    To small!

    • Written by from Tønsberg

The mouse functions are just great, but it's too small for my hand. I'm a man 186 cm/6,1 foot tall, with what I guess is normal big hands for my height.

I have to pinch my hand to hold the small thing, and pressing the thumb and the little finger together like only makes my hand hurt, and moving back to the good old Logitech mouse is a real relief.

This is a mouse sized for women and kids, not for men. I wonder how many Apple employees who either use a Logitech, or choose to suffer with their undersized apple-mouse.

    battery life

    • Written by from nashville

Amazing design. It has a sleek feel to it, as well as many other apple products. My problem was that I had to constantly change batteries. Whether they were rechargeable or regular batteries, the mouse connection would die in less than 2 months. Somewhat disappointed, but still a great improvement compared to older versions.

    Shoddy battery casing

    • Written by from Three Forks

The mouse work well except when the batteries become lose in the battery casing. Then the mouse pointer stalls or becomes erratic. Apple needs to fix this problem.

    Inconsistant

    • Written by from Emporia

When it works it's too awesome. I love the touch sensitive scrolling. However, it has a tendency to loose connection. According to tech support wi-fi networks, microwaves and cordless phones can interfere with the signal. Well I live in the apartment, and my air port card can detect six different networks. Obviously I have a lot of stray signals I can do nothing about. I really wish they had a wired version of it, That I would buy.

    almost amazing

    • Written by from Brooklyn

this mouse defiantly goes leaps and bounds beyond the other mice that mac has came out with ( the one with the little ball in the middle–not great). my only problem is that i have to change the battery so much. i think this mouse would be perfect is there was a rechargeable hub or came with a usb option.

    Not a big fan

    • Written by from Acworth

I love the finger scrolling and don't miss the typical wheel. However, the mouse is to flat. Also, the scrolling is great but moving the mouse where you want on the screen is slow even with the motion set at high compared to aftermarket mouses.

I just have a hard time getting used to it because you have to pick the mouse up and then move some more because it just doesn't move fast enough unless you jerk it.

    It needs to be reconfigured.

Works great... For a little bit.

    • Written by from Las Vegas

I bought a magic mouse to use for my MacBook pro since I hate using the trackpad. It hasn't even been a year and a half that I bought the magic mouse and it no longer works. It would connect then disconnect a few seconds later.I took it to Apple to see if they can repair it for me... And unfortunately my warranty already expired. This is a great product but I rated it a 3 due to it not lasting long as it should.

I used to love the Magic Mouse...

    • Written by from Mammoth Lakes

When I had Snow Leopard OS I loved my Magic Mouse...it worked just fine. But then I upgraded to Lion...and whenever I was on a website, it would occasionally jump from side to side...sometimes disappearing. I went back to to my original corded mouse and what do you know...the jumping and disappearing stopped! I much prefer the simplicity of the Magic Mouse and the scrolling worked great with Snow Leopard...but I just can't tolerate the jumping around and skittishness of sites while using Magic Mouse...I'm ordering a new corded mouse because the scrolling isn't working properly on my old one...

    Limited connections

    • Written by from Slocan

When I first started using this mouse I was very happy with its adaptability to my every need for scrolling down the page. But as time went on my mouse began to be very erratic and lose the connection frequently and could not recover until I practically was ready to smash it and then I could not get the aluminum back cover to stay on which was really annoying while not being able to have the proper connection when it is vital for me to do anything online with all of its features that are supposed to be its assets. I hope to find a better replacement for this mouse.

    The mouse is too touchy

    • Written by from Lexington

I have quit using this mouse due to the zooms that occur when I am in Second Life.
I disabled as much as I could through the mouse settings, but it seemed like any little touch and I would be zoomed right out of the sim. I am not using the regular apple mouse either since the scroll ball on all of mine have failed. So I am now using a mouse designed for a PC with a non-touch scroll wheel.

    Don't like it

    • Written by from Concord

I like the idea of this mouse, but after several months I still can't get used to it. I've used various mice, track balls, and track pads for over 20 years, so I thought I would adapt, but just can't. I will be going to the store to pick up something else. I make too many errors with this one and it's frustrating to use.

    Cool, could be better...

    • Written by from Skopje

I've used this mouse for about two years now, and must say it's OK, but could be better.

The "pro" part is: design (looks cool), connectivity via bluetooth (never had problems with that, though I sometimes had to restart my Mac so it could "see" the mouse), and scrolling (though there's some about this in the "con" part as well).

The "con" part: eats batteries - about 6 per month (when working/designing everyday), scrolling is nice (but for the price - should be more precise), price is high, and it sometimes confuses right/left clicks.

All in all, I've gotten used to it, and I work with it everyday, but improvements need to be made to meet the price vs value requirements.

    Tape cheese

    • Written by from Snohomish

The apple $49 mouse is better because it doesn't use blue tooth and doesn't require a battery. But it one fails after about six months requiring the routine cleaning of its mouse ball. After following a youtube video, I broke the mouse and needed a new one.

This one is very nice but requires batteries, communicates over blue tooth, and comes out of its nice jewel case with difficulty, having been taped into place with tape that leaves cheese stuck on its underbelly. I haven't been able to clean off the cheese, which has now accumulated gunk and inhibits its operation.

    Great

    • Written by from JOHNSTONE

I received this mouse a long time ago as a gift and never actually used it until last month as preferred the trackpad. When a use the MBP in closed shell mode, the magic mouse is a great alternative although it doesn't track well on my table, i have to place it on a magazine or fabric for it to track properly.

Love the mouse but eats batteries

    • Written by from Cottage Grove

I love this mouse, but it eats batteries! Since my old iMac was 11 years old, Black Friday was the perfect time to purchase a new iMac. In the 3 months since then, I have had to replace the batteries in the mouse twice. Even tried using the wired mouse from my old computer but I like the Magic Mouse so much better. Up until this point I have not been turning the mouse off because it takes about 3 minutes for the bluetooth to reconnect. Apple -- I would think your engineers could come up with an automatic turnoff for this mouse so it would not eat batteries! Either that or come up with a wired version.

Good product, scrolling feature still not there yet

    • Written by from Dexter

Overall, this mouse has great innovative features such as the gestures that help you navigate through different documents. However the scrolling is not particularly accurate. Try zooming in or out on an Adobe Acrobat document by pressing the alt key and the results are deplorable. But in general I am happy using it, I just wished the scrolling issue is fixed on a future software update.

    awesome & frustrating

    • Written by from New Salisbury

Love how you can do all the gestures on this mouse, makes work much easier, that is when it works. this think is frustrating at times. sometimes it will connect, sometimes it won't. sometimes it takes just a few seconds, sometimes it takes minutes.......blue tooth leaves much to be desired sometimes.

    Good and Bad

    • Written by from Houston

The mouse feels great in my hand (as others have said). I'm giving it three stars because it doesn't connect very well in Mac OS. It connects perfectly in Windows under bootcamp. I have my macbook closed and connected to an external monitor and keyboard, and I often have to open it up, use the touchpad, and manually connect it. I've replaced batteries, but I still have problems.

The scrolling features are nice, but they sometimes get in the way. For example, if you have a window or spreadsheet that scrolls both down and right, you might get both motions if you only intended to scroll down.

Overall it's a decent mouse, but I've had better luck with my logitech mouse under Mac OS.
