I don't know about this one...

    • Written by from San Antonio

This mouse is unpredictable at times...somethings it does double click actions when I'm just wanting a single click. At other times I'm listening to music/videos and all of a sudden it sends the volume control full blast! Almost blew my ears off and that's detrimental and could damage my hearing. Nope...the surface is too sensitive and of course it doesn't help when you have your hands hovering over it most of the time. I do like the design and how it glides without a mousepad. But that's really it.

Don't ever buy this product if you use Adobe software

    • Written by from Caldwell

This mouse will drive you absolutely bonkers if you use InDesign or some other Adobe products. It's like trying to navigate a document while in a plane that is experiencing ongoing turbulence. After 4 years neither Adobe or Apple has corrected the issue.

    I expected better

    • Written by from Revere

I like the features of this mouse - the touch controls are clever. But the highest speed setting is still not enough for a 27" iMac. Also, the tracking is not fluid. Perhaps it would be better on a perfect surface, but I don't have a perfect surface. Also, the optical sensor that reads the movement is located very near the front of the mouse. I just couldn't really adapt to this after using so many mice with the sensor near the center - it really effects how you must move your hand around.

After about 10 days of use, I retrieved the cheapo Dell mouse from the PC that the iMac replaced. It works beautifully!

    Heavy!

    • Written by from Astoria

It is very heavy and causes you get serious carpal tunnel, it moves very very slow even on the fastest setting and you have to run your poor hand all over the table... Very disappointed, expected much better from Apple!

No problems at all. A great device.

    • Written by from Pittsford

I've used it for 6 months, since I got my iMac at work. It works great, easy to do fine detail work in PhotoShop and Illustrator. I use it every day and the batteries last 2 months. The secret to that is to buy name brand batteries. The off-brands last a week.

    Counter-Productive with a Superior Product

    • Written by from Glendale

As a Designer I use Adobe software throughout my work day. I find that the quality of the magic mouse is far superior than any other. My complaint lies with the trackpad multi-touch capability. Within Adobe software, as you graze your finger across the mouse it flings your workspace across the screen. I find that I am constantly having to reposition my work. I rely far too heavily on cmd+0 to re-center my work. Not to mention, as I attempt to duplicate objects or text boxes the screen zooms at random (by holding alt to select and drag – my finger changes position on the mouse). I refuse to purchase another Mighty Mouse as I have already gone through three of them, due to the trackball no longer working. This magic mouse has the capability to be the best, however, it causes frustrations at a level not previously experienced. What I mentioned above are only a couple issues related to using the mouse in a production environment.

    Amazing!!

    • Written by from Star

This thing's battery lasts for months! and I use it un a daily basis on my macbook pro, also, it is quite comfortable despite the other reviews that indicate the opposite, you just need to know how to hold the mouse.

Would rather have a wired mouse

    • Written by from Huntington Beach

Mouse came with new iMac. I think the battery life stinks. Also the sensitivity is bad, it seems that if there is just a bit of dirt or dust on the surface it doesn't perform as it should. The wife hates the scroll and won't even use her fingers on it because it's too sensitive for her. Basically a failure in my opinion.

    Intuitive mouse

    • Written by from Milford

I bought this mouse 3.5 years ago with my iMac and haven't had any complaints since. the gestures work as advertised, and are quite intuitive for first time users. I can breeze through multiple web pages/applications/screens with this mouse. There has been no technical difficulties, the mouse still works like the first day I bought it

2 excellent years of use, battery life not that bad - use the off switch!

    • Written by from Lafayette

I've had my magic mouse for years, and now that it has gone missing I'm buying another.

I've had no bluetooth connectivity problems at all. If I switch the mouse off when I've finished work my battery changeout time is rather good. Periods when I do not switch off the mouse lead to battery changeout of every 4 or 5 weeks.

The Magic Mouse is Truly Magical!!!!

    • Written by from Copiague

The fact that it loses its blue tooth connection EVERY 10 seconds to maybe a minute, is magic. Just to get to this spot in the review took 20 minutes! I am disabled so to return it would have been a hassle. When I first got the not so magic mouse, I came here looking for answers and at one point thought I did find an answer. I followed the directions and it did work better…for one day. Now it has gotten so bad that I was forced to buy a different mouse, which I did and am waiting for the delivery. If I could have given a rating of no stars, I would have. So save your money and the aggravation and get yourself a different Mac compatible mouse! BTW, I know 2 people who threw theirs out!

    Pretty bad

    • Written by

This mouse is terrible for gaming you cannot press both buttons at the same time which is essential for some games also the left button is kind of hard to find other than that it is nice not to have to switch between screens with the track pad

Great start to what could be my favorite mouse

    • Written by from Vancouver

First off I see a lot of reviews about how bad it tracks. That is the one thing it does superior to any mouse I've ever used. The trick for me was to throw away the mouse pad and just use it directly on my desk. Then it is very precise, fluid and responsive. The vertical scrolling is very smooth and linear. First bad thing is battery life. I wanted to say more but I'm tired of seeing the red message saying some of my words cannot be published. I've edited until I'm blue in the face and used two programs to make sure I'm under 300 words. A little more feedback on what words or a word counter would be helpful.

    Magical yes, but frustratingly inconsistent

    • Written by from Quincy

It's an amazing mouse, when it works OK, which is 95% of the time. But when you run out of battery power (and if you don't have extra AAs around), or when the Bluetooth connection fails for some reason or just takes a few moments to be recognized, you remember how very, VERY essential a mouse is to doing anything on your computer, and it leaves you feeling powerless and absolutely infuriated.

I came online looking for a corded version (because honestly, a 12-inch cord is not all that intrusive, Apple), and they don't even make one. The touch trackpad has ruined me for all other mice; I mean, you just can't go back. Those wheely scrolls on PC mice are a joke (and of course the tiny scrolly ball that the old mighty mouse had would always jam or break on me after a few months, so that's no better). But I can't take the inconsistency anymore.

    works great in 10.5.8 leopard

    • Written by from Toronto

I downloaded software and connected without problems. Momentum scrolling is possible by using terminal application. just search for it. Works really good on my old powerbook g4, I like the momentum scrolling. Would have given it a 5 but software doesnt include the option for momentum scrolling.

    Garbage

    • Written by from Schenectady

Listen to the other reviews. Try working with a speadsheet and have the thing zoom your sheet 100 columns to the right out of the blue.

I was in the Albany, NY store a few days ago. They have 8-9 iMacs and a few minis. It used to be that only 2 or 3 had the trackpad and the rest were the "magic" mouse. Now, there is only ONE iMac with the magic mouse. I wonder why that is?

Maybe I'm "holding it wrong". This mouse should be recalled. I want it swapped for a wired mouse.

I didn't want to like it!

    • Written by from Browns Mills

I really didn't want to like it because of the price and I thought the trackpad on my new MacBook Air would be sufficient. But after a week of use I love this mouse. It is ergonomically superior to other mice I have used and it is really responsive. The built in touch features mimic the trackpad functions and it is super convenient. Besides the price it really is a great product.
