Reviews for Apple Magic Mouse

Really. It's a great mouse experience, but every two weeks - new batteries. This is with all the latests updates to the system and my Apple Wireless Keyboard. The keyboard eats a set of batteries in about six weeks.

This mouse is more stable than Mighty Mouse I had -the 360 ball died after 1 month of use- the digital scrolling of this Magic mouse looks to be the solution, however sometimes it randomly stops for 1 second, and it doesn´t have the 2 sides button for expose-dashboard which are very useful if you are designer. I hope next generation of Magic mouse comes with 2 side buttons for expose, if this one is Magic, the next one then will be a Miracle!!

I bought this Magic Mouse on Jan 16 and today Feb 18, I got my first low battery warning. In checking system prefs., I was left at 20 percent reserve.
Only 1 month for batteries ??? I will report again, when it ceases to function.

Question: Do I need to turn the switch off every night in order to save power even though I am on SLEEP every night ???

if you have been using a scroll mouse and are used to having three buttons, this mouse scrolls beautifully but is not three buttons. I bought this in the store and did not realize it was only two buttons, though now I see the website says so. Can you live without the third button? Only maybe, for me.

I purchased two of theses for an IMac and MBP. They work OK, but until you can control the acceleration curve they are more trouble that they are worth. They also eat batteries and the Bluetooth drops out on occasion. The were both replaced with Logitech Marathon using the LCC 3.1 software - much nicer with an acceration multiplier and a real back button instead of a double finger circus act to do "Back". They could have added a center left and right touch area for this.

The laser tracking is much more smooth than the mighty mouse.
But the speed of the tracking seems to be slower and the speed is set at the max.

The profile is too small and creates hand fatigue, being heavier and smaller.

Setting the mouse up needed a software download from apple for the scrolling options to work with Leopard OS. So it did not work out of the box as other apple products do.

The scrolling is not as smooth as with the ball on the mighty mouse. It seems to be centered on the mouse face and is hard to be smooth. There is a delay from when you start scrolling to when the screen responds. The ball was much more accurate.

If the mouse was bigger and the scrolling was more responsive, this would be a great product. If it continues to fatigue my hand, I will be returning it.

Nice upgrade from the original wireless mouse but with all this technology, you would think that the magic mouse would have come with a rechargeable battery and cradle?

There is no doubting this is an amazing device technology-wise. It functions beautifully.

BUT! Did midgets design it? I get cramps using it it's so small. It's almost as if Apple has never heard of ergonomics. They have gone all out for style without any thought to usability, ie. form over function.

Come'on Apple.

I love my Magic mouse, but it doesn't "fit into my hand" like the Mighty mouse or any other mouse around.... The Magic Mouse is too flat.... I hope to see that Apple will change that. Also the Magic Mouse dosen't seem to keep a good connection with my new iMac.

I've had this mouse for just over a month now, and I do enjoy it. Its very slim clean, and make other mice feel bulky and large. although it does take a bit of getting use to the thin design...

The only things I don't like about it is the no pinch buttons, I know alot of people complain about no 3 button but I miss the pinch feature more. And also I'm not really impressed with the battery life - I've read reviews about people saying that it will last about 3 months on one set of batteries this has not been my case. I had to change my set of batteries 1 month to the day - and I think of myself to be an average user maybe about 3-4 hours a day. I was really hoping/looking forward to a set lasting closer to 2 months.
