Reviews for Rechargeable Battery - 13-inch MacBook (aluminum)

Barely lasts an hour after >500 cycles.. Would give it 0 stars if possible.. you'd think at this price apple would put out a quality product, but no.

The battery is 14 months old, and I discharge it completely at least twice a month, yet it will only run my computer for 20 minutes! Completely unacceptable! Believe me when I say that I have taken the absolute best care of this battery: I am a Junior computer science/engineering student at a North Carolina Engineering College.

I'm on cycle number 1564 right now! It still holds a charge for a few hours while surfing the web. It came with my computer when I bought it the day that the aluminum style macbook came out back in '08. I don't know how long batteries are supposed to last, but this one is still treatin' me right.

Battery has very good life to it, mine is on 1,503 cycles currently and still in good condition. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the price.

As I was about to purchase a new battery, and after reading the reviews, I realized how lucky I am. I have been using my 2008 Late Aluminum MacBook unplugged for nearly 2 hours now, and I am at 70%, with 3 hours remaining. I noticed the review that suggested unplugging when fully charged. Although there were times I would leave it plugged in for a day or two, generally, it was left unplugged, so this may well be helpful after all. The price of the battery is rather steep, so I think I might just wait a little longer to order a second batter, just to have one on hand. I realize now that I confused the charge in this MacBook to the one in my IPad. Hey...I'm old, it happens.

I brought the Macbook 13' with this battery. The Battery was working very bad after less than one year. Now it does not work at all at 270 cycles, I wish I was more persistent in my complaints, while under the warranty.

i bought a macbook in the summer of 2008 now its the summer of 2012... the battery just recently stopped taking a charge two days ago.

Apple Lost the quality they once had that netted cult like following. I baby everything I own 100 cycles battery is junk and Oh yeah 2 charge adapters. Apple macbook and charger = FAIL dont buy unless they change these. Really turned off by quality. Ashamed because my previous products seemed bullet proof. Maybe its made in China manufacturing. You should be above this APPPLE up the quality and I will gladly pay more like I did in late 90's . Fail

currently 42 months old with 2 hours 10 mins each life with max brightness and a lot of apps open, can't complain. always remove the battery when i dock it to an external screen.

I have to keep it plugged in to use it. I see others have had great luck with their batteries, so I suspect I simply got a lemon. At least, that is what my Apple-washed brain tells me. :-)
