It seams to loose a connection a lot!

    • Written by from Basalt

It seams that it is very easy for the mouse to loose its connection. This drives me crazy. I have to wait several seconds to recover and reconnect! Not that happy with it.

    Beware long hours

    • Written by from Rogersville

Love the functions. But, if it is used many hours per day beware of repetitive stress in hand. Ergonomics of product is terrible. Had to discontinue use due to severe hand pain after 3 weeks of use.

    Did not Last!

    • Written by from Newfane

I loved the new Magic Mouse, and it seemed much better than the Mighty Mouse. problem is, just recently when changing the batteries the left click does not work anymore. The scroll and the right click work, but now left click, unless I keep clicking it. Now I am back using my Mighty Mouse and use the Magic Mouse to scroll. The thing is, it is after the one year warranty, which stinks since I would not have it that long. I would have given 5 stars if it still worked properly, but it would seem these mouses do not last that long. :(

I have medium/large man hands. I have been using for about 1 year. The mouse is too low profiled proving to be very uncorfortable over the course of an 8 hour day. I see that this is a common problem so I am hoping it is addressed with the design of the next generation mouse.

Also, the tracks on the bottom of the mouse seem to get gunked up causing it to drag.

I could overlook the rate at which it consumes batteries if these other things were not a problem.

Really nice...unless you are working on Word, Powerpoint or Excel

    • Written by from 秦野市

I really loved my magic mouse first time I got it. It was an amazing piece of technology.... until I started to use it on microsoft Office. Its absolutely difficult to use it in powerpoint when you making slides, because it starts behaving erratically. It starts jumping from one slide to another erratically...also does the same in word and Excel. Extremely difficult to control. I turned off the inertia option in the mouse preferences, hoping it would solve the problem...but no! The same problem happens with Adobe photoshop too. I behaves well with web browser. I wanted to give this mouse 5 stars first....but now maybe just 2 or even 1. Sad...specially since its from apple. Disappointed.

    Overly sensitive

    • Written by from Smyrna

I wanted to love this device so much but in the end I replaced it with the trackpad. My main complaints are over the sensitivity. For instance when using maps it would zoom in way too much are out too far when barely moving my fingers, or simply trying to drag and drop. Often times I would be moving the mouse over the map and it would zoom.

Another example is I could not be using the mouse and when I go to rest my hand from using the keyboard I would accidentally touch the side, moving the cursor to another window and it would change focus.

As great as an idea as this was the execution just did not pan out. I recommend getting the trackpad instead.

    Not great

    • Written by from Eugene

The magic mouse worked great until I upgraded my iMac to Lion. Now it keeps locking up, losing connection, freezes - went back to a wired mouse. Spent numerous hours trying various fixes but still the same issues. I would not recommend purchasing the Magic Mouse unti Apple finds a fix to this problem.

Not great in windows on my Macbook Air

    • Written by from Laval

Slow to resume... Need to click the left button. Right button click need to pressed too far on the right. The scrolling is not as precise as it is with a scroll wheel. The top shinny part is extremmely easy to scratch. Just left it in my bag for a day and tons of scratch already. I much prefered my old mouse.

Battery life is miserable (1 set of Duracell per month)

    • Written by from Saint-Bruno

I'm using this mouse at work (mon-fri, typically 38h/week).
I like the gesture capabilities and design.
However, the battery life is really poor!
Since I have it (a little more than 3 months), I had to change the batteries 3 times.
How come is the battery life so short??
I'm using a Logitech mouse on my PC and have a battery life of at least 6 months!

Please Apple, do something regarding battery/energy stuffs. I though the iPhone 4S was the only device with battery life issues.... :(

I like using the magic mouse, but it annoys me how the battery cover always comes off. I have to use tape to keep it in place, but it is otherwise okay.

previous mouse design would tell you when battery life is low(indicator at top of screen shows). this one just stops-no warning. this one's metal strip/bottom will fall off fairly easy. its a flimsy mouse...poorly designed

Magic Mouse Battery Life Disappeared overnight like MAGIC

    • Written by from Goodna

I'm pretty happy with the Apple Magic Mouse (all the function) swiping which is cool to have. But for something that cost $75AUD retail would it be good to have longer battery life? Don't you think? Battery Life Disappeared just like the name MAGIC.

    Less Than Magic

    • Written by from Hopewell Junction

Ok, so its pretty to look at, very minimalist and the scrolling is nice. However, I have had the magic mouse for about 2 months now (it came with my new imac) and I have now returned to the $10 case logic mouse I was using prior due to the following issues/ annoyances.
-Randomly pages back to the last screen you were on when you return your hand to the mouse after typing or just while browsing. Like after I type this review and go to click preview the magic mouse interprets my hand returning to the mouse as a page back command. Very frustrating.
-Heavy to move around= hand strain.
-Metal bottom. If so much as a grain of sand gets under the mouse's metal bottom it grates against the mousepad like "nails on chalkboard". Eeeek!
-Eats through batteries, already had to change them..after 2 mos come on.

So sad and definitely not what I was expecting from apple or a $70 mouse.

love it except when it doesn't work!!!

    • Written by from new york

Left click stops working randomly for long periods of time, comes back when it feels like it. Tried the "trick" of sliding the power button ever so slightly down towards "off" but that stopped working. It is not "found" by bluetooth even when it's working (odd!), and changing the settings under "mouse" doesn't help. (Switching left-click to right click, for example, only makes the left-click not work as a right-click, so then you have two clicks not working.) I love this mouse except when it stops working!!! I've only had it since august (less than three months). Driving me nuts. And I haven't even upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard yet. Cannot recommend it as I see it's very buggy all over the internet forums. Ironically, it's working now, as I click "submit." Poor mouse.

    Get the trackpad instead

    • Written by from Whitesboro

I have a Magic Mouse that I use at work and a Magic Trackpad that I use at home. The Magic Trackpad is far superior to the Magic Mouse. Gestures are second nature on the trackpad which makes the overall experience of using OSX Lion far more enjoyable. The Magic Mouse is a great mouse, but every day I wish I had a Magic Trackpad at work.

power consumption is very large .....

    • Written by from Hillsborough

I've used this mice for over 6 months. The shape and function is better than previous version, but the power consumption is very bad. I need to change twice per month. I hope Apple can improve this point in the next version???

I love the idea of this mouse but for me it was physically painful to use. The mouse is very small and flat and is the opposite of ergonomic for my hands.

Using any of the gestures requied me to curl my fingers under into a sort of claw which after two weeks lead to knots and pain in my shoulder/trapezius and bestowed the name "torture mouse" upon this product.

My advice - !!!Try one for several days of normal work routines before buying!!!
In the end I bought the magic trackpad which is much more comfortable for me.

    Ok while it lasted...

    • Written by from Trussville

When I bought my iMac and pulled the magic mouse out I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Until time passed, more and more problems arose.

First off, it doesn't let you right-click, second, the bottom of the mouse is rough and it scrapes both the table and underneath the mouse.

One day it just stopped working all-together. Just stopped. So i had enough, I bought a white Microsoft wireless mouse and it works just as well (maybe even better)
