I just installed it and it works great!! I love this upgrade from the original mouse that came with my Mac. No need for a scrolly ball! (since my old one stopped scrolling) this is perfect!!! I love it! Now I'm ready for my wireless solar keyboard and i'm all set!!

    Less than I expected

Pleasing look and feel, and good idea, and slick design as most of Apple hardware. The main complaint I had is short battery life. I use this mouse at work for development and had to replace batteries almost every two weeks.
The bottom line, if you are for look, it is a good mouse. If you need to work and heavy use, for that price, there are a few equally good if not better options with less hassle, longer battery life, lighter, etc... Do research and try out a few for your particular use before you pay for this.

    Very Smooth

I have had NONE of the problems others have complained about. Bought my macbook pro and magic mouse about 3 weeks ago. Have used both a lot and I find that they work perfectly together. There are mouses that require additional set-up after installing and some of the non apple mouses will not allow me to use all of their functions as my computer is so new they havnt kept up. I have been computing with a mouse for 18 years and this magic mouse is by far the smoothest operating, sleekest looking and easy to use out out of the box as I have ever owned or used. Cannot speak to battery life yet but in 3 weeks of heavy use the battery is still testing as strong! $70 is a lot for a mouse but i don't regret spending the money 1 bit! Greatn mouse!

    Don't by the Magic Mouse

Save the money and buy a good USB mouse. Just look on the forums and you will see this is a poorly designed mouse with many flaws. A mouse is one of those basic devices that must have complete durability and reliability. This mouse has none of them.

I'm surprise the Apple keeps peddling this "mouse trap."

    Nice, but difficult.

The Magic Mouse is a good mouse, that's obvious. It's just really, really difficult to get used to. Even after setting it to detect right clicks without the key held down, it was still very annoying to use. It's no good for gaming, if any function needs the right click, because most of the time it clicks left instead.

It's a good mouse, but it could be a great mouse.

It seams that it is very easy for the mouse to loose its connection. This drives me crazy. I have to wait several seconds to recover and reconnect! Not that happy with it.

Terrible battery life and erratic, unpredictable mouse movements.

Battery life is about 2 weeks normal usage on mine. The page keeps moving side to side without warning, most of the time losing the page altogether. Very frustrating, it does this if I just nudge the mouse by mistake, sometimes without touching it at all! And if I am on the internet this is a unacceptable, sometimes losing my page and a site altogether!!!. My friends have the same problem. I do not remember this being this bad on my old Mighty Mouse which just quit after 2 years. Maybe this is worsened by Lion? I had hoped the battery thing would be fixed, but it hasn't. This is not a mouse you want to buy nor is the wireless keyboard I threw away. Blue Tooth has problems at Apple! Is this static electricity?

OUTSTANDING Mouse... Best seen to date!

The Apple Magic Mouse is an outstanding product. Batteries last a LONG time if you use Energizer lithium batteries. Even regular alkaline batteries last quite well. I have found the Magic Mouse to be exceptionally ergonomic and very comfortable to use.

I can't understand the negative reviews about people complaining it's "heavy". That's nonsense. I like the fact that Apple used aluminum in it's design to give it some heft and a feeling of being a quality product, which it certainly is.

The only thing I would like to see is a software update which would allow its scrolling sensitivity to be fine tuned (reduced sensitivity) for use in programs like Word and Excel. That however is NOT a hardware issue, just a software enhancement which would really take it to the next level.

All in all I really love the Magic Mouse for use with my MacBook Pro. One other thing Apple might consider, offering a slightly smaller version in black & aluminum to compliment their MBPs and MBAs.

    1. You have SWEATY palms (hours of work will make ur hands slightly sweaty that u will hate to use the scroll feature!)

    2. Very sensitive, like ur skating bare foot on ice! (moves u to another page with the slightest accidental touch)

    3. Its bottom skates ONLY move on smooth SOLID surfaces. (i sometimes use my mouse on the couch..or anywhere i am sitting)

    4. Heavy!

    5. Painful for MS Office users.

I was so surprised to see some folks giving this little fellow so few stars that I had to come to its defense. This is my very first review of any apple product any where, and i own several MacBooks, mac mini, iMac, iPhone, and waiting for iPad3. This mouse was love at first touch. I use it at least 6 to 8 hours a day at work, every day. I loved it so much that i purchased another one for home use with my mac mini. I recommend this mouse to everyone. Batteries last me for at least 2 months or so, and i dont bother turning it off at night, so i have no idea how is it that some say they changed batteries every week or so. Give it some time to figure out all it is capable of doing and you will love it.

Really Apple still amazes us for their revolutionized product the accuracy of the pointer and the click is gorgeous but this mouse is difficult to use because i found it so flat i hope Apple will issue a mouse we can hold!!

    Annoying

There are times I really like it, it scrolls easily throughout most Word documents. If you remember to turn it off each night, the batteries will probably last longer for you--I always forget. It is just AWFUL in Excel (I am using Office 2011) as well as in two of our in-house database programs. The slightest touch, the lightest breath, and it flies through these software packages and I have to scroll back to where I was only to have it jump forward again immediately. It won't sit long inside a cell--it just doesn't like Excel. I have set it to slow down as much as I can, and this hasn't helped. It's like driving on black ice. Given my enthusiasm when I took it out of the box, I now have to say I hate it.

Love the functions. But, if it is used many hours per day beware of repetitive stress in hand. Ergonomics of product is terrible. Had to discontinue use due to severe hand pain after 3 weeks of use.
