    Very Disappointed

    • Written by from Gorham

This is the first Apple product that I really, truly hate. I have been torturing myself using it for nearly a year. Two different operating systems...yes, I am on the latest...and having tried every adjustment suggested in Preferences, it still drives me crazy in both Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. It has cost me hours of frustration and wasted time and I am finally done with it. I will go back to a wired mouse or find a better wireless mouse. One star...it looks and feels great. Shame on you Apple for making such a poor product.

It would be amazing if it worked well.

    • Written by from Sherman Oaks

The idea behind this mouse is great, but the connection isn't good. The scroll feature isn't consistent. I can scroll with my finger over and over and over and the page won't move and then suddenly it's scrolled all the way down.
The pointer control is similarly inconsistent.
    DO NOT BUY!

Connection gets lost all he time

    • Written by from Liverpool

I've had my Mac computer for 2-3 years and have the wireless keyboard and mouse. I love the idea of wireless, but for more than a year it always seems to lose connection. I think it needs new batteries but that doesn't help. Reading reviews for the regular mouse are not so great, so I guess I will have to suffer with this, or just get a new one.

Uni-Left-Right Mouse Button Design = EPIC FAIL

    • Written by from Toronto

If you want constant frustration, than get this mouse.

Otherwise get one that has separate left and right mouse buttons such as a Logitech or Microsoft.

This mouse may be called 'Magic' but it comes no where close to being magical in its design and function.

The uni-button design fails 99% of the time to distinguish between a left and right mouse click and often leaves me frustrated as it would perform a mouse action opposite to what I intended.

Not worth the price and you're better off getting 2-3 mice for the price of this Apple 'Magic' Mouse.

I finally ended up throwing it out and replacing the Apple Magic Mouse with a Logitech one that has separate Left and Right mouse buttons.

Do yourself a favor of not spending the money and experiencing the level of frustration by getting another branded mouse that has a better design and function (separate left-right mouse buttons).

    Lovely when it works

    • Written by from Kansas City

It works. Then it decides not to, becoming disconnected every minute or two. I hate this device. Unreliable. I've tried two and they did not last, and I cannot figure out why it keeps getting disconnected. Solving problems like this one, via online sources, is time consuming and often unsuccessful, so I don't try anymore. I wish Apple still cared and supported their products instead of relying on customers to help each other.

    Finally given up

    • Written by from Wilmington

I've used the Magic Mouse since they first came out. 10 years?...I don't even know. I've gone through 4 just recently; battery dies in a heartbeat, and the battery house stinks so it keeps shutting off. After folding up bits of paper to tighten the batteries in there, and the Bluetooth constantly disconnecting, I've finally said 'forget it'. I WANT another one. I love the design, the ease-of-use, side scrolling, etc. etc. But $69 every 6+ months is plain silly, and apparently I'm just a glutton. The irony? I'm using a Microsoft mouse for my Mac, and it works beautifully, lasts forever, and cost <$20. Wake up, Apple.

    Best mouse I've ever owned

    • Written by from Pullman

As God is my witness, I cannot figure out what the negative reviewers are talking about. The Apple Magic Mouse IS the best mouse I've ever owned -- and it's my first wireless mouse! It tracks perfectly. I can set it up so that if I click the right side of the mouse, it "right-clicks." It scrolls by just rolling my finger over the surface -- no noisy, annoying roller buttons. The technology contained in this little $69 mouse is outstanding. i would buy this mouse 100 times over rather than buy any other mouse I've ever owned once.

    Improved, but not really

    • Written by from Camrose

Glass top is a nice improvement over the mini-ball of the mighty, which gunks up and requires replacement every few months, but this mouse is ergonomically painful and hurts the back of the hand & wrist within minutes of use and chomps through batteries which are full of nasty chemicals. Strange, this company doesn't seem to have the wit or will to figure it out. Expensive landfill matter.

    Bad in every significant way

    • Written by from Redmond

I have the Apple mouse, don't know the product number or SKU but it is wireless, no buttons or side scrollers or anything. Cost like 70 USD, if that's any clue.

The thing is lousy. EATS batteries like it's Shark Week, not for breakfast, merely as appetizer. Secondly, loses connection CONSTANTLY, like every few minutes I need to go into system preferences and try to re-connect, but lately i just give up and switch back to the trackpad (macbook pro). Thirdly, the battery cover is a total train wreck! Impossible to replace back on the unit once you've taken it off (which you need to do every day or two due to the pathetic battery life). It's this little tin plate that's like something made by some stoner kid needing to pass shop class in the final week with at least a C- average or he can't graduate. I mean, THIS is what we're all supposed to wonder and adore as the apogee of 21st century DESIGN and ERGNOMICS and cool efficiency, APPLE COMPUTER CORP?? Total joke.

(By the way, this review system is also crummy, when you submit it says "Some words in your review cannot be published. Please revise your review" But it doesn't say or highlight which words are verboten! I thought this company is the sine qua non of USER INTERFACE DESIGN! Good for a laugh. I do understand though - when you have 70 Billion cash reserves you don't need to worry about this kind of chickenfeed.)

    Connection Problems

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I wanted to love the Magic Mouse, but the connection problems made me want to throw the thing across the room. Some days, it worked beautifully; other days, the mouse lost Bluetooth connection a few times an hour and became very jumpy (the cursor wouldn't move at all and then would suddenly shoot across the screen). The only thing that helped was to open the battery compartment and make sure the batteries were shoved as far in as possible (they came loose every time I raised the mouse off my desk, even slightly). I read lots of posts in forums talking about this issue, and there are MacGyver-type solutions (involving tin foil and folded paper), but I couldn't justify having to do that after what this mouse cost. So, I took it back to the Apple Store and exchanged it for the Magic Trackpad, which has worked flawlessly.

    Best Mouse Ever!

    • Written by from Raleigh

I needed a mouse for my MacBook for a while, but was unsure which one to choose from (whether to stick with an Apple product or go for some other brand). After rave reviews from my friend about the Magic Mouse, I finally decided to buy it. It is AMAZING!! This mouse can do so much more than the trackpad on the MacBook. The bluetooth connected seamlessly and it is much more fluid in movement. Great product!! I only wish it had some kind of case to protect it.

    Good mouse.

    • Written by from Toronto

The mouse is sleek & Cool. Quite responsive. My beefs are: you always get it upside down, cause it is same on both ends. Most kids would seem to have trouble maneuvering it due to Large sizet.. One star is gone for quite expensive cost

Good, but could be better for the price

    • Written by from Mamaroneck

Unlike what other people are saying, this mouse works great for me. I don't have connection issues, the battery life is good, however, my only problem (which is arguably the most important) is how uncomfortable the feel of the mouse is. I'm really depressed, because I do love the mouse and it's features, but it's sharp edges bother my fingers after a while. I'll give it a 3/5 because I've only had it for a week and I'm getting a new mouse.

    Keeps Dying

    • Written by from Port Coquitlam

I have to re-synch this mouse to my computer every few hours. Today, after less than a year, it will not stay in synch for more than a minute. This is the second one I've bought in 18 months. NOT IMPRESSED.

Bought it a year ago, and I am giving up. The mouse keeps disconnecting. I have tried all. Even bought the Apple rechargable batteries, which by the way, one pair of them is already gone after using them just one time. Very disappointed with this product.

I do photoshop work using this mouse. For each photo, I click the mouse many times and very strenuously. It's almost been a year and the mouse has not let me down. It is also very useful to have side scrolling.

    Another quality product from Apple!

    • Written by from ARLINGTON HEIGHTS

..great product from Apple. And to those that are complaining about battery life, please take a close look @ the batteries that are used by Apple. They are the Energizer Lithium Batteries, which last much longer than the traditional Energizer batteries. A bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny with the battery life you get out of them.
