The scroll button broke on my old mouse, So I picked up the Magic mouse. I was pretty excited. At first I loved it, then I noticed there was no middle button. With the programs I use, the middle button is as common as a left click. At that point I knew I would have to return it, but I continued to use it through out the day. More and more, I was disappointed by its performance. At times, I would have to click three or four times for it to register. other times, it would only register a left click and not the right click. I'm sure this mouse is perfect for surfing the web and reading emails, but for a professional, it's nothing, but frustrating.

Great design, nice to put on the desk to impress people. Mine worked out of the box as advertised and did a good job browsing the net. But... completely unusable in any serious work like MS Word, iWork Pages etc, let alone Indesign or Illustrator. The problem is the unwanted scrolling that occurs at the slightest touch and throws you pages/chapters/ages away from where you need to be. A gadget for people that earn their money elsewhere than working on an computer. Footballers, hairdressers...

Goes through the batteries, plus the touch surface i always getting touchy when you don't want it to respond, such as sitting your hand back on it. I would love a normal scroll wheel, but that is not apple's thing. I went back to my Logitech since I am on the computer for hours and hours every day. Right Click works every time now! ;-)

The wireless Apple mouse looks great next to my computer; it is sleek and responsive and connects easily. However the flat design provides no support for my wrist. I have had my mac for about 5 months now, and whenever I would use the wireless mouse for longer than an hour at a time, my wrist would feel week and tired. After spending a week on the computer doing web design work (20 hours that week) my carpel nerve was in real paint. My wrist was weak and achey and making popping noises. I had to wear a wrist brace to even think of using the computer after that. And my wrist took several weeks to heal after that stress. I replaced my mouse immediately after that. I will never use the wireless mouse again because there is just no support.

Solid mouse nice design and features but I think leading logitech mice are much more effective and functional

Love the mouse. Great design/product. MINUS missing features from the Mighty Mouse. How would you make a mouse that can't access Expose and Right Clicking at the same time? Apple fix this problem now!!!!!!!

I got the magic mouse with my new imac and decided to give it a try. I found it takes way too much movement to move the mouse from side to side and the bottom tray that covers the battery compartment kept falling off. Just for fun, I tried this in Starcraft 2 and it was abysmal. This mouse might be ok if all you do is light surfing/email, but for my needs I found it lacking.

As usual with apple this shiny minimal mouse looks great. After the mighty mouse fiasco I thought this would be the definitive mouse but I was wrong.

I bought it as a present to my partner. She didn't like it so I took it for me and experienced myself the flaws.

First it's too heavy after inserting the batteries. Why did apple choose AA instead of AAA?

Second it's noisy. Every click you do can be heard even in the other room...

Third, Apple's acceleration curves are not meant for heavy mouse using. The tracking speed is not enough to me (that can be solved with a third party software), but then when you go into slow mode the cursor moves too slow. That makes it useless for anything other than browsing. For example any activity which needs fast precision such as design, or music production.

Fourth, the touch zone can't be configured by default. You need to download a third party software to make the scrolling zone smaller, so you can rest your fingers over the mouse without scrolling accidentally.

Fifth, my partner complained from pain in her hand after using the mouse for a few hours. It didn't happen to me though.

Apart from that, the mouse is very well built and beautifully designed.

I already adjusted the speed to the maximum, but on my 27" iMac it's still slow! Everything else works just fine. I would rate it 5 stars, but the slow speed made me buy a logitech mouse to use on my mac.

Have had the Magic Mouse for 8 months, it worked great until recently. The curser freezes on the monitor and "Connection Lost" appears. Changed batteries, over and over, switched on & off, stood on my head, nothing worked. Then suddenly, connection resumes intermittently without any visible reason. This became very frequent and frustrating. However, it worked beautifully for a while, love the sleek, wireless design and swiping and scrolling action. But the darn thing needs to work!! I read several reviews of others with this problem. Apple, please work out the bugs on this cool device!
