll likely use the tips of your fingers to know where it is without looking... oops, you just scrolled. This messes me up most when web browsing has back attached to scrolling--I have lost a lot of comments that way. You can make this mouse work certainly, but why should anyone have to concentrate on making their mouse work? I'm a graphic designer and an avid gamer, so I have well developed fine motor control, but I find this mouse a pain. Especially if you are making the switch to Mac for the first time don't let this sour the experience. The very exellent Mac platform deserves a better mouse.
