Features make it the best, can't find anything that is as easy to use as the Apple Magic Mouse, on the other hand the design is terrible. Using this mouse for more than 10 minutes and my wrist, finger and hand in general start to hurt. And every time that happens i'll reach for another mouse but the other mouses don't do the gestures that the Magic Mouse does. I really hate this mouse and I really love it, I really hope that Apple makes a more ergonomic version of this mouse soon because my hand is tired of it. With everything that Apple does I don't understand how this product every reached the public, to say the truth, even if you love Apple don't buy this mouse it is not worth the pain that it brings. Just use a off brand for now and wait until Apple decides to update their mice to a more efficient design that doesn't cause pain in the hand.

the fact that you can make it have a 'right click' function is just awesome. It also works on pretty much any surface. Loving it.

Overall, I prefer this magic mouse to both USB and wireless Mighty Mouse, but CAD efficiency was so severely hindered w/o a Third Button for Orbit/Pan that I had to return it. I did enjoy everything else about it though; lower height was easier on wrist, heavier weight gave it a nice responsive motion, and the click, touch scroll,..etc was perfect. I wanted to keep it. But not being able to easily orbit/pan in SketchUp and other CAD apps was annoying.

I just started using this mouse about three weeks ago, I am on the computer most of the day with my job. The only thing I see that I don't like is the edge of the mouse is
sharp. It needs to be smoother. For someone like me that works all day with my hand on the mouse it is a bit annoying. I hope this is changed on the next mouse they create. Otherwise I like the way it functions, so I am giving it 4 stars because of this.

1000 times better than the mighty mouse but still a 20 dollar usb mouse wins all day long in usability and comfort....Apple needs to give a little on design and make a good mouse. It HAS to have a middle mouse wheel and button (not the dumb little ball from mighty mouse ) and split the left and right buttons better. I do not care about side buttons but I need three physical reliable!!! buttons . Next, like a good chair, you should be able to use the mouse all day long without hurting your hand (there is absolutely zero arch support for your hand and its not wide enough). Lastly, do like the sony Playstation controllers (xbox should also do this...) and add a detachable wire to the keyboard and mouse. Personally I will pick wired all day long over wireless. Always on, better precision, I don't have to replace batteries, never have to sync. This would give a wired or wireless option to all mice and keyboards.... simple .... (sorry that this kills your line of rechargeable batteries... well you can still leave the batteries in there I guess....)

They can keep the gesture control but move it down to the belly of the mouse. The left center wheel and right button will not have gesture control but below the buttons in the center it would work like the magic mouse does currently. For browsing web sites it is nice...for anything else like.... games & work... give me my 20 dollar mouse back....

I am so addicted to this mouse. It quickly became an essential part of my computer. This mouse is best for those who use their computer to web surf as Apple really aims the software at that. But it is even useful when browsing around your computer (the two finger swipes work for back and forward through folders) or looking over word/excel (the ability to scroll 180 degrees is very useful here).

As for hand cramping, you just have to hold it right. With this mouse it is best to lightly hold it on the sides with your thumb and second to last finger and let your hand arch naturally from that (don't rest your palm on the mouse) and your hand will be naturally at a good position for it (and you won't notice not having a rest really).

Also, download Magic Prefs. This software fully explores the potential of the magic mouse which sadly the default prefs on OSX really don't give this mouse near enough credit. As well as the obvious gestures that the default prefs don't support but is obvious this mouse could support, the mouse also can sense where you click (it's not just if you click on the right or left side of the mouse which is what I thought). It can also sense up to four fingers clicking on it (so with Magic Prefs you can set it to have an action for clicking with one finger, two fingers, three fingers, or four). It can also sense taps and where the taps are as well as how many fingers are tapping. Magic Prefs takes full advantage of this. Those who are complaining of lack of Expose buttons? Not if you download this software (as well as taking advantage of spaces and zooming amongst various other actions you can set the gestures/taps/clicks to).

The most comfortable and coolest mouse you will find right now and probably for a while. Awesome job Apple. Products like this are what will continue to keep you ahead.

basically it has trouble pairing with bluetooth, not just me, but everyone that I've talked to who just bought the 15" retina macbook is having trouble. apple should fix this issue, because it's not the cheapest mouse :(

Just bought a magic mouse after some hesitation because of some bad reviews. I have used the prior mouse with a small ball in it for 4 years with my iMac, replacing one every year (thankfully under warranty each time) because it eventually gets stuck. So far so good with the magic mouse. I don't find it hard to use at all. It is not jumpy in the programs I tried it on - Excel, Mail, Safari, etc. I noticed the only way to get widgets and multiple windows open now it the F3 and F4 keys, but that's not a big deal. We'll see how long the batteries last. It was a very easy unit to set up.

This mouse is almost the perfect mouse. It is responsive and innovative making the user experience easier and more enjoyable so it is well worth the money to the average person however to a gamer its not. Traditional button based mouses still win out because of side buttons and the ability to click on both sides of the mouse (the top two buttons) and engage a third unique command compared to if you clicked on either side independently.
