Nice mouse but I found the profile too low, too flat. As a graphic artist I use my mouse 99% of the day, after 2 hours it was so uncomfortable I had to switch back to my Logitech.

I'm very loyal Apple user for many years. They never stopped to amaze me with ingenious new products. I hoped that it would be the case with Magic mouse... Boy how wrong was I!!!
If You ever need middle button on mouse, you would never want this THING near!!!

After less than a year, I just launched mine across the office and put the pieces in the trash. It felt very good.

The connection was unreliable, constantly dropping off. It had an annoying tendency to just not track well: sometimes only would track up and down, and sometimes only left and right.

I have a very old Apple USB mouse that I have been using flawlessly.

I liked the tap and swipe features of the Magic Mouse. They worked well... when it would stay connected. Perhaps I had a bad mouse but for $70, I think I'll wait before testing that assumption.

So I have a new imac about a year old.... Now magic mouse won't work. Took it to work it worked fine brought it home the clock just spins.... Don't work! Slam it into a million peaces... I feel better. At least I have my USB. Also huge amont of batteries and recharges...Mac user since 85! Will not buy another one! Stick with USB or trackpad

At first this mouse is great because of the gestures. However you immediately recognize how non ergonomic this mouse really is. After extended use your hand and wrist will start to experience pain. My definition of extended is anything over 30 minutes to an hour. I've never experienced this pain from any other input device I've ever used on any system. Be warned!

This is the worst mouse yet. I love everything about Apple products except the mouse. I have been using a PC mouse for the last 4 years I have had my Mac...the Mac mouse sits in a box. I thought they had finally gotten it right, but I was wrong! This "mouse" is slow and unresponsive as they have always been!

Let me get one thing out of the way, this is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOUSE I have even put my hands on. Period. The two-finger swipe, flick to scroll, touch-sensitive surface are all magical, and works as advertised.

But . . .

After a week of using this mouse, my wrist really started to cramp up, and that's partly to the really low-profile. It has gotten really uncomfortable to use. I have small hands (about 7 inches from the wrist to the tip of my middle finger), so if youre hands are big, forget about it. I found myself resting my hand more on my desk than on the surface of the mouse.

Apple released the hockey-puck mouse back in 1998, and 11 years later, I thought they finally got it right with the Magic Mouse. Boy was I wrong. I'm a huge fan of everything Apple, but sometimes, they favor form over function. I sold my Logitech MX Revolution the day I got the Magic Mouse, but I have no choice but to buy another MX.

Unless one wishes to use the iMac like an iPad, this mouse is quite a disappointment. Inadvertent slight lateral movements of the finger result in the page one is working on being swiped to the right out of sight; then, when one learns how to get the page back into view, he finds that all the work he has done on the page has disappeared. One learns that the lateral swipe losses can be prevented by going to the mouse icon under System Preferences and disabling the lateral swipe function. Then he is left with a page that is rather loosely contained within a box that's a little bit larger than the page itself within which the page wiggles and jiggles and bounces around so that it is rather difficult to do things like put a dot in a circle that's on the page because the page moves erratically in response to slight inadvertent movements of fingers on the mouse shell. I am now trying to find a replacement mouse as my original mouse (the Mighty Mouse) lost ability to scroll up and down pages. I got the Magic Mouse because it is the only mouse now available that is made by Apple, which means I must go through a process of finding a Logitech mouse that works satisfactorily ― more about that under Logitech options.

The magic mouse is quite wonderful when the battery is not dead. This would be the best mouse on the market if I didn't have to buy batteries (that are bad for the environment) over and over again, or purchase separate rechargeable batteries and charger.

The battery life is ~1 month when used 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (I also turned off the mouse every evening). This is not very good for a professional product. Thats 24 batteries used per year. Think of that per magic mouse user, that is a lot of batteries that Apple could have prevented from going to the land fill (yes, I recycle batteries, but how many people actually do).

Why Apple did not just install a rechargeable battery with an optional cord (with a mini USB cord similar to PS3 controller plug) is beyond me. Probably because it would disrupt their aesthetic.

For all of Apple's great integration and keeping everything simple and Apple, this is a major fail.

Fix the mouse Apple, even if it cost $20 more per mouse, thats $20 in batteries I do not have to buy.

Apple did a great job at developing this mouse in terms of function, however, the ergonomics are terrible. Using the mouse for longer than 20 minutes is painful.
