This product is great and I think everyone who has an iPod Touch 2nd gen should get one of these. It allows you to control your music so much more easily. Instead of having to double click the home screen and then hitting the pause button you can just click the remote on your earbuds. So MUCH easier when your iPod is locked.

Well and then its awesome to be able to record stuff and you skype and other voip apps on your ipod. Its nearly like having an iPhone except with no monthly fee.

Just a few flaws

I got home from the Apple Store Boylston Street. I unwrapped the headphone and started using Shazam from the app store with my iTunes library. It was pretty consitent and tagged all but one song I had. This prooved the mic to be pretty descent. The size was a bit smaller than I had expected just a bit. It is 2.8 cm long and half a centimeter wide. The center gray button is 1.15 centimeters long. These are just to give you a visual. The placement on the headphone cable is a little higher up than I would have liked though. There is 11.5 cm of cable from the bottom of the earbud to the remote. Overall this is a very cool devvice to have and i would recommend it but it is not a must.

There really nice high quality and every thing. But the only problem is that it kills people from buying the new ear phones, because they don't work on the old ipods. Like the 1gen ipod touch, I mean if apple made some kind of new soft so the remote and mic will work they will sell more. Even if apple only makes it so the mic can work apple will sell more. Think you for reading this.

I love the new design of the headset and has a little bit of noise canceling but I hate to say it but I gave it 4/5 because it is not compatible with the iPhone Series. I hope in the future, Apple will make the headset compatible when there is a new iPhone updates

Just got the earphones with remote & mic and they work very well. Not sure why the stores don't stock them. I ordered them from Apple On-line and got them 3 days later without paying the extra shipping cost to get them faster. 3 days from China, I am not sure how they could have got here any faster actually. For a savings of $40.00 rather then buying the $79.00 model in the store was worth it to me.

Great Idea --- Could Be Better

I recieved these headphones today with the intention of an state-of-the-art product from Apple. Instead, the box was very hard to open. The actual headphones are the EXACT ones shipped with the iPods, except on the right side, there is a VERY small button (as pictured) with a microphone on the back. It wasn't even centered!!! Great concept, but it needs improvement.

The same quality and feel of the Apple headphones with the mic and remote is freakin' awesome! Makes changing or pausing the song a breeze while driving, as well as adjusting the volume! Highly recommend.

When I saw them, I thought it wasn't that interesting, but once I got it I found out that the mic and volume control worked perfectly on my iPod Touch.

I just bought these headphones, and the audio is great. Although I have a an iPod touch 1st generation 16G, the mic and remote are useless. So make sure that you check that this product is compatible with your iPlayers.

Remote Works Great Very Awesome Product

I got these as a Birthday gift for my New iPod touch and I love them.

What I did not expect is that the headphones Remote works with my New Aluminum Unibody MacBook.

Same instructions work for iTunes on my Mac except if you hold the + or - button it only move's one volume bar once it does not shoot it up or down.

The Microphone well I have no way of testing it. I do not have an app nor does the Mic seems to work with the Mac only the very cool remote.

I really like these headphones. Having the remote is very great and very helpful no more having to take my iPod out of my pocket all the time.

These headphones even have one of those little slider things that lets you keep the cord tight on your face. It has a slit in the side where the cord to the Mic/Remote is. So you can pull the cord out and put the clip on before or after the Mic/Remote.

I do not know if these work on the older Macs but they do on the new ones.

Sound quality is like the regular Apple headphones.

if you are thinking about buying headphones then buy these ones. the great thing is that they only cost $30. the only thing that makes it worse then the ipod headphone without the mic and volume control is that it only works with the new generation of ipods.
if you think that a microphone and a volume control on an ipod without an increase in price is a great feature then click YES.

Good for the price

After purchasing the headphone/mic, I logged in to Fring on my iPod Touch at the Apple store to call my father, who also wanted a set. The quality was bad using Skype Out in the noisy mall environment (scratchy and popping).

I returned home to make calls on a fast connection in a quiet environment. Calls to the home phone was better with about 1-3 seconds of lag. Quality was like a poor cell connection.

Skype to Skype was MUCH better yet the lag remained. The sound quality was similar to an OK cell connection. Heavy data compression was apparent, but tolerable. We tested this with 2 iPod Touch's on Fring, Skype-Skype, both with the new headphone/microphone.

Voice quality on voice recording programs is outstanding.

The fit and finish is the same as the original ear buds, which hurt my ears after about an hour of listening. The mic/remote is nice with volume, play/pause working seamlessly. The microphone hangs about 4 inches or so down from the right ear bud. I found that it was not necessary to hold it up to my mouth. Audio quality remained the same just letting it rest naturally.

Overall, good for the price and for free VOIP calls on the iPod Touch 2nd Gen. I expect that the audio quality will improve with a better VOIP program. Also, the mic tends to peter out in noisy areas, but works exceedingly well in quiet places.

The Upgrade of the mic and remote that is streamlined is just great for those who put there ipod in your pocket. I personally like the feel of the apple ear buds, so if u don't like them, that's a personal, so those people who don't like the feel of the ear buds, will hate these. there is no change in the actual ear bud.

Great for the Gym

This is a great set of "low-cost" headphones for the gym. I really do like the new iPod Nano 4th gen but as with all iPods and taking them to the gym (minus the Shuffle), using the scroll wheel to adjust the volume or even change a song can be a challenge when on the treadmill. I have visions of trying to change a song and then getting shot off the treadmill at a fairly decent clip just because I couldn't manage the finger, hand, and feet thing all at the same time. With these headphones you get the comfort of adjusting music playback and volume right on the headphone cable. It's the little things...
