Don't Underestimate the Value of This Battery!

    • Written by from Guelph

This battery was rated for 500cycles, but instead decided to give me 1437 before going to that great big battery field up in the sky. I didn't even practice the "good battery care techniques" that I've only now learned exist.

As far as I'm concerned, that's great value.

    4 years and working great

    • Written by from Middleton

As I was about to purchase a new battery, and after reading the reviews, I realized how lucky I am. I have been using my 2008 Late Aluminum MacBook unplugged for nearly 2 hours now, and I am at 70%, with 3 hours remaining. I noticed the review that suggested unplugging when fully charged. Although there were times I would leave it plugged in for a day or two, generally, it was left unplugged, so this may well be helpful after all. The price of the battery is rather steep, so I think I might just wait a little longer to order a second batter, just to have one on hand. I realize now that I confused the charge in this MacBook to the one in my IPad. Hey...I'm old, it happens.

    Battery Life Decent/Cost is silly

    • Written by from Keuka Park

I am about to replace the battery on my 13" Macbook after 1390 cycles, I guess that is pretty decent from what I read. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the cost.

    Rechargeable Battery

    • Written by

I brought the Macbook 13' with this battery. The Battery was working very bad after less than one year. Now it does not work at all at 270 cycles, I wish I was more persistent in my complaints, while under the warranty.

    Good At First

    • Written by from Poughkeepsie

This battery came with my laptop that I bought two years ago. Now it's not lasting so long - only several hours. Over time it'll probably last even less time. But it's the only choice you've got if you have a 13 or 14 inch unibody MacBook Pro.

Poor Battery , Poor Charger , Maybe consider a different brand not the same

    • Written by from WILLOW STREET

Apple Lost the quality they once had that netted cult like following. I baby everything I own 100 cycles battery is junk and Oh yeah 2 charge adapters. Apple macbook and charger = FAIL dont buy unless they change these. Really turned off by quality. Ashamed because my previous products seemed bullet proof. Maybe its made in China manufacturing. You should be above this APPPLE up the quality and I will gladly pay more like I did in late 90's . Fail

    Terrible battery ever from Apple!!!

    • Written by from Singapore

Actually, I first bought Apple product from my friends' advertisement about its quality etc... But it ends up with full of disappointment especially the battery of my Macbook pro 13 inch. Only after 16 cycles (I did calibration 1-2 months as instructed by Apple), the battery health now is 78%. I feel so stunned with that. As compared to what Apple self advertise: New generation of battery that can maintain up to 80% after 1000 cycles of charging, it seems Apple only tell lies, at least that's true for me. I also try to call Apple center in Singapore, but they say the battery is normal with all above-mentioned information. So, please be careful with Apple's advertisement.

Only 145 Cycles -- Dead Battery

    • Written by from Bonaire

I'll let my MacBook speak for itself:

    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 48

    Charging: Yes
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 133
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 145
    Condition: Check Battery
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): 512
    Voltage (mV): 12568

I have to keep it plugged in to use it. I see others have had great luck with their batteries, so I suspect I simply got a lemon. At least, that is what my Apple-washed brain tells me. :-)

Unplug Your Battery When It's Charged!

    • Written by from Langhorne

It's seems there are mixed reviews here so i'll add a positive one. If you actually unplug your computer when it's charged your battery lasts A LONG TIME! I had a roommate with the same computer bought several weeks apart and he needed a new battery after about a year. Why is this? because he never unplugged it, so when he did eventually his battery life was terrible. If you unplug it when it's charged it will work very well.

    Full charge capacity (mAh): 3883
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 579
    Condition: Normal

that's almost 600 load cycles on the original battery, with a 90% original capacity and the computer is 33 months old. That's just shy of 3 years.

Swelling after 50 cycles, interferes w/trackpad

    • Written by from Princeton

I've had the battery for a few years and it has swelled after only 50 cycles. The battery pushes against the trackpad, making it very hard to use. I use the laptop almost exclusively while powered, so rarely do I use the battery. However now the battery seems dangerous, like there's a lot of built-up pressure causing it to physically swell. Why should anyone spend $130 on a replacement that could do the same thing?

    Here is my battery report:
    Charge Information:
    Charge Remaining (mAh): 3140
    Fully Charged: No
    Charging: Yes
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 3172

Buy only if you have no other option

    • Written by from Pune

The battery worked fine for about a year. But it started swelling after that. I was ready to pay for a replacement, but Apple does not give warranty against swelling. So you are on your own if the new battery also swells. Moreover, the Apple rep also said that it's "normal" for a battery to swell.
